This domestically challenged woman can only bow in homage to you, oh Queen! I can barely toast bread; if I HAD to grind wheat and bake it, if that's the only way I could eat, well, it's a safe bet I would starve to death and someone would eventually find me with a Pizza Hut phone menu clutched in one hand and my cell phone in the other. :whistling:

Well, I certainly don't grind my own wheat, but I have a bread machine, and I often bake bread at home. There is nothing like a slice of bread hot out of the bread machine. Perhaps I should stock up on bread flour before the price goes sky high. . .

Shalom,

I would recommend it. And any products made with wheat.

Bulk food stores carry large bags (25#, 50#).

Shalom,

On the network news last night, they interviewed a bakery owner and gave the stats that a bag of flour which previously cost $15 now costs $40.

But, they said the added price to a loaf of bread was only .20 per loaf, not $2.

I grind our wheat at home and bake all our family bread products (bagels, rolls, cookies etc.) and the price of wheat has definitely jumped in the past couple of months.

I'll be making our own pasta again because they said the price of pasta is rising as well.

Shalom,

Oh Glory!! What a hoot!! :emot-hug:

Well, what people do in Christian communities is they help each other. Someone may bake (like myself) and someone may sew (which I do not) and someone's husband may work on cars (which we don't) and they all pool their talents, gifts and resources and help each other.

IOW, I would bake for your family and you all would help us out as well.

At least, that's how it works sometimes with a good bunch of Christians.

Anyway, making bread is easy. Getting high-quality grains for milling and cooking is easy too, but not cheap.

It's worth it though not to eat at Pizza Hut. eeeeeewwwwww. :emot-hug:

Well, I think that sharing of talents and resources is a great thing! Our ancestors did that and it worked well for them. Do you think there are any such groups that are in dire need of process engineering? I can lay out and program a mean downhole wedge valve!

I wouldn't use up a 25# bag in a year! I bake perhaps one or two loaves in a month. But I do have to bake at least 4 skillets of cornbread Sat. for a church dinner we are having Sunday. Cornbread should only be baked in a skillet.

You should have no problem getting cornmeal. Wheat is the culprit right now. And yes, I agree. GOOD cornbread should be baked in a CAST IRON skillet, :whistling:

How many loaves of bread will a 25# bag of wheat make? I can't seem to find a tasty bread, maybe if I try making my own.

lol, it looks like some ones math is off, when the main ingredient almost triples in price, how is it the final product does not? I believe some one is not giving us all the information.

of course we know how the government and the media are about taking things and twisting them all up.... (wicked = twisted) more and more things look like we going to get to go home real soon

honey bees were not native to the USA. they were brought over from Europe.

as far as corn bread, i would thing corn would be going up also due to using corn for fuel....

oh well, it dont matter much, all been talked about for end times.... a days wages for some bread.....

Yes. I remembered that somebody had but was unable to remember or find who it was.

But I was not intentionally plagiarising, just emphasising. Promise you.

Shalom Pearl,

It depends on what size and what other ingredients you use.

I encourage people to use all whole grain flour rather than all-purpose. Whole grains go farther, fill you up faster, contain fiber and are basically MUCH healthier than white. Someone will go through more white bread than whole wheat bread because of the fiber.

So, if you are stocking up, try using whole grains, they are the healthier and better steward choice.

I have some recipes to get you started if you want to start baking bread at home. It's easy!

I gotta bake off my whole wheat bagels this morning. I have 2 batches rising, one is whole wheat and honey and the other is whole wheat, raisin and cinnamon. My family loves homemade whole wheat bagels, breads, tortillas, cakes etc. I only use whole grains in my cooking, no white products (flour, sugar, rice etc) and it's so easy to make your own things with whole grain flour.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
