Does anyone think the riots and protesting is going to help anything ? I think it's just going to bring worse division. Dont get me wrong. I was very sad of what happen to the man murdered by the officer. God does not want us destroying our country over anything. I had a brother who was murdered so I know how injustice feels. But it his to apply . I think the left is using this against Trump. So he is not reelected . And dont forget demon powers are at work to use things like this. Satan is behind a lot of political attacks. If this is so bad now. What will happen in November.4 points

Romans 6:1-4 (NLT) Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.4 points

Proverbs 29: 22-27 An angry person starts fights; a hot-tempered person commits all kinds of sin. Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor. If you assist a thief, you only hurt yourself. You are sworn to tell the truth, but you dare not testify. Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety. Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice comes from the Lord. The righteous despise the unjust; the wicked despise the godly.4 points

Matthew 1:21 parallel with Acts 3:19 and 1 John 1:9 and Romans 5:8-9 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.3 points

Romans 5:20-21 (NLT) God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.3 points

Interesting, The effect of the defeat of first Adam (OT) became sinners and enemies of God. Whereas, the victory of the Second Adam (Jesus Christ) already forgiven, restored relationship and became children of the most High God...wow super wow..thank you Jesus!3 points

It all depends. The study should be carried out in submission of God. It can be used to build great and enlightening bibical discussions based on what is revealed by God to be true. It can also be used to deconstruct and confuse a fallen mind that trusts itself rather than its creator.2 points

I want to ask anyone on Worthy if they want to join in this discipline me and a friend started. From the time we get up we pray two minutes to the lord about anything or to praise him. That is two minutes every hour till bed time. Also you can pray longer in your normal prayers. Like I pray for 25 minutes when I wake up. But on the hour a two minute prayer. It's not long but we can draw close to God in praying every hour. Only if anyone really wants to do this from the heart. If your up for sixteen hours that's sixteen prayers. I think we need to be a praying people of God. It seems to bring more peace to me. I feel more closer to the lord too. Me and my friend are doing this for the rest of the year. There might be a hour something happens and cannot maintain it. So the next hour starts it again. It's the spirit of devotion to our Father. That is the main thing.2 points

“So Jesus asked the twelve apostles, “Do you want to leave me too?” Simon Peter answered Jesus, “Lord, to what person could we go? Your words give eternal life.” John 6:67-68 Whatever you face today, be encouraged by the words of Peter. As long as you’re running in the right direction – to Jesus – you’ll find the grace and strength you will need. Unknown2 points

One of the greatest ironies of history, is that many Protestant Christian churches today embrace the King James Bible exclusively as the “only” legitimate English language translation… yet it is not even a Protestant translation! It was printed to compete with the Protestant Geneva Bible, by authorities who throughout most of history were hostile to Protestants… and killed them. While many Protestants are quick to assign the full blame of persecution to the Roman Catholic Church, it should be noted that even after England broke from Roman Catholicism in the 1500’s, the Church of England (The Anglican Church) continued to persecute Protestants throughout the 1600’s. One famous example of this is John Bunyan, who while in prison for the crime of preaching the Gospel, wrote one of Christian history’s greatest books, Pilgrim’s Progress.2 points

Thx Erica for your observations. I was an atheist for 20 years. A radical one. I hated all forms of even the concept of a god. But a very gracious Mathematician---a Christian---introduced me to the Dean of the Mathematics Department who invited me to his home. I was stunned to learn that men of logic could know the Lord. Yet, during dinner, he kindly allowed me to ramble on for a full 45 minutes. Then he said the following: "Coliseum, it is okay to search. But don't take too long. You'd better start finding." Although that was not the time God used to save me, it was a seed that never left. I would be taken to the point of death before I was able to utter these words: "If there really is a god, you must save me in the next second because in the one after, I will not be here." As certain were those words, that mustard seed of faith was enough, and God did not let that fraction of a second pass before He intervened. To the atheist, I can experientially say that i have been on both sides of the street and have every right to choose for myself which is the better side. The atheist has no argument and simply demands that he does not believe. He has no anchor and nothing from which to draw any real argument. When you cross over a bridge, you must test its strength. You do not send a cat over it, but a train. The bridge of his argument is too weak to sustain him and it collapses. At best, he repeats himself with the same disguised words---"I do not believe." It is his right not too, and that is where I leave it.2 points

The very first person I led to Christ was a friend trying to read the KJV. He just could not understand it and put the Book down. I gave him my 8th grade reading comprehension NIV and asked if he would keep it and take it home. The next day he was very excited to say he was understanding the message God had revealed to him, and he received Christ. God will always preserve the integrity of His word, be in the KJV or the "Fireman's Handbook bible." God meets us where we are at because if He didn't, we would not know where to find Him. It is not a Book that saves a man, but the Object of that Book, Jesus Christ. It is Christ, not the KJV or the NIV, but Christ alone.2 points

