Still - isn't there some hoopla about her having enough of the super delegates in her back pocket to usurp him even if he takes the primaries?

Judging by the Dems behavior at the so-called "stolen elections" of 00 and 04, there is NO way they would ever pick a candidate who hasn't won the popular primary vote. Even they don't have the stomach for that.

Hillary will pull any shady thing she has to in order to get the nomination. The only problem, is, if she doesn't get it, she'll be back next time.

But I think that whichever one gets it, it will bring out enough Republicans to stop them, even with McCain as the nominee. Either one of them being president is too terrifying a thought, even with McCain as the only alternative.

As Butero said, McCain may be wrong 50% of the time, but Obama [and Hillary] is wrong 100% of the time.

She'll be back next time? But isn't she already like 64 or so??? Anyway, I'm not convinced that McCain has the star power to galvanize the GOP in this coming election. And his age really worries me. :emot-pray:

I suspect unless Obama gaffs in a major way over the next two weeks, he's in. I guess the Dems aren't ready for a woman in the White House. Yet.

I think its the particular woman thats the problem. It has nothing to do with Hillary being a woman, I just think that Democrats (like everyone else) are sick of Bush to Clinton to Bush to Clinton.

Their are very few actual policy / ideological differences between Hillary and Obama. The differences are in style of leadership, and I think that people like Obama's style better in that regard. In the end though, I think people are sick of refighting past battles whether its the battles of the 60s or the 90s.

If Hillary does not win the Popular Vote in the primaries, then no way will she win the nomination. She will just go back to the senate and be reelected until she gets sick of the job.

As far as McCain goes, he has a few problems. The first being his age. The second is the fact that he really does not energize the Republican Party base. The third is that in his efforts to court the base, he will have to back off his more moderate positions and thus alienate the moderates and independents that do like him. The forth is that the guy is a poor public speaker and not a very good debater either and he is going to go up against a guy that is a very good public speaker and a better debater. The fifth is that McCain just looks like the past and all the tired old policies and ideas that go along with it. Finally, Obama is out-raising him almost exponentially, and he is doing it solely from individual contributers. He has millions of donors that he can go back to again and again through the election year. He is going to own the airwaves come this fall. Moreover, just like McCain, he takes no money from lobbyists.

That all said, of all the candidates the Republicans ran this time around, McCain is their best shot.

I keep hearing this, but could someone explain it to me. Why do people keep fainting when they are around Barack Obama? I just don't get it. Who ARE these women??? :emot-pray:

I heard a rumor today ( and it's just a rumor ) these fainting spells are staged.

I wouldn't count on that. I believe it was Lanny Davis I heard a little while ago on the radio talking about how Hillary was going to come away with the nomination because of the super delegates. He said they are under no obligation to vote for the winner of the popular vote, and they have every right to vote for Hillary even if Obama wins the most votes in the primaries. This may be the first year I actually watch the DNC convention. It should prove to be a lot of fun, especially if Hillary is able to steal the nomination.

Technically you are right. However, as it stands, Obama may end up with enough of a lead among committed delegates that there will not be enough super delegates in play to throw the nomination to Hillary. More importantly though, while the super delegates are not technically obligated to go with the popular vote, the pressure would be so immense that it would be very difficult for them not to.

If Hillary loses Texas by a decent margin, then she will probably drop out before the Pennsylvania Primary. If she loses Texas and Ohio, then she will undoubtably drop out. You got to look at it this way, she is not going to be able to raise money, she will have party officials right and left calling for her to drop out, and she will be facing nothing but more primary loses.

I have been good at calling these this year so far you know...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
