I read your entire post, word for word. My heart goes out to you. You are obviously suffering. My first advice is to listen to your doctors. As painful as it is, they are the experts in their field and are the best resources available for healing. If they prescribe you a medicine then take it. If in doubt feel free to get a second or third opinion, but don't unilaterally start or stop taking something on your own decision. My second advice is regarding the voices. If you believe they are spiritual then they are, and you need to treat them as such. When you hear the voices, pray to Jesus. Ask Jesus to help you. Ask him to protect you. Ask him to banish the voices so you may have peace. Do not give in to the voices. They are seeking to trap you. Once you give them what they want they will only grow louder and more demanding. Instead, continue to ask Jesus for protection. I'm praying for you. You'll get through this with God's help. Don't worry about not being strong enough. God has sufficient strength. Trust in him.

I would ask him to reduce the amount of fear I see in the world today.

Is the mandela effect in religion ? Is it biblical ?

The Mandela Effect is just misremembering things. 😳 -
I find many NDE testimonies to be quite compelling.

Wicked is a strong word. It implies a conscious choice to do malice. This is a far cry from incidental harm. For example: you have no knowledge of how a beggar will use the money you give him, although you may correctly suspect. By giving you are not contributing to evil unless you truly believe that is so, but even then you could be wrong.

It's fun to watch how people's heads simply explode around Trump. If you have any irrational qualities, Trump will bring them out for all the world to see. For that reason alone he was a good president. That said, we need a grown up in charge. DeSantis fits the bill nicely.

I meant no offense. There have been so many goofy threads lately. I just assumed this was another one of them. I offer my sincerest apologies.

I can't claim credit for this. It's been around for quite a while. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woperchild

The word "woman" is sexist since it includes the word "man". A better word is "woperson". Of course, the "person" in "woperson" is also sexist because it includes the word "son". We fix that by replacing "son" with "child". Woman => Woperson => Woperchild A woman is a woperchild. https://worthychristianforums-h45go6maxh5rpepgu.netdna-ssl.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png FIFY

Progressive Christianity - A Must Read [Truly]
LearningToLetGo replied to Jayne's topic in General Discussion
As Christianity sprang from Judaism, this might be a newer religion forming. Schism among the faithful have been ongoing from the beginning. -
It's not always easy to submit. That can be a challenge.

A man is honest, especially with himself. Do not let the world tell you who you are.

I admire her commitment if not her sensibility.

Be mindful of yourself. Project a calming presence. There are more ways to communicate than just with words.

"Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in[a] him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness." (Romans 4:4-5 ESV) By obeying the law we attempt to partake in an agreement whereby God will impute his righteousness upon us if we can conform to his regulation. The problem is there is no way a human can compel God to action. Obeying the law may be correct behavior but it still won't force God to save us. God's salvation is a free gift. He gives his grace to us not because we deserve it (not because we have earned it via our action) but because we don't. That's why it's a gift. That's why it's free.

Struggling with believing God's goodness
LearningToLetGo replied to Figure of eighty's topic in General Discussion
I don't mean to sound difficult but what would life be like if God did not allow bad things to happen? No crime. No disease. No war. No suffering of any kind. How would that affect human development? We would probably still be naked, living in forests. We would have no incentive to change, or grow, or improve ourselves in any way. We would be stunted, held back, more like animals than humans. In other words we would not be in God's image. Like it or not we need suffering in order to grow. God knows this. -
Look into Barclay's "The Daily Study Bible Series" of books. His commentary on John is quite extensive.

Same thing happened to my Mom. It was infuriating to watch. Most people are weak and can't handle such situations so someone is always put out to sacrifice.

Always! ;-D

I have been back home for two weeks now and continue to improve. Just today I strolled Costco with my wife and was able to push the cart without any difficulties. Afterwards, while shopping at Sprouts, a festive song played over the PA system and I found myself dancing. My wife was shocked. "You're dancing!" she said. "Well, yes I am," I replied. It feels so good to be healing. https://worthychristianforums-h45go6maxh5rpepgu.netdna-ssl.com/uploads/emoticons/default_emot-heartbeat.gif

If you marry someone knowing they have children with a divorced spouse then expect to see that person at family events. It's part of the package. Deal with it.

Romans 12:9-21 English Standard Version Marks of the True Christian 9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
