OK Today at work my boss ask me a question I could not answer so anyone help. She even said if someone can aswer it it could make her decide to give her life to the Lord. This is not a Joke!!!. If in the begging God creadted Adam and than Eve from his rib. They had two sons Able and Cain. How did there wives come about and who did they have children with. My Boss thinks it was Eve since God created adam and eve and that is how human became in excitendenc. Does that meae Cain and Able haid kids with Eve or there Sisters. Then she said what about Noah. God flooded the earth and only Noahs Family was on the ar. So once agian they had to populated the earth with family from family. Right. She has me confussed. So why does God look down on Homsexuality but in the beggining condone insice. Does this make since or am I off base. Please help me and Casy understand. We are really not understanding this whole thing. We did ask some people and they saif Faith. That does not help me. I trust and respect everyones opinon

Adam and Eve were the first two humans. Although we are just give the names of a few of their children, Genesis 5:1-5 tells us:

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

The lifetime of people prior to the Flood were quite long and as you can see, Adam begat "sons and daughters". We know only 3 of the sons names and none of the daughters, but in 930 years of life he and Eve could have had over 500 children...and their children would have had many, many children and so one. The same would have been true for Noah's family. Noah and his wife had 3 sons and they each had a wife. When they came out of the Ark and children were born to them, those children would have married each other.

Remember that it wasn't until many, many years later that God told Moses to write in the Law as to which relatives were not to marry. Today it seems so wrong to marry a sister or brother, but even Abraham was married to his half-sister and when Lot fled from Sodom and hid in the hills his two daughters had sons sired by their father! Again, this wasn't forbidden by God until He gave the Law to Moses.

In the Jewish culture it was not common to list daughters in the genaeologies. They had other kids besides the first 2 boys

The definition of incest has changed over time, based on God's revelation. in the time of Adam and Eve, there was no other option and only cross generational incest was forbidden in Gen 2:24. This would have forbidden Eve from being intimate with her sons, or Adam with his daughters. Obviously brother and sister marriages were not forbidden in the time of Adam and Eve because this is where the children's children would come from. Eve didn't have children with her sons, or it would have been recorded that she was judged just like Noah's family was judged when one of his daughters slept with him.

Then in Leviticus brother-sister marriages (like Adam's kids and also Abraham and Sarah) and marrying two sisters (like Jacob had done) is forbidden. (Lev 18:6-18). in the NT it is revealed that monogamy is the ideal and there are restrictions on the polygamous in church office.

However, issues like these are not things which determine whether a person should or does accept the offer of salvation. The Holy Spirit has to bring a person to the place where they can say what is in my signature before they will sit still and hear what they dont want to hear.

Adam and Eve had daughters as well as sons, this is where the women came from.

It was incestuous by todays standards but normal by that era.

Your boss may just be baiting you for a chance to rage on about Christianity, incest etc. Very few people become Christians merely because they get one specific question answered, and there is always a counter argument to whatever answer you give, or a complaint about the answer. Be ready to hear her start an argument about the Bible promoting incest between brother and sister.

I once heard someone say that in the beginning the bloodline with Adam and Eve was so pure everything from them was pure. Then when sin came along it began to defile and deteriorate everything thus causing birth defects, abnormalities and so on. Then God saved the most righteous people from the flood and their bloodline was pure enough to start the whole process again. I'm not saying I agree with it or that it has any biblical backing thats just what I heard a preacher say once.

Seeing as Noah contained the same sinful DNA as his forebears, the same weaknesses simply continued on, pervading each generation to this present generation. That preacher, iif what you report is accurate, was wrong.

this one is easy you just need to take your time and alow the holy spirit to lead you and teach you when you are going over Genesis take your time it also helps if you have a concordance as this shows you things

i was taught as a young christian to stick to the bible but i wanted to learn who the people were what the villages were like and why the apostle paul said what he said when he was upping the corinthian church this was the church he planted

the origonal word was not preached in english so it helps to have hebrew and greek at the tip of your finger tips

at first i found the concordance hard but i am know forcing my self

eve was cains mother and abels mother but you need to dig deep cain was born first and abel was born second

we even do this in yugoslavia heard of the old saying kissing cusins ? you dont want to end up falling for your first cusin or end up in a relationship with your half sister

my family tree is big i am still adding things to my family tree when ever a child is born in the village i grew up in the childs parents registar the child but in certain parts of yugoslavia some parents dont do this and their is a reason for this the mother is the sister and the father is the brother

also this happens in Australia especialy in red neck towns

this is what i found hard when i first started to read the bible i would skip the Genaeologies know i am taking my time to go over the Genaeologies

what will help also is you can get books from the christian book store that has all the normal questions people ask these books are very good and they walk you threw the hard to answer questions and give you biblical refrences as well
