What I see in the churches today is in great part the fault of the men.

This statement seems to imply that women don't have a mind of their own when it comes to dressing themselves.

You want to blame somebody......blame the devil.

Everybody's responsible for their own actions.

A lot of the women I know feel pressured to dress to please their husbands; hopefully, to try and keep his eyes from roaming. We also feel like we have to look as good as the "world" and it shouldn't be that way. Many churches are just too worldly also. We really have a lot to consider but I feel if we all or just part of us would stop and dress like we feel a Christian should - I mean there is courage in numbers.

God Bless

I'm all for more modest clothing for women.....some of things I see, even at work, are ridiculous! Cleavage seems to be the order of the day (watch the early morning t.v. news shows!). Half the women I see shouldn't be wearing short, tight, or midriff baring anyway....not at over 200 pounds. That being said...those 'brothers' need to practice some modesty in their own dress, especially when wearing shorts, cease going shirtless in public, throw out the baggy pants that won't stay up, and get your minds out of the gutter; it's not a woman's responsibility to keep your thoughts pure. If you're stumbling in your walk it's probably your dirty mind that you're tripping over. :24:

I agree with you 'glory2000' there needs to be more modesty in our society both men and women. If one don't know what modesty is then it is "Cover It Up" it not really about what you wear or don't wear but it is about keeping it covered.

I'm all for more modest dress for men and women. I just don't think women should be responsible for men's thoughts. Nor should men think that they are not immodest when they dress in very little. What about causing us women to stumble? Huh? :24:

It took 2 months for us to find a modest swim suit for my 7 month old grandaughter. All the swim suits were bikinis or one pieces with circles cut out on the sides or high cut legs.

We finally found a one piece with a skirt that goes well over the bum.

It's amazing that even at 7 months, the market is supplying slutty clothes for her

I don't mean to sound harsh or rude, but you shouldn't worry about what other people think. If you want to dress the way you feel a christian should dress, then do it. Who cares what the world thinks.

The world isn't going to be standing next to you when you're standing in front of the Lord. It's gonna be just you and Him. Think about that.

Just because we live in this world, doesn't mean we have be a part of it.

Again, I apologize if my words have a bite.....I don't know how else to put it.

Very sobering thought when you put it that way. :24:

But it IS woman's responsibility to help keep mens thoughts pure, that's why God made us so different. Even science knows that men are very visual by nature, and women are not. Women who don't dress modestly are playing dangerous games. I'm not saying I am perfect in this either...I fall into it sometimes...can't even really tell you why :noidea:

Womens lib has definitely done alot of damage in this area as well as others

I agree with some of what you wrote; men are visually stimulated and women who dress in a provocative manner are "asking for trouble." However, it is not my responsibility, nor yours, to keep anybody's mind pure. Who can do that? Nobody! All we can do, either sex, is live our lives to glorify G-d with the measure of light we have attained thus far in our walk. After that, each man (or woman) is responsible for their own thought-life.

Yes, I've seen men dress inappropiately too. Pants too tight, muscle shirts or no shirt at all.

No problem. I do dress the way I feel God would have me to but I understand the peer pressure that women are under.

We can't lay all the blame on men or say they just have a dirty mind. We need to do our part by dressing decently. The Scripture comes to mind, "Am I my brother's keeper?"

Women can dress as sexy as they want to please their husbands -- at home. And vice versa.

But to me, there is never a place in public for string bikinis (or any bikinis, for that matter), extremely short, tight, or revealing clothes, cleavage, etc., for any age.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
