It relates to the earlier comment that I can't claim to be a "pure" Englishman because I can't trace my descent past the start of written records.

I suppose no one's considered the idea that God created life with the capacity to evolve and change in the millions of years it's been on this planet?

Shalom,

Nope. He created man and woman IN HIS OWN IMAGE and not to be "evolved", so yes, Genesis trumps evolution. :emot-hug:

Here is a strict caution against all friendship and fellowship with idols and idolaters. Those who are in communion with God, must have no communication with the unfruitful works of darkness. Limiting the orders to destroy, to the nations here mentioned, plainly shows that after ages were not to draw this into a precedent. A proper understanding of the evil of sin, and of the mystery of a crucified Saviour, will enable us to perceive the justice of God in all his punishments,

temporal and eternal. We must deal decidedly with our lusts that war against our souls; let us not show them any mercy, but mortify, and crucify, and utterly destroy them. Thousands in the world that now is, have been undone by ungodly marriages; for there is more likelihood that the good will be perverted, than that the bad will be converted. Those who, in choosing yoke-fellows, keep not within the bounds of a profession of religion, cannot promise themselves helps meet for them.

(De 7:12-26)

Where does it cover this information in the Bible?

Nowhere. I'm merely pointing out that we, created in His image, are not cousins of Neanderthals. :noidea:

So.....where did the neanderthals come from? Are they another "race" that God created besides Adam and Eve? :whistling: Either they are human, or animal. There is no in-between. If they are animal. Then marrying them would definately be marrying outside your race!

It's my own opinion, and ONLY mine, that Neanderthals and other homanids were here before we were created. Like other primates they were somewhat similiar to modern day humans but they were animals. I believe they were not what the Lord wanted exactly so he tried one more time. We are the result. :24:

they couldn't have been here much before man.... given that all land beasts were created on the same day that adam was.

i'd sure like to know how you support your theory biblically though. it's an interesting theory, to say the least.

I can't support it bibically, Lady C, and it's not even really a theory. It's just my attempt to try to figure things out. I still believe that it's the time thing that kills every attempt to explain how we relate to everything else. My belief is that God can do with time as He pleases; He has no constraints nor is He subject to physical laws. After all, He wrote them. :whistling:

The Bible doesn't exclude the possibility of a pre-Adamic race.

This is true, Ovedya, although there is no allusion to one. I've often wondered whether the Lord 'wiped the slate clean' and started over. There's no way we will know the answer to that one, I believe, until the end of this age.

if the earth was without form and was void, how could any race exist? certainly it would answer a lot of questions, but it would pose others.

Here's a footnote from the Scofield Reference Edition, which I think makes a pretty strong argument:

Jer. 4:23-26, Isa. 24:1 and 45:18 clearly indicate that the earth had undergone a cataclysmic change as the result of a divine judgment. The face of the earth bears everywhere the marks of such a catastrophe. There are not wanting intimations which connect it with a testing and fall of angels. See Ezek. 28:12-15 and Isa. 14:9-14, which certainly go beyond the kings of Tyre and Babylon. Neither [Gen. 1:3] nor in verse s 14-18 is an original creative act implied. A different word is used. The sense is, made to appear; made visible. The sun and moon were created "in the beginning." The "light" of course came from the sun, but the vapour diffused the light. Later the sun appeared in an unclouded sky.

Jeremiah 4:23-26: "I looked on the earth, and lo, it was waste and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light. I looked on the mountains, and lo, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro. I looked, and lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the air had fled. I looked, and lo, the fruitful land was a desert, and all its cities were laid in ruins before the LORD, before his fierce anger."

Isaiah 24:1; 45:18: "Behold, the LORD will lay waste the earth and make it desolate, and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants...For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it a chaos, he formed it to be inhabited!): "I am the LORD, and there is no other."

...

Ezekiel 28:12-15: "Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord GOD: "You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, carnelian, topaz, and jasper, chrysolite, beryl, and onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and wrought in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. With an anointed guardian cherub I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you."

Isaiah 14:9-14: 14:9

Sheol beneath is stirred up to meet you when you come, it rouses the shades to greet you, all who were leaders of the earth; it raises from their thrones all who were kings of the nations. All of them will speak and say to you: 'You too have become as weak as we! You have become like us!' Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, the sound of your harps; maggots are the bed beneath you, and worms are your covering. "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!

You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will make myself like the Most High.'"

I think that it's really a matter of opinion, but Scofield's approach to Genesis 1 provides a practical explanation for the age of the earth, the fossil record, and geological events without compromising the fact of God's having created it all.

I have a date with a girl from Jamacia. (She's black, I'm white/mixed background.) I find her very attractive. Hotness, to put it quickly, is not bound by race.

Seeing as this is not the 1950's, I don't understand WHY interracial dating is/can be considered wrong. I mean really, pure bloodlines aren't a qualifying factor when I look for a date. I don't understand why that matters to some people.

The character of a person, the measure of their heart, and what kind of person they are is what matters to me, not the levels of melanin the pitituary produces.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
