  1. Are you praying opposite prayers? As Wow has said you have the intelligence to know this guy isn't right for you! You know what the next step is, but won't take it. Sit down with pen and paper and write out a list of why he is Mr Right and you should marry him. Then write out a list of why you should not be dating him. Read the lists, sleep on them and read them again tomorrow. What ar you going to do? Mary him or tactfully say I know longer want to go out with you, good bye. God does not answer prayers when we already know the answer.
  2. The repeated proclamation of the prophets was to look after the widow, the orphan, the fatherless and the alien. They were to be protected and helped. That is the principles that society tries to apply today.
  3. Not just suffering but living without hope or purpose. There are no easy ways of witnessing to someone who has murdered there mother, so be gentle in what you say. Questions like what do you believe about....... Followed by what evidence do you have for that belief are useful in getting people to talk about what and why they believe and giving an opportunity to explain the gospel. Just be sure you can also answer the same questions.
  4. Excel it is unbiblical nonsence. God only forgives us if we repent. The entire Bible teaches the same thing. That if a sinner repents we Must forgive them. If they don't, can't or won't then we hand it all over to God, just as Jesus did on the cross, asking God to deal with it and we then pray regularly for there good. Every verse you have saying we must forgive is based on there being repentance and when there is that we Must forgive.
  5. Talk to your husband. Do you have to stay in your in law's house, can you afford to live elsewhere? If you can move. That is the only way you will be able to change things, by moving to another town.
  6. Walter and Deborah answered that. Jesus said if you Love me you will Obey my commands. Love is far more than a warm fuzzy feeling. It is action.
  7. Revelation 21:23-25.
  8. Peter and the apostles answered this, they were told by the God established rulers not to preach the gospel. They replied, judge for yourselves should we obey God or men. They continued to preach the gospel. We obey the government untill it tries to stop us serving God. If we have freedom to vote, to take part in elections, then those elections, those governments should be fair if they are not we can protest. If you are going to live as a Christian, spreading the gospel, living by biblical standards, are you prepared for the consequences? Christians and non Christians have lost there jobs for simple telling the truth, let alone talking about Jesus or biblical morality. As society gets more godless being a Christian, a Bible believing Christian will not be popular and will cost people there job, get them imprisoned etc. Are you prepared?
  9. Then please ensure that if you present the facts. That abortion is taking a life, that it harms the mother mentally and spiritually that there is a cost to the providers as they make money out of killing and kneeling body parts etc. That morality has to be based on something and that whatever that is affects every aspect of life.
  10. Love is caring for others on a deep personal, emotional, spiritual level that is also totally practical. A mother shows her love for her family by cleaning the house, clothes, dishes and by feeding, clothing and running after her family. Are you prepared to care at that sort of level for unlovely people? Because that is what Jesus expects.
  11. As has been already said suicide is not the answer. If you are contemplating it or know someone who is, please seek help or encourage them to seek help. I advice this for the enormous hurt to those left behind. If you are the subject of this post, please talk to your parents, siblings, friends about what you are thinking, get there reaction. Tell them the details of your problems. They would rather you did not leave them. So seek there help.
  12. What's going on in the world? Is a world living with no regard for God or his laws, as it says in judges. Everyone did that such was right in their own eyes.
  13. As I understand it, you have imagined a device that resolves fertility problems. So any story involving that device is not about the device but about the personal problems of the husband and wife as they work there way through the emotional and practical problems of being childless. The story set in a high tech society with particular views about fertility and with opinions on those who do not conform, the device is a way round the problem of being unable to conceive, it is not the main point of the story, it is a tool that enables you to discuss childlessness. That is why it is window dressing.
  14. The point of sci to to is not the outlandish psudo science, but the presentation of sociology problems in an unrecognisable situation or a police or military drama in a strange environment. Your psudo science is window dressing for the people based story. As for the second coming I keep it very simple. Jesus is coming again. I leave it at that.
  15. Micah 6:8 To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly before your God.
  16. May I make a couple of comments. First talk over the quote above with your husband and compare it to how the Bible teaches us to respect one another. Investigate the coldcasechristianity training method for young Christians and check out opertunities for Christian service in your town. The book, already gone from answersingenesis is another resource for you to read. Then I would suggest you arrange an appointment with the youth pastor and challenge him with dates, phone recordings etc of when he has belittled you or others for not agreeing with him. Take him to task on his behaviour and expect him to change. Breathed he will fight this tooth and nail, so keep professional, calm and polite even if he isn't and be prepared to record angry outbursts. Raise the issue of 'training' as aliased to teaching and link that to practice service in the church and town. ( Do the senior youth have opertunity to serve helping the junior youth or with a junior music group that actually plays in family services etc ) Relevance, well has he taught on racism, abortion, social justice. When was the last time there was a Bible verse memorising contest? Go with your ideas, but go with them written out so when you are asked to leave, because he doesn't want to hear any more, you can graciously leave but also leave them a hard copy of your points and also drop a copy off at the ministers with a covering note. This is stirring the pot big time and you can expect tantrums. Stand firm by the point that young Christians need a firm foundation of biblical truths to build there lives upon. Do end your suggested programme with the promise to pray for them.
  17. Jesus willingly faced the cross for the joy he would get in heaven, but I know of no verses where Jesus joyfully forgave sin. Jesus knew that forgiveness cost him, cost him far more than we can begin to imagine. Our forgiveness is not cheap, yet so many are willing to make forgiveness cheap, by doing away with the vital need of repentance.
  18. Jesus is the Truth.
  19. Because Jesus rose from the dead we have the certainty that there is a place for Christians. What reliancc do you place on the historic facts of Christianity? How do you know it is true? try coldcasechristianity if you need evidence.
  20. In the military there are things calloed, standing orders, one is taught about them in basic training and they are not mentioned again. like saluting officers. Evangelisation, obedience to Jesus, living a holy life are all standing orders for the Christian.
  21. Through out the bible the teaching is that forgiveness is dependant on repentance.. on the cros Jesus did not forgive his killers, but prayed to God for him to forgive them. That is what we do when we have offences against us and the offender will not or cannot repent.
  22. Irrelevant none of us know when or how we will die. All we can do is seek to live for God and to die as we have lived.
  23. Unfortunately this false teaching is very, very common in Christian circles, including here. People see the many references to forgiveness and the references to ' unless you forgive you are not forgiven! ' and assume that forgiveness is given without any need of repentance.
  24. Sorry, lots of denominations 'fighting' over the correct interpretation? Where? Please supply chapter and verse where this is happening.
  25. Salvation is all of God, he has given you the grace and the faith to believe. As eph 2:8+9 says. Jesus told us if we love him we will obey him and that is where good works come in. Not to earn salvation, but as a demonstration of our obedience and love for Jesus.
