I just think we need to be consistent and practice what we are preaching.

There is no doubt in my mind that gays will be able to marry in the US within 20 years if not before. So the question is how do we want to prepare ourselves for that soon to be fact?

One person at a time, for me. I am not one who can stand in front of many and speak the Word of God. I do, however, know that His Spirit will guide me one conversation at a time. We all have our work set out for us to do. Become familiar with what it is and pray for guidance.

As time goes on, it will only get worst. Nowhere in His Word have I read that it will get better. This question is something we need to ask about every sin.

May Gods Guidance Be With Us,

OneLight

Well, I will stick with what the bible says.

There is no eternal life with Jesus, for those who die whilst still engaged in active h/sexuality. The same goes for those living in adultery or defacto relationships. In fact there is no salvation for those who don't repent. In spite of 1Jn.1:9, some could die the day before they repent of their indiscretions the performed the night before. The bible is very clear about it....there are no concessions if you dont repent, and that mens cease your sinful activities. God does not turn a blind eye.....like some so-called christians do. God doesn't does send people to hell, their own action do.

You don't have to point fingers or whisper to one another, you have to be like Jesus and preach it, even if you are hated for it. I've been spat on for telling a h/sexual the truth, but then the Master was spat on too.

Nothing is the real answer, its not like you are going to experience pain and suffering if this happens.. Just let the world get on being the world, instead your efforts and time is better served in living your life as a witness to God and to tell people about God and salvation when you can.

This is nothing new to the world, so why act as if its a new invention and something that is a threat to your own way of life. As Christians we are simply ambassadors in a foreign land. Our true home is with God , where we shall end up when we die.

The big problem with homosexuality is the way in which many churches embrace homosexuality and see nothing really wrong with it, many mainstream denominations have embraced the worlds view on too many things, homosexuality is one such thing, which is one reason why its such a heated topic.

Would God allow someone who has been saved to continue thier sinful practice ? I certainly have few sins I hve struggled with, when I do fall it isnt without a fight and I feel dirty and horrible afterwards, I repent and I am stronger for it. If you have been a practicing homosexual then become a Christian , then you must give this sinful act up, however many people still can not see that it is a sin, they want to beleive it is not becuase they love thier sin, they want to sin, they love the flesh too much, so come out with all kinds of arguments that go on for page after page after page of reasoning and distorting scripture in order to convince mainly themselves, that they are right and it is acceptable to continue in homosexaulity and be a Christian who is going to be saved. Incidentally, people also do this with other sins and addictions they can not let go off or want to justify themselves

Do you really want to live your life engaging in the same sinful addiction beleiving there is nothing wrong with it without begging forgivness and healing from it? Do you really want to risk your eternal life with God? You can not keep on repeating the same sin day after day after day, I beleive that God will reject those who do not take thier walk with God seriously. IF you continue to practice the same sin every day with no intention to stop, then I can not see that person entering heaven, after all its just paying lip service, now we getting on to once saved always saved, which is another discussion entirly.

Conclusion, do you really want to jepordize your salvation by falling for lies that there is nothing wrong with being a practicing homosexual?

Hi AndrewA, just a couple of comments here, when you say that we should just let the world get on with being the world, as christians we are to preach the gospel to the world, not ignore it.

and when you say it's nothing new, you are correct, but today it is getting more prevalent, because it's being flaunted under our noses that is an acceptable life style, and saying it's not a threat to our way of life, I cannot agree. My grand children and gr grand children and many others are getting taught in schools and the media, including tv, that it is cool to be gay, so what are we supposed to do, turn our backs like the liberals? No absolutely not, and we don't bash them over the head with out bibles either, but we can still stand up and be counted and annouce to all and sundry, that the wages of sin is death, and repentance is required for salvation and eternal life in heaven.

No threat to our life style? Don't you believe it Andrew. They are a huge threat.

Hey,

This is coming from someone who is married to a homosexual. Yes we had a relatively monogamous marriage---until I found out he was cheating on me with another man.

The Scriptures clearly state what God thinks of homosexuals. After all, He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of sodomy and homosexuality. Go back to the OT if you really want to know what God thinks of it. Go to Romans 1 and read that over too.

