I think we are forgetting something:

Matthew 23

37"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing. 38Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"

Jesus is addressing Jerusalem! :)

Interesting, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord," comes from Psalm 118. Check it out and compare:

Psalm 118

1 Give thanks to the LORD , for he is good;

his love endures forever.

2 Let Israel say:

"His love endures forever."

3 Let the house of Aaron say:

"His love endures forever."

4 Let those who fear the LORD say:

"His love endures forever."

5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD ,

and he answered by setting me free.

6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.

What can man do to me?

7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.

I will look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD

than to trust in man.

9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD

than to trust in princes.

10 All the nations surrounded me,

but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

11 They surrounded me on every side,

but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

12 They swarmed around me like bees,

but they died out as quickly as burning thorns;

in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

13 I was pushed back and about to fall,

but the LORD helped me.

14 The LORD is my strength and my song;

he has become my salvation.

15 Shouts of joy and victory

resound in the tents of the righteous:

"The LORD's right hand has done mighty things!

16 The LORD's right hand is lifted high;

the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!"

17 I will not die but live,

and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

18 The LORD has chastened me severely,

but he has not given me over to death.

19 Open for me the gates of righteousness;

I will enter and give thanks to the LORD .

20 This is the gate of the LORD

through which the righteous may enter.

21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me;

you have become my salvation.

22 The stone the builders rejected

has become the capstone;

23 the LORD has done this,

and it is marvelous in our eyes.

24 This is the day the LORD has made;

let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25 O LORD , save us;

O LORD , grant us success.

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD .

From the house of the LORD we bless you. [1]

27 The LORD is God,

and he has made his light shine upon us.

With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession

up [2] to the horns of the altar.

28 You are my God, and I will give you thanks;

you are my God, and I will exalt you.

29 Give thanks to the LORD , for he is good;

his love endures forever.

Capstone

Sorry He is not the capstone He is the cornerstone

Psalm 118

22The stone which the builders rejected

Has become the chief cornerstone.

Capstone is not necessarily wrong.

It actually reads "Roshah eben hapinnah" "head (cap) stone of the corner." Pinnah can also refer to a pinnacle. Roshah is a word that can mean first, top, head, chief, etc. So, capstone is not a farfetched translation. The verse gets the point across regardless of what word is used there.

No, because of what it says in Zech 12. According to Zechariah, when Jesus returns they will see him for who he really is, "they will look upon me whom they pierced, and they will weep for me as for an only child (my bible says son)." It reminds me of the story of Joseph's twelve brothers who, upon seeing him for who he was, wept and were bitterly sorrowful for what they had done.

The story of Joseph is a forshadowing of what will happen when the Jewish people recognize Jesus, AFTER he returns.

Ok, I get it, when Jesus comes back for the second time on the end of the tribulation there will be alot of people who have accepted the gospel, and the ones alive will accept Hi8m when they see Him ,remember the 144000 who will go out and preach? I believe alot of the Jewish people will become saved during the tribulation.

When Jesus comes back the people who have accepted Jesus in the tribulation they are the ones who will say "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord"

I read that the Jewish people used to be morning for a son more then a daughter, I don't know if that is true....but if thats the case they will be very sad when they realize that Jesus is the Son their forefathers rejected.

Do I get this right? :o

Angels

The cornerstone and capstone do thave the same meaning and I don't think that's important because they both stand for "Jesus"

At the end of the book of Matthew (23:39), Jesus is quoted making a very important statement. He says, "I will not return until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'" Because Jesus was speaking to a Jewish audience at the time he made this statement, Christians have always understood this statement to have one meaning: Jesus will not make his second coming until the Jews are converted.

Do you agree with this statement?

Angels

I totally agree with you.

I believe the whole pre-tirb doctrine is a complete deception of the truth. I believe Yahsua is coming back one time for bride which is made up of both Gentile and Jewish Believers at the end of the tribulation as stated in Mat. 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21.

God bless,

The phrase is interesting because it is close to what was spoken at the Triumphal Entry by the disciples:

As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles whcih they had seen, shouting:

              "BLESSED IS THE KING, WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!

              Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"    Luke 19:37-38 (NASB)

So the phrase will be used at Jesus' SECOND Triumphal entry into Jerusalem? Neat how it works in with Psalm 118!

25 O LORD , save us;

That is also the Psalm which is read at the end of the Passover seder as part of the Hallel. It is part of the hymn sung by Yeshua and His disciples when they celebrated Passover just before His Crucifixion

Perhaps Yeshua is both the Cap-stone and the Corner-stone...the Aleph and the Taf...the Beginning and the End.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