Proverbs 29: 15-21 To discipline a child produces wisdom, but a mother is disgraced by an undisciplined child. When the wicked are in authority, sin flourishes, but the godly will live to see their downfall. Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad. When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. Words alone will not discipline a servant; the words may be understood, but they are not heeded. There is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking. A servant pampered from childhood will become a rebel.2 points

When you read about the words Jesus spoke to the church in Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22), what do you think He meant when he spoke about being rich, wealthy, and in need of nothing? “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ” The words "rich", "wealthy" and "in need of nothing" need to be explored as on the surface one would thing it was speaking about worldly goods and wealth they possessed, so they are not in want for anything. But, is there a different meaning we need to be concerned with? Lets look a little deeper at the meanings of these words. rich G4145 πλούσιος plousios wealthy, abounding in material resources metaph. abounding, abundantly supplied abounding (rich) in Christian virtues and eternal possessions Notice when speaking metaphorically, we can see it includes Christian virtues and eternal possessions, not worldly possessions. wealthy (KJ says increased with goods) G4147 πλουτέω plouteō to be rich, to have abundance of outward possessions metaph. to be richly supplied is affluent in resources so that he can give blessings of salvation to all Again, notice the metaphorical definition, being richly supplied =in resources so that they can give blessings of salvation to all. in need of nothing G3762 οὐδείς oudeis no one, nothing This is the simplest of all as it literately means no one, no man, no person. Jesus, speaking metaphorically to the church, opens up a whole different view of what He is speaking of by doing so. When you apply the correct meanings we can see why the church is considered lukewarm and about to be vomited out of His mouth. By His words we can see how dangerous it is to think we have all we need; all the virtue and rewards, being able to lead anyone to salvation, in other words, thinking we need nothing else in life, we have all the correct understanding and faith. I see His words of a strong encouragement to press in, continue to study and learn, continue to grow in Him, to become more like Jesus in all humility. There is nothing I can think of that would be worse than to be vomited out of Jesus, no longer being part of Him due to pride and haughtiness.1 point

Hi Everyone I have noticed on Facebook lately, a lot of negative comments on posts. These posts range from current world events to posts in groups where people come together from across the globe, to share photos of views from their windows, yards or places near where they live. It seems that the current epidemic in particular has brought out a lot of so-called "trolls", who go about scanning positive, happy posts, and leaving their own negative, sometimes angry, hurtful comments. They often post comments such as "there is no God" or "Jesus Christ doesn't exist, and if he did, he wouldn't appear like that", and other ignorant, controversial and upsetting statements, which are obviously designed to incite heated discussions. I try my best to ignore these negative comments, and of course, they are always going to be there. Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I wonder why these "haters" don't just create their own angry, atheistic groups and stick together like we Christians do? I welcome comments on this topic, and would be very interested in other people's opinions and experiences. Wishing health, and blessings to all.1 point

Hi DDisconnect, Thank you for your input. I think you're right. Some people just seem to get a kick out of upsetting others or making them angry. It's quite amusing to watch. Yes, it's not worth getting into an online argument over! Blessings to you1 point

Hi Erica67, Your post reminds me of the saying, "You can't prevent the birds from flying over you but you can prevent them from nesting in your hair." Scoffers, scorners, and naysayers have been around since Cain slew Able. There are steps we can take to minimise our exposure to them online, and some sites are just not worth lingering on after posting evangelistic material. Obviously @DDisconnect was touched by the Gospel at some juncture so enduring the pushbacks from atheists in order to witness is definitely worthwhile if God leads you to do it. Psa 1:1-6 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; (2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. (3) He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. (4) The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. (5) Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. (6) For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.1 point

Romans 5:20 parallel with Romans 7:7 (NLT) God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. Romans 5:17-19 (NLT) For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.1 point

Debp So very true. So many people caught up in LEGALISM and RULE KEEPING, have no idea how understanding and loving and kind God can be when we have no control over our personal situations. How much God loved King David INSPITE of his sins, continually amazes me. How gentle and merciful our God can be when we are trying because of our love for HIM, but we fail, and He allows us to get up and try again, and again, until we get it right. God bless all who stop by. My name is OLIGOS1 point

