  2. Some people's interpretations of dreams are suspect.
  3. Jesus was with God the Father from the beginning. God foreknew us, being omniscient and outside of time as we know it. We did not exist before we were "knit together in our mothers' wombs.
  4. Rev 20:4. And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Here John could see the souls. Someday we will know what that means. I believe that the soul is the true self--personality, will, emotions. values etc. In heaven it will be cleansed of all sin and imperfection. However, since these souls had been beheaded we can assume that they are not connected to the earthly bodies. I don't really give a rip what any commentator says. Their ideas are pie in the sky if they are not founded on Scripture. I have noticed that those who think there is no immortal soul or salvation of the soul usually base their assumptions on the Old Testament. We have a more complete revelation of future things in the New Testament. I prefer to find my doctrine in the New Testament. Heb 10:39. But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. 1Pe 1:9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
  5. Sorry this is 3X longer than it should be. I agree with your premise. Servant 5.2k Gender:Male Interests:Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 6. I used to figure that when the word dried up it was time for me to put into practice what I did know, or what God had already revealed to me. He never let me get by with filling myself with "head knowledge" but forced me to make it truly my own by being a doer of the word. Then I would pray and ask God what He was trying to teach me in this trial. Sometimes He was humbling me. I always figured that God used the trials to keep me saved, keep my heart tender and teachable. Still, few were harder for me to endure than the type you describe. It was the not knowing why--if I had sinned, or what He was trying to tell me. But then this would make me seek His face more diligently and "press in". Eventually I discovered that He wants my fellowship most of all.
  7. Food to think about. Just keep my eyes on Jesus and follow Him. Do what He wants me to do--to express His love to a dying world.
  8. Grace is unmerited favor. It means that God is pleased with us because of what Christ did on the cross, and definitely not because we are worthy of it. We must know that we are dead in our boots, broken and totally without hope of heaven. Then we cast ourselves at God's feet as we cry out to Him for mercy and help, knowing that there is no hope in ourselves.
  9. Pesach has to do with the lamb that was sacrificed so the death angel passed over the home that had the blood on the blood on the door posts. I'm a bloomin' gentile and I know that much. It has to do with the sacrificial death of the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world so that death has no more hold on us who believe. We don't have any real idea when Christ was born, but there is some evidence that it may have been around Christmas. My pastor has a presentation showing when the stars came together to make it appear that there was an extra bright star. There were several periods--2 BC and 4 BC, and then he narrowed it down by the history of when the Herods reigned and died, and when they had to flee to Egypt. The upshot is that I know just as much now as I did before. lol. I still enjoy rejoicing in His birth. It is just mind boggling that our Father would send His only Son to us to reveal Himself to us through Him, and to die for us. Such love! Thank You, Daddy God. I also enjoy gathering with family now that we are mostly believers. I enjoy giving gifts because our Daddy set an example of giving His Son. Giving is an expression of love. That is what Christmas is all about. Giving to support God's work is also an expression of love.
  10. I consider the spiritual blessings of Ephesians 1 to be our true heritage. Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Eph 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, Eph 1:5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, Eph 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace Eph 1:8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, Eph 1:9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, Eph 1:10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. Eph 1:11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, Eph 1:12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, Eph 1:14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
  11. All of the Hebrew or God's angels are male. Pagan angels such as the Roman mythology are female or babies.
  12. Wuest said: "It is the publication of the gospel which produces belief in it (Alford). That is, as the gospel is preached in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit engenders faith in the gospel message in the hearts of those elected to salvation." Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. It is in receiving God's word as truth concerning Christ, His atonement for our sins by His own blood, and receiving Him as God having come in the flesh and suffered in the flesh. This is the word that saves. Jesus told Peter: Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. It is God who enlightens us, enables us to believe and to trust the message. Just hearing does no good without the power of the Holy Spirit to make it alive and real to us. Yes God can use your recording, but does He? We must be listening intently, searching for answers, seeking God. He who seeks, finds. Then, having heard, are we willing to believe? Most of the world is unwilling to believe God's word. To him who has, more will be given. To him who has not, even that which he has will be taken away. These are those who are unwilling to believe the little they do understand. They have hardened their hearts. Heb 4:12. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
  13. When people are grieving deeply no matter what we say it will be wrong because anger is a part of that grief so they lash out. Often it is the person in pain who falsely accuses, just as Job falsely accused God. It was correct to say that saying nothing can be best. And when our 3 friends falsely accuse us, don't forget to pray for them with compassion.
  14. The hard heads didn't understand He was Jesus Christ till our Father revealed it to Peter. Still they were slow to understand, thinking He came to be the One Who would free them from the Romans. He told them, but they had ears that could not hear. They were like most of our world today who hear but reject the truth. Only those that the Father chose and gave to Jesus were able eventually to perceive. Remember doubting Thomas?
  15. While I support the Australian Aborigines, my own family in Pacific Northwest USA have been forced to be vaccinated or lose their jobs. I chose to be vaccinated. People don't realize how severe the reactions can be to the disease. It can permanently damage our organs--heart, lungs, and other organs. My own pastor is in his 50s and has been bed ridden with it for several months. We have not heard whether he will be forced to retire. The rest of the world had been in isolation to avoid the disease. The aborigines do not realize that the government is trying to protect them and the country by preventing the spread of Covid19.
  16. I was off line for months till I figured out that I needed a new router. You may have to update your equipment again.
  17. Liked rock from the 50s through the 60s, and then collected Christian rock through the 80s. When rap took over it got boring. Back then the teens were passing around Christian rock and handing tapes out like the older generation passed out tracts. It was great to see kids getting saved and becoming solid Christians.
  18. Excellent sermon but we limit them 10 or 2o minutes absolute max. It leaves my pastor out as well--his sermons are rarely less than 40 minutes long. 19. I can remember singing this and chocking up, glancing at my hubby whose face was to the sky, tears rolling down and arms in the air. Someday we will all sing it together. What a day that will be----
  20. Revelations 1:5 NKJV and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, Jesus was the first to enter directly to heaven as out Great High Priest after His death. All others prior to Him had gone to the "Abraham's bosom", or the place of the dead, for moral people who believed God's promises. They trusted God. We are told that Jesus took His blood to the heavenly Mercy Seat. Heb 10:11 NKJV And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. Heb 10:12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, Heb 10:13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
  21. It would be more appropriate if the kids dressed up as Santa on Halloween. I would like to take the traditions out of Christmas. However, I don't object to celebrating a biblical Christmas on the 25th of Dec. since we aren't sure of the date. It is more important that we celebrate His Birth and death than what day it is done on. In the same way it is more important that we set aside a day to worship God every week and to spend time with Him daily than to celebrate on a certain day of the week.

    Two Days

I don't believe that they are the same day either. But it is not something that our salvation depends on, so I don't make an issue of it. It is wise to look for His coming and stay alert, whenever a person believes that will be.
  23. I like the lyrics but like the music of Walk Like An Egyptian better.
  24. Where 2 or 3 are gathered together God is in their midst. It is always better when we can pray with others and agree with them. That is supporting them as well. It binds people very close. A home group that is under the direction of a church is a good place to be.
