Have you ever noticed that with what we know to be present day statistics in America or even in other Countries, that when you try to make "Christian" or Christian-like comments, just how many people try to veer away or stay clear of your comments or the subject. Particularly at work where you spend most of your waking day, when you just feel like fellowshiping with others, isn't it sad that you or they just don't feel comfortable holding a conversation about God or the Bible in fear that you will disagree or you will offend someone. What is that all about? Makes you wonder if many worship the same God you do? I know they must have read the same Bible at time or two, since I live near New Orleans, but i just get this very cold shoulder from most, and that really hurts when me when I just want to spread joy, or love around the work force. Well, I risk it many times and be the foward one, in the case that many or just shy or being "careful" at work. I just feel that God will protect me and my job while I roam the earth fellowshiping in HIS NAME....Amen?

It's pretty much that way everywhere, CajunBoy. I DO know what you're talking about. I get around it by only talking about Christian matters with those I know to be of like mind. I know that we are supposed to spread the Word but there is a practical matter to consider. A lot of companies discourage religious activities and talking to other employees about religion or witnessing to them can be construed as harrassment. You have to be careful in the workplace. It could cost you your job. :21:

It is unfortunatly like that everywhere. Everyone just thinks they need to be so PC. Right now I'm not working so I'm not worried about offending, but when its time to go back to work I plan on telling my potential employer upfront that I am Christian and I'm not going to hide it. God will put me where I need to be and He will protect His own.

I feel for you cajunboy. :21:

It is a very sad commentary on the state of our nation that Christians need to feel this way. Acts chapters 4 and 5 seem very applicable to we Christians today. Peter and John were openly teaching about Jesus and were arrested and thrown in prison. But they were released by and angel and told to go right back to openly preach the Good News. When they were arrested again this is what happened:

"Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." Acts 5:28-29

I pray for boldness in my witness...to not have fear of what others may think and say, but to honor God and the sacrifice of Jesus for me by speaking up for Him. I must say that I am becoming more bold, but I'm a long way from being arrested for my faith.

I admire your zeal, PB, but just a friendly word of advice. I wouldn't tell a new employer that; that's pretty much saying 'this is who I am, take it or leave it'. Good stance in life but....not in the workplace. Competition for jobs is fierce and you need to give yourself every break you can. You shouldn't hide your Christian faith but you shouldn't go 'in your face' with it either. After you've been with a company for a bit, you will know who to talk to about faith and who to talk to about only generic subjects. I have seen an employee written up for prostelyzing at my last company. Of course, he was a JW but....well you get the idea. :21:

Dear Cajun,

It is sad. I think the reason is because most professing to be Christians, have made up a god of their imaginations, rather than the God of the Bible. The problems and differences come up when you try to discuss things of God's Word, because that doesn't really fit with the god that has been created by "feelings". That is why it is SO IMPORTANT for those who claim to be "Christians", to be in God's Word, lest they conjure up a god that is really only what they have created in their own mind, rather than the God of Truth.

I have become stunned by how far off, we have gotten from the God of the Bible....then the practices within this nation would be totally different than they are.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I have experienced quite a wide range of trouble when speaking about religious matter and/or politics, specially in the net, and hence it is not a subject I feel comfortable with.

Thank you for the advice but I must disagree with you. I have to put God first in all I do and if that means I won't be hired because I'm a professing Christian, so be it.

I work directly with just two others. My boss calls God a she and the other coworker is not sure about her belief. She feels she is more of a Universalist, believing anyone who does good can get into heaven.

Everyone else gives you that look as if you are just plain crazy and they need to stay clear of you. This is why I hold strong in my belief that they will know me by my fruits. When they ask, I have an answer.

THAT'S the god of their imagination that I was talking about....yet I'm sure that if you ask them, they will claim to be a "Christian".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
