Black Christmas trees

i still see upside down trees in some stores. i haven't seen a black tree, but last night at walmart i saw all kinds of black decorations... black stockings, black tree skirts, black ornaments... i thought it was really distasteful.

OK, I can see how it looks pretty with the lights.

When I first read the op, I thought, "Oh, well that's rather distasteful." But after looking at this picture, wow, that is really pretty! Also, the black could represent our sin, and the lights can represent light from Jesus.

It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would....but it's just not a christmas tree!

It's just as bad as those awful white trees. Can't stand em.

I prefer a real Christmas tree.

When I was having chemo and we couldn't have a real tree, we had a tabletop artificial one and it was so SAD!! The real ones remind us of eternal life (evergreen) and the aroma of the real tree is awesome.

Well Neb......................I think I'll stick with the green one myself..........those are alittle weird, but NOT as weird as the silver tree with the light show when I was little!

The original point of having a tree was that it was green and alive surrounded by the cold and dark of winter; it was a sign of Christ who although death was around us, was alive in the midst of that death, thus an evergreen during the winter which stays green.

For me, if I could not have an alive green tree I honestly don't think I would do one at all.

I agree 100%! My earliest memories of Christmas at home is the SMELL of pine from our real Christmas Trees....Sigh...

the aroma of a live tree can be awesome, but it cal also set off a really good asthma attack,,,,, and that will make you not like real live treed

Other one: I was reading about allergies to Christmas trees the other day, and read that often it is not the tree, but dust being stirred up as ornaments are unpacked. Just wanted to share what I read in case it may help you any. It was suggested in this article that ornaments be taken out of their packaging outside and then brought in.

My husband has asthma due to allergies as well, especialy in the fall. It doesnt look like fun at all.
