Agree! The way that people, especially women and YOUNG GIRLS dress over here is appalling. It seems to be the trend that the more you "show" the better and there are no shame whatsoever, even if you can see just about everything! Makes me sick, sad and angry all at the same time.

I often ask myself, what happened to basic moral values? Don't people, especially women have any self-respect anymore.

This world is sad sad sad!

It's the same here, Esther. On t.v., at the mall, in the office....everywhere. And, even worse, most that wear this stuff are way too chubby to subject others to such visual abuse! :P

Sad to say BUT I have seen VISIBLE G-strings on young women AT Church...yes... :P

The Spirit-filled young woman whose thong strap I observed in a leadership school class would have been mortified had she known it was visible. I am glad it was only me sitting behind her.

I make no harsh judgment on her, as her character is impeccable in Christ.

We need to be very careful about judging.

Totally agree with you there!

Not to mention low cut, backless summer dresses and tops...this was at my own church. The only reason to dress this way, anywhere, it to attract and distract men. It's so trashy, low class, and in no way shows the desire to live by the Lord's commandments. :P

maybe they don't know any better

If they are true believers....they know better. I try not to judge but, as a woman, I feel that such things degrade all women and are offensive to the Lord. One shouldn't regard church as a single's bar. If they aren't true believers then, hopefully, they will change as the grow in their faith.

NOT judging.....discretion would be advisable though.

Come on women, we don't have to be rocket scientists to know what tempts men and so on....Church is NOT the place to wear things that are "in your face" OBVIOUS about "things".

I understand the emphasis on women and the way they dress in church. That being said, I went to a church in Lake Elsinore out here in Cali and the pastor was wearing a wrinkled, see-through shirt (yeah, I know he is not female but still.. I just don't need to be seein' his nips while he's preaching :P) and some worn out pair of jeans. Not cool!!

Otherwise, out here in Cali I am pretty much numb to anything anymore because tattoos, big earrings that stretch out the lobe, etc. are simply becoming the norm, even in church.

I do make a point of telling my kids they will wear nice clothes to church on Sunday regardless of what the other kids are wearing so I'm trying to do my part. :noidea:

That's not the only reason. Some women have no clue as to how men think. Some think they're just wearing a pretty dress. Young women need to be taught, not judged until after they've been properly addressed.

Someone needs to be teaching the men to avert their eyes and control their thoughts the way the Word teaches them to.

Maybe we're not all on the same page. The blatant "let it all hang out" type clothing is usually not up for debate as far as being okay to wear to church. The thing is, how short is too short for a skirt? Some people think anything above the knee is too short. And for some men, anything above the knee would cause them to lust. Does that mean it's wrong for all women to wear skirts that don't hang down below their kneecap? What about a sundress that may hang below the knees, but it has no sleeves? And so on...

There truly is no set "dress code" we have to follow. And talking about what women should and shouldn't wear to church, I believe, is walking a very fine line with the judgemental. It is between the woman and her Lord. I don't know what the men I come in contact with will lust over. And I truly don't think I need to concern myself with it. (I need a little icon that ducks right here!) My aim is to please my God. Period. If I wear something inappropriate, something I know God doesn't want me to, causing a brother to lust and stumble is just one of many problems I be having! The motive for the apparel I chose shouldn't be whether it will cause men to lust or not. The motive for what I chose to put on my body needs to be the same motive I have for everything else I do: to please my Lord. (Note the word "need" in previous sentence; as opposed to "is". :noidea: )

Thinking I chased a rabbit there. :P

not everyone who goes to church is a christian and shouldn't be looked at by christian standards

Okay, you've got a point there, Charitow. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell. I really try NOT to judge but I wish that parents would teach their kids decency and common sense....it's mostly the very young who are clueless.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
