Shilo,

Thank you for praying for my family, that means alot to me.

and thank you for sharing how you witness to Jewish family.

Not words but acts count the same for us, its easy to know the words to say but if you don't act by them it means nothing.

I believe and this is sad to say--that there are too many Christians who are far to judgemental in seeing the thorns in somebody else their eyes.

There is a very nice Jewish couple who lives in Toronto they are traveling around to witness theirt believe in Jesus. We had the honor of having them for supper one evening--they gave us beautiful tape with Jewish songs made by their daughter Miriam.

For me to remember them by I got a little silver "Menorah" to hand on a necklace, its very special to me.

He had a different teaching on the topic of "Heaven, I forget now how he explained it.

Where do you live and is your family born again also?

I never heard about holocaust rememberance day either , but its a very good thing because people forget too soon.

I heard a program on the radio this week , they were talking about how we are reliving the years before the war started again.....and we can see hatred towards the Jews flaring up everywhere, in France they don't even want to show the movie "The Passion" because of hatred already.

Sad to say--but the good news this world is not lasting forever ;)

Nebula,

Shiloh - I haven't heard of Holocasust Rememberance Day before.

When is it?

This year Yom HaShoah falls on Monday, April 19, 2004. The Hebrew calendar has it set on the date Nisan 28th. It is just after Passver which falls on the 14th of Nisan. In ancient times Nisan was kown by the name Aviv. The Hebrew and Gregorian caledars over lap and since the Hebrew Calendar is lunar, and the Gregorian Calendar is solar, there are some differnces every year. Nisan 28th falls on a different Gregorian date every year. Next year, Nisan 28th will be on a different Gregorian date.

It is the day that we remember the six million Jews who died in the camps. We light a seven branched Menorah on that day, one candle for each 1 million souls, and the seventh is reserved especially for the 1 and 1/2 million children who were among the six million. We also honor the memories of those who went to the camps who were not Jewish. There were many who had the moral judgement to oppose Hitler, and were thus killed. There were many who tried to help the Jews, and they were interred in the camps. There were many Christians who gave their lives to protect Jews from Hitler's madness. They made the supreme sacrifice, and they will never be forgotten. Indeed, their reward in Heaven is great.

On that day, we have special prayers, and in Synagogues, there are special services that day. It is almost like a Sabbath, in that the Jewish world shuts down, closes its businesses, and takes time to remember.

Many Messianic Synagogues celebrate the day. You live in Baltimore, correct? You might look around. There are several Messianic congregations around there. (I wish I lived up there, believe me) You are sure to find one that will be celebrating Yom HaShoah, if you are interested. If you want, I will provide a listing of congregations with addresses and phone #'s in your area. You can then check and see what they are doing on Yom HaShoah.

In Holland they celebrate it May5th.

The Germans came to get my Dad to bring him to Germany------but he escaped and was hiding until the war was over, he remembers eating tullip bulbs, alot of people were very hungry in the latter days of the war ,he still does not really want to talk about the war and my husbands Dad never wanted to talk about it either. he wrote a diary which we read after his dead, they took him to Germany to a labor camp but he escaped and walked all the way back home which took him a long time---

Wow - seeing the numbers like that - that's horrific!

One thing, though, angels, if you could fix the post a bit so it's less confusing?

Like, do this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Country - Solution Population - Population Annihilated - Number Percent

Poland - 3,300,000 - 3,000,000 - 90

*

*

*

Total: 8,861,800 - 5,933,900 - 67

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks!

(67% of the total European/Russian Jewish popluation? :hmmm: )

The life of Corrie Ten Boom is very special. Her walk with the Lord and the things she did are wonderful examples of the Lord. I love her calling herself a tramp for the Lord.(She used to go to places like Russia before the wall came down. With only one suit case she traveled and spread the gospel). She gave her all and what a blessing she was! I never tire of hearing her testimony.

One story about Corrie Ten Boom I will never forget, is when she was ministering in China, and she was staying in a hotel room one of the main cities. She found a '

microphone that evidently was supposed to be "hidden" down in a corner on the floor.

She knew that the Chinese authorities were listening to her every word and movement, so she got down on her hands and knees with her Bible and got up real close to the microphone and preached gospel to the Chinese authorities for almost an hour or so.

As she was leaving the hotel the next day she actually got an opportunity to witness face to face to one of the guards who was assigned to listen in on her room. I think that is a neat story.

I watched the Hiding Place when I was a kid. That's when it was out in theatres. I also borrowed it from our church library about a month ago. What amazing faith that woman (and her family) had.

There's another great story from a dutch writer, Diet Eman, called Things We Couldn't Say. This woman's job was to transport and hide Jews during the war. Another amazing woman of great faith.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
