what is the roll of a minister?

what is the roll of a pastor?

what is the roll of a deacon?

what is the roll of a servant?

is not a minister a servant? a servant of God, serving the people?

is not a pastor, also a servant? a servant of God, serving the people?

how about that of a deacon? again, they are a servant, one that is an extension of the pastors arms, serving the people.

and the roll of a teacher is the same, a servant of God serving the people.

who really sits under who?

even Christ submitted to the authorities, unless they were out of line with the Word of God, and He is the Son of God.

even Christ was ministered to, not by just man, but by the angels.

there are things to be learned from people of all ages and all levels of Christianity...... including sitting under a three year old young lady that is bringing forth a message from the Lord, and praying over other children as well as her sunday school teachers.

when a person is learning from some one else, they are "sitting under them" even if it is only for a moment.

allow the Lord to work through whomever He chooses.

mike

Amen!

Satan has attacked the church in 5 areas: The workforce (he halved it), men and their ministry (affected by Pride), women (abuse, denigration, denial and robbed of identity), God's character (bias against women shows the world that God is unjust), God's image (Satan uses the rejection issue and emotional woundings to destroy the revelation of the image of God through the unity of man and woman in all areas). Satan hates us, folks! He loves this discord and this misunderstanding of God's intent for all of us to be equally serving Him, shoulder to shoulder as He created us in the first place! In Christ, we can show the world exactly how it is supposed to be...not buying into the culture that has hated women for centuries. The Greeks hated women, and the Romans also. That is how our culture is influenced.

Amen 'Floatingaxe'

Satan also hates children because of their innocence.

Hi, Dave,

I don't want to get all wordy about it, but suffice it to say, the Church, men taking the helm, has misinterpreted the scriptures concerning our roles. It is the bias of the great Greek and Roman empires that has pervaded each generation, fading only slightly as the Church marches onward. The hatred of Satan toward woman has been made a subtle, palatable thing--- but denial of service is not so subtle to a woman who is gifted and called by God. He holds everyone, male or female accountable for saying, "No" to God, or standing between a called woman and her LORD.

With all due respect sister, That's not an answer and now it seems as if you stand and point your finger as the accuser of your brethren. Excuse me for saying so but you are laying a charge against Gods Elect. I would suppose anyone who speaks such grand accusations would want to back them up with example.

I will say this, Gods Church stands for women. We desire that they remain Holy and Married to one man the same way we stand for men and require that they remain Holy and Married to one woman. We fight for Life in and out of the Womb and for the Right of a woman to Love her child and not murder it then reap the consequences of such actions the rest of her life. We stand for Chastity in our Youth because God Loves them and no one has the right to steal away a young womans self esteem which comes from that very Love of God.

These are just a few examples of how I see the Church standing for women.

I have to tell you that Eastern societies tend to more Patriarchial and Paternalistic than the Western Powers that you cite.

Can you please cite a few examples of how the Church has signed onto and embraced the hatred of women?

Peace,

Dave

I don't think our culture is influenced by Greek and Roman influence at all today. It is however influenced by the sexual and social revolutions of the 1960's which are essentially destroying the family, we can be thankful that Christians are standing up for the family and God's plan for the family although with great difficulty. Taking traditional biblical stands on some of these issues will seem very un-modern, but I think that is the point.

As far as Greek and Roman culture goes I would much prefer that influence over the influence of Gloria Stienham and Margaret Sanger.

I am not pointing fingers at individuals, but rather pointing out the problem of the pervasive philosophies that were embraced in ages past, authored by sinful man, aided by Satan and not completely eradicated by the Church---yet. God Himself sees how the Church has not moved too swiftly in establishing the equality that He Himself desires, and created us to have in Christ, the great EQUALIZER.

It is a subtle form of misogyny to deny women the the mantle of their anointing by God as many have been so-called into ministry and been forced to withdraw to other means of service. God's Plan B.

Grace to ou,

I still don't see any examples of what you are accusing the Body of Christ of doing. I didn't state that you were accusing any specific members of the Body but the Body in general. You still have not cited any specific examples but only made a general accusation which remains unfounded and quite bold. I offered several examples of how I feel the Body Blesses woman and provides for their protection in accords with Gods Word.

What philosophies does the Church practice in regards to sinful man and have been authored and inspired by satan?

I fail to see where woman are not treated fairly and in general equally with regards to Salvation and the covering Grace of our Lord. :24: I also fail to see where they have been denied a mantle and what mantle would you be speaking of specifically?

You will have to unpack your thoughts for all to see rather than making general unfounded accusations, please.

Peace,

Dave

I think women are called to be in "ministry" in numerous forms, including preacher, evangelist, and leaders in various functions, prophet, and on and on. There are really only three titles that are reserved for men, but today many congregations don't even have that form of organization or title anyway. So in those cases why not have women take any role?

My congregation and our denomination will never ordain women to be a Bishop, or Minister we base this not on any passages about women being quite in services or being able to teach, or about our view of the abilities of females, which are obviously qualified to do any role; (I mean they can run major corporations I think they can run a little congregation) but simply on the stated biblical requirements to hold those positions. Since those passages will never change, neither will our doctrine, so there is no debate about the topic.

However other Christian denominations have been ordaining women for many decades, so we do have choices depending on our convictions and interpretation of scripture.

I don't think we should tear each other up over this issue

Friends, my church is about to embark upon the "debate" of women in ministry, especially wanting to include women as deacons. I am on staff at my church as youth minister...(female youth minister, baptist church). I too have struggled with this doctrinal question...the questions raised in 1 Tim chapter 3.

I pray this issue doesn't split our church but i know there are many on both sides of this doctrinal question. Myself? I felt a strong leading 5 years ago to serve the youth in my community as youth minister. It's the strongest leading i've ever had from the Lord, a true calling by the Lord. My church completely supported me and voted me in....98% "yes" to vote me in. So i know the Lord calls women.... However on the subject of deacons in the church, this congregation differes greatly. I too, struggle with what the Lord wants us to do in the area of women as deacons. I'm prayerfully wrestling with this topic along with my church.

Would any of you be willing to give me your prayful insights on this topic? What has God revealed to you on this subject? How does the scripture read to you? Your interpretation please. God Bless!

JESUS gives the reasoning for this prohibition in 1TIM 2:9-15. In modern churches, the decision to ignor the teachings of the scriptures is increasing. All of these guidlines and rules are from GOD and should be obeyed. It is possible for a woman to facilitate a classroom setting as long as they are not doing the actual interpretation of scripture. In other words, they are not teaching, they are passing on the teachings of the Pastor. Deacons are not in a position of authority as much as they are in the position of servants. They serve the Pastor by serving the congregation. The Pastor is the one in Spiritual Authority. He determines the proper interpretation of the scriptures and, hopefully, is the person who is directed by GOD to lead the congregation in all truth. Although there are many pastors who do not lead the cangregations into truth, some lead them down the path of compromise for the sake of those who support the church with money or time. The Bible is clear that a woman should not be in the position of authority.

On the subject of women keeping silent, this commandment is so wives would not show that their husbands had not properly instructed them in spiritual matters. It is an act of love between wife and husband that she not embarass her spouse by asking questions that he should have already addressed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