Even if it's in a monogamous relationship, God says it wrong. It even goes so far as to say in Romans 1:32 that anyone who APPROVES AND CONDONES of such acts will have the same punishment. That is why I am no longer with my husband. I can't approve and/or condone him having sex with a man, in any way shape or form. I am not going to hell for anyone.

The homosexual church (Metropolitan Christian Church) throws all these scriptures out the window. They believe that it was not literal. You can't have it both ways with God. You cannot love God and continue to sin. It don't work that way.

My ex asked me 2 weeks ago what my church would do if he walked in and announced he was both psychic and gay. I said we'd love him. One of my pastors, when I told them this question said yeah, we'd love him, but we'd cast the devil out of him first. Maybe that was a harsh response, but it is very true---homosexuality has a devil behind it. So does lust. So does greed. So do a lot of other sins.

I still love my husband, don't get me wrong. I haven't stopped loving him. I just cannot condone his lifestyle. I won't. I'm not expected to.

I'm sure there are others that can put more into this than I can, but I'm only speaking from what I know and have experienced firsthand. I love the homosexual community---I've had some really good friends that were gay---but I cannot condone, nor have I ever condoned, their actions. I've just loved them as people. That's all God asks us to do anyway.

Anita

God does not hate the homosexual He hates the lifestyle. This is not a gray area. Marriage is forbidden. Why do we keep brining this up?

One answer to your question Rusty angel>>>

AS long as people keep condoning and refusing to believe that homsexuality is something to look the other about and supporting them, it will always crop up. This cliche, that God loves the sinner but hates the sin. is getting a bit frayed around the edges. Are we to ignore a practisong homosexual because God loves him, or are we to tell him the truth about his particular life style and tell him what God thinks of it. If the media (inclusive) were to give christianity as much coverage as they do the homosexuals, the world would be a better place. If the media wont do it, then it's up to the church to do it and I dont' mean by protest marches or such, but at least being a bit vocal about it.

cheers,

eric.

I hear what you are saying ruck1b, but what you are meaning is.....actions speak louder than words....so if we walk hand in hand along the path. with polished halos and beam smiles at evryone, they will want the same.

The general public, especially those engaged in immoral life styles, only go with the flow. The internet and christian message boards, such as this one, are the only public means to get the word out. Millions of people have access to most websites young and old good and bad and I for one, get sick of watching homosexuality creeping into our homes and work places and not being able to stop the flood of porn and sex that people are judging as normal. Even half the commercials have a lewd and sexy tendancy.

Family values and decency are flying out the window, and the church sermons are getting more seeker friendly and are more interested in numbers than souls. Jesus said, "you'll be hated because of ME." Well I would sooner be loved by Jesus than hated by a bunch of perverts. Jesus never pussy-footed around during His earthly ministry, and neither do I. I belive in cutting to the chase.

Sorry but that's the way I am. He was hated and despised and even killed, but He rose again and He has destined His true followers to do the same. Hallelujah!

Sorry, but that is not so. God's wrath and hatred is on the sinner.

As I stated earlier:

Psalm 5:5, "The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity,"

Psalm 11:5, "The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates."

Lev. 20:23, "Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I shall drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them."

Hosea 9:15, "All their evil is at Gilgal; indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will love them no more; All their princes are rebels."

So much for "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner."

CARM writes: "God hates sin. But, He does not punish sin. He punishes the sinner. Sin cannot be tied up and thrown into a fire. It cannot be put in a box or glued to a stick. It is rebellion. It is rebellion in the heart. It is breaking God's Law. Sin occurs inside the heart and mind of people. Therefore, God must punish the sinner. Why? Because He is both Holy and Just and the person who sins offends God. God's Holy and Just character will not allow Him to ignore these offenses."

But, the good news is that God is also a God of mercy. And he will extend mercy, forgiveness, and love to all who ask. Those who refuse his offer are willful rebels who choose to live apart from Him on earth, and for eternity. Hell is what they desire, and God will give them the desire of their hearts.

Anyone who WANTS to be saved, shall be saved.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