My First cassette tape I owned as a kid was Jim Croce's Greatest Hits, I Know he is not British, but I could still sing his songs from memory. too bad he died young, Airplane crash I believe was the cause? Here is one song of his. This was one of his last songs recorded. I Got a Name Jim Croce Like the pine trees linin' the windin' road I've got a name, I've got a name Like the singin' bird and the croakin' toad I've got a name, I've got a name And I carry it with me like my daddy did But I'm living the dream that he kept hid Movin' me down the highway, rollin' me down the highway Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by Like the north wind whistlin' down the sky I've got a song, I've got a song Like the whippoorwill and the baby's cry I've got a song, I've got a song And I carry it with me and I sing it loud If it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud Movin' me down the highway, rollin' me down the highway Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by And I'm gonna go there free Like the fool I am and I'll always be I've got a dream, I've got a dream They can change their minds but they can't change me I've got a dream, I've got a dream Oh, I know I could share it if you want me to If you're goin' my way, I'll go with you Movin' me down the highway, rollin' me down the highway Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by Movin' me down the highway, rollin' me down the highway Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by1 point

Conquistador has probably the best lead guitar break from the majority of Procol Harum's works. This one does sizzle! It's one of their last big hits from the early 1970's. I also have Robin Trower's Bridge Of Sighs LP. The title track is excellent. Conquistador Procol Harum Conquistador your stallion stands in need of company And like some angel's haloed brow You reek of purity I see your armor plated breast Has long since lost its sheen And in your death masked face There are no signs which can be seen And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind Conquistador a vulture sits, upon your silver sheath And in your rusty scabbard now, the sand has taken seed And though your jewel-encrusted blade Has not been plundered still The sea has washed across your face And taken of its fill And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind Conquistador there is no time, I must pay my respect And though I came to jeer at you I leave now with regret And as the gloom begins to fall I see there is no, only all And though you came with sword held high You did not conquer, only die And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind And though I hoped for something to find I could see no maze to unwind1 point

It have always found it wise to appoint a group leader, the most mature and wise person in the group, to be the head of a group. If you don't assign a leader up front, someone will self assign themselves the position. If someone like whom you describe keeps attacking another person, shut them down or tell them to leave. Groups are only successful if they behave like a team.1 point

I do share a sense of something "impending" and I can only relate it to what He's been focusing me on for quite some time already. And of course He speaks to me most clearly on the things that impact me, relate to my call and my location. I'm in the US and it is my conviction that the US is facing a very severe disciplinary event. I hesitate to use the word judgement, but it may truly turn out to be that. There is a lot behind this and there is no way I can or will try to translate this sense of immediacy into days or weeks or years. He did not tell me any dates. It just *feels* like it could be soon. I could go into great detail but I don't have any sense He's telling me to shout it from the rooftops for now. It's no secret either, but IMO it's a good time to really be spending time in His presence and listening.1 point

I have come to about the same place. I'm describing myself as a "follower of Jesus" more and more these days because even "Christian" has become so confused, meaning so many different things to different people I can never be certain what the person is "hearing" when I say Christian. Accepting a denominational label went out the window years ago.1 point

I don't think any man or group of men is capable of doing anything to bring unity to the Body. And thank God I don't need to. Our unity (and John 17 is a literally breathtaking view of it) is IN HIM. All I have to do or CAN do is present myself to His presence and let Him manifest my "oneness" with HIM. When He gets that where it needs to be, I in Him and you in Him, "our" oneness is already a done deal. Trying to get "us" to manifest oneness in the Body is just an exercise in the flesh, and will produce nothing good. I am commanded to love, seek peace with and serve you, but that's not unity ...oneness. It might help a lot of things but manifesting unity is something only He can do. Focus on Him. He'll take care of the rest.1 point

all of this intellectual arguing about topics like this is going to disappear soon as wholly irrelevant. We're going to one day be thrust into circumstances where our very survival will depend on hearing His DAILY instructions to us personally and instantly obeying them. How can I possibly stand in judgement of a man HE told to run for office? Told NOT to run for office? I have my hands full just discerning what He is telling me to do and overcoming the fleshy temptations to delay or disobey. When we get to a point that each of us is capable of receiving and faithfully acting on daily instructions from the King Himself, we'll find our efforts neatly dovetailing and tremendous power flowing through His Body. And we won't need some authority figure to tell us what to do. There will be ONE Conductor for one amazing global orchestra. I am personally convinced that is what we should be seeking right now, and in fact I think its quite urgent that we do so. I am not responsible for any unity in the Church, He is. I am responsible for whether or not I am making myself available to Him to manifest my unity with Him. He will take care of the rest of John 17. And when He does it will indeed be glorious1 point

I might have come at this from a different angle, but the message is the same if less eloquently expressed than the above. As I endeavored to put feet to that exhortation, I discovered that there is a "knowing" of God that can only be had in stillness. And I have never been able to truly be still without first isolating myself in solitude. Undistracted, One on one time with Him is not optional for the one who wishes to know Him. And those who engage this find great reward. Thanks for sharing. That's a beautifully rendered expression of that truth.1 point

DEAD MEN CAN'T SIN! lol...I KNOW IT....I have intellectually apprehended it, but I still fall in and out of BELIEVING it in my HEART where it counts. This IS the "work" we've been assigned...to BELIEVE!
