You jest, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Lieberman has been seen by his side frequently already this year.

It would still be amusing . . . from that perspective.

OK, trying to be a little silly in all of this . . .

Imagine if McCain chose Joe Lieberman to be his running mate.

Then you would have a liberal conservative running with a conservative liberal. :whistling:

Outside of Huckabee, Liberman is the only other person (politically) who could help McCain win the election because he would carry conservative democrats. Probably is, there aren't enough of them.

We allowed ourselves to get into a situation where our choices are all wicked. McCain is the only choice we have if we want to defeat Islamofascism...and if we do not do that, we should all start measuring our wives/daughters for burkas.

McCain made a nice speech yesterday, but words don't make up for his past actions. Only time will tell if he is sincere.

He is blatantly lying. He's just like the Clintons in that respect, saying anything to get elected.

The only thing he would be better on is the war. Other than that all 3 are alike.

Kat ...I agree that he would be better on the war. Isn't that enough reason to not allow one of the other two to get in power. We can get a cold or we can catch pneumonia. I'll take the cold. I wish the GOP could have come up with something better but they failed to and it still beats what the Dems have to offer. McCain has sided with conservatives on a few other social issues. Its sad that this is all we have to choose from but its just where we are.

I am by NO MEANS excited about John McCain for President...but you are all missing a couple of HUGE points...

A) McCain is conservative on budget matters. He is against raising taxes. He is against providing additional funding for most social programs. He is against using social security and has voted to stop using SS funds and wants to remove it from the budget altogether. He supports requiring a 3/5 vote in congress to raise taxes, making it harder to raise taxes. The list goes on...he is squarely conservative on these issues.

B) Supreme Court Justice John Stevens will be leaving during the next presidential term. The next president will hire his replacement. Do you want McCains nominee for Supreme Court...or Hillary and Obama's??? That Justice will make rulings for the next 20+ years. I think it is vitally important that we elect the most conservative judges possible.

McCain is not the best republican choice...let alone the most conservative choice. However, he is a far cry better than the alternative. We should be careful that in our efforts to gain the whole world that we don't lose our souls.

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Do you honestly think the American people are going to care about the issue of "banning torture" if the debate is framed that way?

I don't think most Americans care about that issue anyway, Butero. The 'torture' meted out by our government is Club Med room service in most of the detainees' countries. :whistling:

I agree with you. I am not sure why so many of your fellow conservatives don't see that. It seems as though many conservatives would rather have a tax cut, and watch the government grow like kudzu than actually have a president that reduces the size of government.

But....but....conservatives are supposed to be all about smaller government! Of course, this sure hasn't happened with the current crop of 'conservatives', has it? I was a Reagan Democrat, then a Clinton Republican, then I actually voted for G.W. Bush! Now, I'm wavering again; I like Huckabee, but don't think he can get the nomination, can't stand McCain, and threatened to vote for Hillary if Romney was the nominee. I'll be willing to bet I'm not the only voter who feels like they're in a blender this year. Democrats I talk to are not really sure which way to go either. :whistling:

Well most Democrats I know are very excited about both Hillary and Obama. The divide with them is one over leadership style, not ideology or issues. Its quite possible that Obama may end up being the nominee, and if thats the case, I think he certainly will motivate the base. This is evidenced by the fact that Democrats are showing up in numbers 2 to 1 over Republicans to vote in the primaries.

With the Republicans, it seems as thought they are very fractured this time along different ideological factions. Its almost as though there is a battle for the soul of the party, and no one in it is really being realistic.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
