1 Cor. 14:34-35 isn't talking about them being pastors or evangelists... it's talking about the women in the congergation who were unruley and out of order. If you would stop taking things out of context you would realize that Paul was talking about the very unruley corinthian church.

What has women in ministry to do with the original title of this thread. It's supposed to be about lesbian preachers, not normal women. There is no such thing as a christian lesbian....Period.

Andrew007,

I mean no offence, but you aren't too familiar with 1 Cor.14:34,35 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak;but they are commanded to be under obedience,as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church" 1 Tim.2:12, "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man,but to be in silence." Paul told Timothy that if a man desired the position of a bishop,he must be the HUBAND OF ONE WIFE. You said that you don't see anything wrong with women preachers, well brother, what's wrong with it is the fact that God said that women are not to preach. Where do you think Paul got his info from? Please,I mean no offence, but God said.

The churches that allow gays as ministers don't follow the old law at all.

  NOO NO, NO, NO,:P Andrew, this is what started the thread on ministers.... :P by your comment.... :P I was just showing you the same thing that you were trying to say...but mine was from both OT and NT...God's whole word not half of it....

:P I agree with Salt and Light with regards to 1 Cor.14:34,35...take it as what the word of God says...WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE PREACHERS. period.

Oh and by the way Andrew, that pie in the face can be taken both ways....read it again and see if you get my point....

Have a nice day!

my Bible...speaks of homosexuality...as a 'great' sin...

So it must be dealt with...confessed...repent...

Turn your back on...and move on...

Other sins... would not be tolerated...

I don't see Drunken Preachers...

Or, Stealing, Lying Preachers...

This is a mockery...on Our Great God...Repent...

And, also God to strengthen you in this weak area...)

I would like to find the section of verses that actually say a woman can not be a pastor........ not a single verse from one chapter from one book.....

the problem I see with homosexuals being pastors, is that they are unwilling to give up their sinful ways to follow Gods ways..... not that their sin is any greater then anyother, but are they repenting from it??? or are they bragging about it and showing the world.... " Hey, Look at me, i am gay and i am a pastor "

for those that say they are not practicing homosexuallity, and have never indulged, then how can a person say they are homosexual??? if a person supposidly knows they are from an early age, then how did they find out??? who was the perp that molested them, or had relations with them.....

as far as a pastor being, it is just as any sin, repent from it.... turn from the old ways and turn towards the Lord..... repent from it... remove ones self from the life style ( sin can be a life style..... and in many cases is..... )

repent repent repent......

if one repents from something, they are not doing it anymore......

if a person that is a cleptomaniac, repents, and lives their life for the Lord, no longer wishes to steal.... and if they temptation is there, they turn it over to the Lord and do not fall into the trap again...... a change of life style....

if a person that has a mouth that uses the Lords name in about every sentance they speak, repents, and turn their life over to the Lord, they will be refraining from using the Lords name in vain..... ( by the way, just using a cuss word attached to the Lords name is not the only way of using His name in vain.... we can also use His name in vain when we are in every day conversation with out swear words.... think about it...... if we say "Oh God it is so Hot i am about to cook"

or " Oh Lord, I am so hungry I am about to starve to death"..... or.......... or

what are we doing???? we are not asking God for anything, we are not praising His Holy Name.... we are not lifing His Name up above all others, we are using it in vain....

anyways, if a person repents of this and follows the Lords will, they will refrain from doing it.... even when temptation is placed before them..... and as we are taught, the Lord will not put more temptation before us then we can handle and will always leave us an out.... and will not allow more then we can handle ever placed upon us, even by satan......

if we are over come by temptation, then it is satan that is at work, and we are bowing down to it, not striding thru it with the help of the Lord.....

many times I have been tempted to pick up cigarettes, and it would have been so easy to do it too, but with the Lords help, I have not picked one up since oct 24th at 4 pm 2003..... if the Lord had not been with me, and if i had not been living on the promise, i could not have made it..... it has been 4 months, and yes, i still get tempted but i dont...... why bow down to temptation, i already know how hard itwas t ostop.... why do it again.....

if these people that are " homosexual " do not repent of their doings, then they are not living the life that God wants for them... if any of us living in sin do not repent from our doings, then we are not living the life that God wants for us..... God wants to bless us, not condemn us.... God wants us to be free from the sins that we have binding us to this world.... God wants to set us free from this world.....

if I was a murderer, and I was continuting to murder people ( even thou the country laws say yea, go ahead, cuts down on the population explossion ) cause it is "legal" to do so, and become a pastor, and do not repent of my wrong doings, then yea, i will burn right along every one else that has not repented....

by the way, murder has become legal, does that make it right???? ( abortion is murder )

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
