Cerebrus, with the questions and experiences of astro projection and lucid dreaming, do you see yourself as a New Age Christian?

I've had several of these lucid dreams entirely "by accident" and I really have trouble believing that learning how to induce them on purpose is "evil".

I recovered from crippling knee and wrist pain entirely from using my thoughts and relieving repressed memories. This was after going to countless doctors giving me medicines and recommending even surgery (!). This was something I had to learn, an art if you will. (a book I came upon thanks I believe to my prayers to recover from the condition) Is this wrong too?

Maybe you can clarify this more for me. Are you saying that you healed yourself by some form of lucid dreaming or mind control?

God has put your spirit in your body and that's where it needs to stay until He calls you home. You are dabbling in the occult and that is wrong. When you open this door into the spiritual world you are giving Satan a foothold, and a Christian needs to focus on Christ rather that occult matters. Why not spend your efforts learning God's word and search the Scriptures to see what God has to say about this.

Having a lucid dream is not evil. Trying to control your dreams for the purpose of learning to consciously explore and use your dreams for self-discovery, creativity, fantasy fulfillment, emotional healing, and profound spiritual insights is where you get into spiritual danger. It is where New Age is taking it.

I really don't see the danger in any of this.

I mean the dreams would be my dreams. I'm not stealing them from anyone or projecting them into anyones head.

What's wrong with self-discovery, creativity, fantasy fulfillment, and emotional healing? As for spiritual insights, I get that from the Word and my day to day interactions with the world around me.

(I can direct you to the Scriptural basis and support for this if you would like.)

Maybe it's time for some scripture here. What does the Word say?

I don't remember reading anything that pertains to this. Maybe I did but wasn't paying attention.

You won't find the words lucid dreaming, not new age, in the scripture, but they are here. I can no more bring in scripture to show you it is wrong then you can to show me it is right. You will, however, find false teaching in the scriptures. Tell me, why would a Christian need to find out more of their "self" when they have laid their "self" down for the Lord? Isn't "fantasy fulfillment" not being satisfied with where God has placed you? "Emotional healing" would also mean that you are not trusting God to help and that you do not have the fruit of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Tell me, how is this honoring God? This is seeking through New Age what God has already given you.

It's one thing to be in a dream, realize you are in a dream, and intentionally or unintentionally directing change.

It's another to play with power - the art of lucid dreaming is crossing that line.

Why is it bad to be able to control ones thoughts?

Word semantics. Dreams are more than just "your thoughts." To think so if very atheistic. Dreams reveal the things of your heart (aka spirit) - thus making them a door to the spirit realm.

Dreams can also be messages from God.

They can also be ploys of Satan.

But they are of the spirit realm (after all, if you study the prophecies in Scripture, where the prophets describe what they say, you will notice that they look like the weird stuff you see in dreams).

I'm not trying to control anyone else. I'm not even making an effort to control mine....it just happens.

They're dreams.....where's the bad?

If the Lord meant to give you a message through a dream, and you changed the dream, where do you think the bad is?

I really don't understand this logic at all. . . .

Besides what I answered above, I need to ask you something?

Have you ever seen a demon?

You won't find the words lucid dreaming, not new age, in the scripture, but they are here.

If you can't find reference to this in scripture, aren't you in fact making up a doctrine?

I can no more bring in scripture to show you it is wrong then you can to show me it is right.

I never said it was right, I never said it was wrong.....I just said it happens. I never asked for it...I never studied for it...I never prayed for it. I have a limited ability to control my dreams.....I don't see the sin there.

You will, however, find false teaching in the scriptures.

I'm sorry but you will not find false teaching in scripture. I'm sure you meant warnings against false teachings.

I don't believe I'm trying to push this on anyone. So if you're labeling me.....please don't.

Tell me, why would a Christian need to find out more of their "self" when they have laid their "self" down for the Lord?

Can you show me where this is a sin and not just your opinion?

Isn't "fantasy fulfillment" not being satisfied with where God has placed you?

It is to you, but not to me. Don't you have a thread that addresses your need for solitude? Are you not satisfied where God placed you?

Look, I really don't want to get into an argument over this....it's dumb.

Fantasy Fulfillment.....as long as I don't take it down that sexual road, I think I'll be ok.

If I can do things in my dreams that I can't in real life, where's the harm in that? Just because you think it's bad, does not make it bad.

"Emotional healing" would also mean that you are not trusting God to help and that you do not have the fruit of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Have you ever been to the doctor? Have you ever taken asprin or something for a cold or flu? Have you ever been vaccinated? These might not fall under the heading of "Emotional Healing", but you still sought help from a source other than God. Did you not have the fruit of the Spirit or am I just being nitpicky?

Tell me, how is this honoring God?

Tell me how you honor God in your sleep?

This is seeking through New Age what God has already given you.

How do you know these are not God given abilities? I'm not saying they are, but how can you say they're not?

You make the assumption that I'm into this New Age thing. I've got over 2000 posts on these boards. Go and read'em. You won't find an inkling of this "New Age" theology you speak of.

As I said before, I don't try to do what I do....it just comes to me. I don't ask for it, I don't pray for it, I don't go looking for ways to enhance my sleeping experience.....it's just there.

Check this out...

You're assuming that I'm making movies in my head and that I can't tell the difference between good and evil.

There is a difference between visions and dreams.....trust me......I know.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
