This is from John:

That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

It says gives light to every man does that mean that every person born gets light?

What chapter and verse?

John 1:9????

If thats the verse it just means the light (Jesus) was for everybody, it doesn't mean every one will walk in the light however.

That's a good way to explain it.

As it says just after:

John 1:10,11

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

John 1:9 That was the Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

He who is the Christ. Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior is the Light. And He is there for all to see. A Light upon my path, a Lamp unto my feet.

Don't know if I can add anything to what already has been said but the Light was already in existence before it was created and shown in this world as Jesus was that light that came down from heaven and all that believes on Him then they have that true light of life no longer walking in the darkness of this world. Not every man will choose the light but God sent the light Jesus Christ so that whosoever will can be saved.

It says gives light to every man does that mean that every person born gets light?

It simply means that God made a way of salvation for everyone that is born on the earth and that way of salvation is to accept the sacrifice that God sent being God's only begotten Son Jesus Christ as He was the sacrifice given for our sin. There is a natural light and then there is a spiritual light.

Hope have helped.

My translation says, "All things were made by him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men, . . . That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."

I understand the verse to be saying that everyone born into this world is born spiritually alive . . . but when we willfully choose to do wrong after receiving conviction of the Holy Spirit that something is truly wrong (sin), we spiritually die. Certainly, I have found no verses to the contrary.

Below are some scriptural reasons . . .

Pr 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Pr 13:9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

Pr 20:20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

Pr 24:20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Lu 11:33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Ro 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

That is why we must be spiritually born again

Ps:51:5: Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Ps:58:3: The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Romans 3:10:10: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12: They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

We have no goodness. 1Cor:15:22: For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Only God's light can make us alive-Eph:2:1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

Please show how the above verses do not conflict, but rather are in a harmony with what Paul (the chief of sinners) stated below . . . unless, of course, the scriptures are inconsistent ith each other.

Did we have " trespasses and sins" when we were born?

Jesus was the light of the world. Read on further...

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. - John 3:19-21

Jesus is called the "Word" and he has come to this world to give us light in this world of darkness. The darkness being sin and the light also being the word of God, which is the gospel of Christ.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
