  3. Wednesday 1-5-22 Shevat 1, 5782 4th. day of the weekly cycle, 16th. Winter Day Matthew 22:34-40 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. 5. . . . that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. - Colossians 2:2-3 (NKJV) . . . I’m quite sure “the mystery of God” has to do with “the little book” because it is the focus of Rev. 10:7-10. We know God has foretold us all things pertaining to the events that will occur, even to this last generation. All of this was revealed to His prophets, including Moses, Isaiah, David, Daniel, Ezekiel, Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, Joel, Amos. Should this be a mystery or surprise to us Christians? Nah….Not if we have studied God's Word. For God has revealed every detail of what we will see and hear in His Word. Jesus said many times, "It is written,” and what is written will come to pass. All the prophecies uttered by the prophets and disciples, as well as our Lord, referring to these latter days, is what I think the thunders reveal. …. but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth." So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth." Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. - Revelation 10:7-10 (NKJV) Here In Revelation 10, I believe we’re still in the 6th trump. So the little book is open(unsealed). ….but hey, it seems the angel isn't about to just hand it over to John. He pretty much says, "Come and get it,” and so this leads me to believe that if you want the little book (the Word of God), then you must go and take it. Our Father doesn't force His Word down our throats, right? Want to be sealed of God? Then go retrieve the unsealed scroll and eat it! Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Ezekiel 2:9 And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; Ezekiel 3:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. Learning and understanding the truth of God's Word is exciting, and the taste of truth is as sweet as honey, but when you have digested and meditated on all that knowledge and can see the reality of what is happening in this world today and why, it can be pretty "gut wrenching," and perhaps is one form of bitterness. And I'm very sure there will be more bitterness; we’ll have to brace ourselves for the persecution that will surely come. selah

  6. I figured since it's the new year this old hymn should fit my outlook for the future at 2022 and beyond. The words may have been penned in 1923 but the meaning is no less relevant today. God WILL take care of us all. I made an instrumental take on this music with a few variations of my own. I added a cello part to it. originally included violin but I decided to pull that part because it was stepping on the piano melody. Violin is usually a lead part in the orchestra.. The "space" this was made in was 2C Precedence pulled about 35' back and using a felt piano. -Tim

  8. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. "If my people"; are Christians God's people too? Yes, we were grafted into the fold. These would be true born-again Christians. Collectively as one body of Christ (church), and individually, how many do you suppose are humbling themselves, repenting, and petitioning God to heal our nation? The church collectively has sat back and been silent, letting government do its will. Government has effectively replaced the church. Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. With the Lord anything is possible: On 9/11 America experienced a very brief revival. God appoints kings and rulers (in our case presidents). I sincerely believe Trump was appointed for a brief American Nineveh moment, to turn and lead America. I highly suspect national judgment is in progress. Our nation has been handed over to a debased mind. How else can one explain critical race theory; gender neutrality; sodomy acceptance, passing laws calling good evil and evil good, lighting up the White House in rainbow colors (slapping the face of God who placed it there), and so much more. With the following; think of America, or for that matter, Israels biblical history. Even some on the secular side get it. What number is America at? The Cycle of Nations: (1) From bondage to spiritual faith. (2) From spiritual faith to great courage. (3) From courage to liberty. (4) From liberty to abundance. (5) From abundance to selfishness. (6) From selfishness to complacency. (7) From complacency to apathy. (8) From apathy to dependency. (9) From dependency back again into bondage. --Sir Alex Fraser Tyler, A Scottish jurist and historian ‘Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.’ The quote is most likely due to writer and philosopher George Santayana, and in its original form it read, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” The biblical example is: When kings, leaders or government passes wicked and perverted laws, kicks the One True God out of everything, national judgment soon occurs. There is no such thing as resting on our laurels. We hear our national leaders spouting; One World Government, Build Back Better (better that what), the Great Reset (resetting what). I believe our fate is now sealed in concrete.

  10. Hi Joe, Here is what I think, but I can't say I have much time into it, just what I believe The mystery, not to us, but to the world it coming upon it. God is the One and only God. And the time is now for the world to know. The 'thunders' come after the lightening has struck, so the events are taking place and the explanation is is being made. What happens when the 7th angel sounds? Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. All prophecy REVEALED to be TRUTH. ALL questions about WHO is the True God answered and the truth of God and His righteousness is revealed and now the dealings of this world will be under His rule. We are in His kingdom and He is King. So, am I way off? I don't know but I like thinking about it. Thank you for the post.

