How about this: a teenager comes home with her coat covered in spit--I mean soaking in it--because she is a Christian. She regularly got things thrown at her, everything from eggs to erasers to keys. One person grabbed a ponytail one time and threatened to beat the snot out of her if she didn't get off the bus. She lost jobs. She lost friends. This went on for over 30 years and she still loves the Lord.

That was me in junior high and high school, and continues to this day. In fact, I believe the real reason I lost my job at McDonald's, and the reason I went through such garbage with the manager I had problems with, is because I chose to wear a Star of David. As I continue to do. I have experienced real honest to God persecution for my faith and it started in my own household.

Got news for you---if you don't get the Voice of the Martyrs newsletters, you should. The brothers/sisters over in the restricted and hostile countries are growing in faith, and it's because of persecution. And they are praying that we experience what they are going through, and we will soon. It's coming so get ready, folks. This ain't nuttin compared to what's coming. Prepare to get your martyr's crowns, folks.

Gotta wonder what it is that draws that kind of reaction....

 The way you posted this makes it sound like you are blaming Anita for the way others treated her.

Yes, I would really be interested in hearing your explanation. I can guarantee you that I did not do anything to cause these things to happen. My simply standing up for Christ in the classroom is what prompted all of these things.

Now if you want to accuse me of something, oh, please---let's put the cards on the table here. Let's all be honest. What do you want to accuse me of--imagining that my coat was covered with spit? Imagine trying to explain to my mother why my coat was soaking wet on a clear day when there was no precipitation in the air.

All I can say at this point is think what you want, it happened. It still happens to kids who know Christ.

No, students are not stupid, but they are very impressionable. Things like Wicca and Eastern religions are very cool on the surface and if a well respected and liked teacher was to present them it would be very appealing for a teenager. Even as it is today, almost 8 out of 10 youth fall away from the church when they leave home after high school. Having an admired teacher filling their heads with this garbage would not help in the least.

Yea, I remember being in High School, I thought that all that mythology stuff was so cool, the greek gods and such. I still remember the high school teacher that on his birth day played a "Yes" album in the classroom, and I have listened to them ever since. And I have been out of High School since 1982. Teachers can make a huge impact on high school student.

First of all...they do teach stuff like that in schools. As I said earlier, my daughter has learned about buddism, hinduism, and greek mythology in public schools...she is in the 6th grade. What grade do you suppose they'll get around to Christianity??? Ummm...how about never. I am a very actively involved parent and I instruct my kids and review EVERY topic they learn at school. I've successfully taught my children to have a healthy mis-trust of their teachers.

The bible says..."raise your children in the way they should go, and when they are older they will not depart from it." Thats the key. Sure teachers can be influential...but a solid parent can overcome that by being involved.

BTW...I have NO problem with my children learning the history of world religions. I just find it ironic that with four kids going through public schools not one of them has even had a whiff of Christian history, and I seriously doubt they will.

No, just wondering if the definition of persecution includes a normal human reaction to bad manners.

It still sounds to me like you are accusing Anita of being a bad person.

You better show some evidence for this judgment you are holding against her.

In an interview with Obama he denied Jesus being the only way to Heaven. That right there should be evidence he is not a christian.

Considering the President's upbringing, no faith in the home, he's come a long way. Like the rest of us it's a journey of discovery that is ongoing. Those that deny the Christianity of others, and I see and hear plenty that do, had best be cautious. Ascertaining one's faith is a right that belongs only to the Lord.

By the way, for the record, the article is about "Christian bashing" and not "persecution."

As for Obama - I have heard one interview (with Rick Warren) and read another (forget with whom) where he was asked about his faith, and both times he was reluctant to talk about Jesus, and when pressed to do so expressed discomfort in talking about Him, but referred to Him as a great teacher and such. What I have yet to hear from Obama is a confession that Jesus is his Lord and Savior (Rom. 10:9,10).

So, if someone can defend how a person can be a Christian yet be uncomfortable with Jesus and will not publicly confess Him as Lord, I'm all ears.

Until then, I go by "If you confess . . . and believe . . . you will be saved," (Ro. 10:9,10) and "Whoever acknowledges me / is ashamed of Me before men..." to embrace or be skeptical of one's confession of Christianity.

Well, truthfully, that could just be your perception. Or you could be spot on. My point is that none of us knows for sure; only the Lord. Trying to stand in judgement of another's salvation is just wrong. I have personally have my own faith attacked, on another forum, and was told 'no way' I was a real Christian. Nothing could be further from the truth so....it's just better not to go there. :emot-handshake:

Perhaps . . .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