  13. Okay, so we all understand that Christianity is more than just a religion or a set of rituals—it is the reality of knowing Him, right? In Hebrews ch. 7, Paul teaches us about the almighty authority and power of our Lord and High Priest, Jesus Christ, who alone can “save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them (Heb. 7:25)." No longer do we need to observe the law of ordinances which Christ "blotted out" and completely "took away" when He died on the cross (see Col. 2:9-17 below.). Why? ….because the law of religious ordinances of blood sacrifices to atone for sins, etc., including the keeping of certain days and performing ceremonies and/or rituals of cleansing, etc., cannot give anyone life. That is why it was necessary and promised by Almighty God that Jesus Christ would be a priest after the order of Melchisedec (Ps. 110:4). All the laws contained in ordinances were completely done away with when Christ died on the cross and rent the "veil" to the Holy of Holies from top to bottom, entering in as our High Priest once and for all time. Never again would there ever be a need for another high priest, for He is our priest forever, eternally, after the order of Melchisedec. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. - Colossians 2:9-17 (NKJV)

  15. I believe faith causes us to be what the law wants. The truth is the law is a curse for some and a blessing for others. We only need to decide which one it is for us. I am basing my conclusion off of: “But people who depend on following the law to make them right are under a curse. As the Scriptures say, “They must do everything that is written in the law. If they do not always obey, they are under a curse.” So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by the law. The Scriptures say, “The one who is right with God by faith will live forever.” The law does not depend on faith. No, it says that the only way a person will find life by the law is to obey its commands. The law says we are under a curse for not always obeying it. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us and put himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “Anyone who is hung on a tree is under a curse.” Because of what Jesus Christ did, the blessing God promised to Abraham was given to all people. Christ died so that by believing in him we could have the Spirit that God promised.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-14‬ ‭

  17. So let me see if I have what you're saying is correct. For instance James 2:18 - But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Is this a fair assessment?

  20. I've read this criticism article before and am aware of it. In the world of biblical scholarship, there's always higher criticism. It's been going on well before Augustine. Heiser's work is peer reviewed and accepted, he is not out of the mainstream. Acts 17:11 (KJV) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. I try to be a Berean; I check and verify what someone is teaching to see if it is so. I agree with 95% of his books and podcasts. I will not rant on about his critics, I have critics on here myself. I find Michael S. Heiser's theology, hermeneutics, and exegesis; exceptional, well researched and sound. To better understand the Bible, the people, the story, and the remedy; the Western mind has to think like the people of that time period and culture. What they read, oral tradition, thought and believed. Hence, the reason for Mesopotamian, Greek, and other historical literature. Greek mythology is not all myth, as with the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Titians, etc. Having 2 scholars with 180 degree opposing views, they both cannot be right. Where do we go to discern who has the correct view? We keep Acts 17:11 in mind, and dig into the Word and see for ourselves.

  23. The illustrations are taken from every day life. We don't have to labour this point with the parable of the sower because we know it still happens that birds peck away seed on the wayside, plants wither in stony ground and get choked in weed patches, but plants nurtured and cultivated in fertile soil do well. I think it is significant that the Bible does specify when the examples are parables, because this affirms the extant precedence and established practice of teaching by means of stories that take things from the natural realm and use them to teach about things in the spiritual realm.

  24. 1 Corinthians 13 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

  25. The law is not a curse because it’s bad. It’s a curse to those who depend on following it for salvation rather than depending on Jesus. It is a curse to try your whole life to do what is impossible. It is impossible for man to follow the law without ever breaking it. This is why we need faith in Jesus to be right with God. He who has the Son has the Father also, but he who has not the Son has not the Father either. There are people who believe in the Father but not the son. They depend on the law.

(Luke 6:7) And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse him. (Luke 6:8) But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come and stand here.” And he rose and stood there. (Luke 6:9) And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?” (Luke 6:10) And after looking around at them all he said to him, “Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored. (Luke 6:11) But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus. [ESV] The scribes and Pharisees were demanding all to keep the letter of The Law, but not the spirit of the Law. Jesus showed them their hypocrisy by His deeds.
