  1. Learn to take a day at a time with God's help. God will give you the grace and strength you need as your days are. As someone else mentioned, I don't believe born again Christians will go through the Tribulation. Try reading the Psalms, particularly verses that are comforting to you and meditate on them. Let them become part of your heart/spirit.
  2. Hi Helena, of course, a Christian should always date a Christian. However... Is he a devout Muslim or just observing the holidays and avoiding pork? Is his family devout? If they are devout, they will expect you to convert. They will expect any children to be raised as Muslims. Of course, all things are possible with God....even the conversion of Muslims!! And, yes, many Muslims are finding Christ now. However, most of them are afraid to leave Islam due to being ostracized by their family or other Muslims. In some countries they can be put to death for leaving Islam. If you are able to have a conversation with him about Jesus....I would explain that God's holiness is so holy that any good works we do are still like dirty rags to God. We can never attain being good or holy enough to be in God's presence. This is why we all need Jesus as our personal Savior....Jesus was/is the sinless blood sacrifice that paid for our sins. He not only died for our sins so we can be forgiven and become righteous in God's sight.....but Jesus also rose from the dead. Jesus overcame sin, death and the devil by His resurrection....He lives today and is our advocate. The Holy Spirit also dwells within us when we believe on Christ, making us children of God. Believing on Jesus gives us peace with God and the assurance we will go to be with God after we die. You might mention the significance of Jesus' Virgin Birth.... Muslims believe in the Virgin Birth. The Virgin Birth was necessary so Jesus could be a sinless sacrifice. Also, stress the resurrection, that Jesus is alive. I hope you have a loving, Bible teaching church that teaches we all need Jesus as our Savior and Lord. Invite your boyfriend to church and see what happens. If he doesn't want to believe on the Lord, you will have to leave the relationship.... otherwise it will be an unhappy marriage for you. But hopefully, he will respond!
  3. Just ask the Lord to forgive you, and then seek to walk with Jesus in your daily life. In order to grow spiritually, pray, read the Bible and find a good church. We shouldn't fast to try to earn merit....as others mentioned, fast to feel closer to God.
  4. On a lighter note, did anyone see on the news how one scene had a Starbucks coffee cup in it?
  5. Pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit in how to minister to different types of individuals. Always speak the truth in love. Be kind and love them even if they reject you.
  6. Love is not always a certain way of feeling. Sometimes it is just a deep, settled peace within our hearts....that we know our Savior, and the peace He gives to us.
  7. I don't understand their fierce devotion. Our devotion should keep Jesus Christ utmost in our hearts and minds....that He alone is our Salvation. Give the glory to God, not our works.
  8. I have never seen the show.... always hear about it though. However, after your above description of it, Jayne, I have no desire to watch it.
  9. Some good replies already. You won't go to Hell for swearing if you have trusted Christ as Savior, however it is always best to watch our mouths as the Bible teaches us. We feel better when we speak in a nicer and kind manner and also we want to be a good representative of Christ. Sometimes it's hard to avoid hearing bad language in public...I just think "oh I don't like that when I hear the words". It helps me.
  10. Just be yourself and talk to your heavenly Father in a natural way. Of course, we do reverence our Lord, but pray knowing He loves you.
  11. To whom else can we go but God? He gives peace and rest to our souls. When I suffer, I keep looking to Jesus. Also, I try to take things a day at a time with Jesus, my Savior. He will get me through the trials.
  12. It is a mystery how God touches our hearts so that we now have an inward change. As a result of this, we desire to walk worthily of our calling in Christ... following the law now written in our hearts.
  13. BorderCowboy, I also enjoy your posts. Maybe you just need to stay away from certain topics in the forum. That's what I usually try to do as I don't like debating. Sometimes debating is necessary, but if you come here for some friendly discussions, look for those types of topics. Also, if someone gets rude with you, report them. There is a spot for doing that in the upper right corner of each post. Hope you will stay.
  14. San Diego area, a shooting has occurred this afternoon at a synagogue....1 killed, 3 wounded. It's considered a hate crime, on last day of Passover. A 19 year old is in custody.
  15. Again on the news... A home owner woke up to find his car door open. He checked his video and saw a bear ambling up to the car overnight. The bear used the car door handle and opened the car door! He opened it with no problem at all! He slowly ambled off as the car alarm sounded.
  16. You're quite welcome! I am enjoying it immensely, too! Thanks everyone for making our hearts merry....good medicine. You had me LOL. Wish I could have given you 3 laughing emoticons! Even told my mother your story just now....
  17. Yes, Jesus is my assurance, too. What a wonderful thing to have the peace of God in our lives...knowing we are secure in Him. We don't need to fear, but can rest in Jesus. He has paid it all.
  18. On the news yesterday... There was a huge herd of sheep grazing adjacent to a man's backyard. The man wanted to show his little girl the sheep so he opened his wooden gate. The entire herd made a beeline for his yard and totally filled up the yard! Wall to wall sheep. It was really funny. Plus after a bit, his wife was getting upset and telling him to get rid of the sheep! She then started to jump up and down on a trampoline while hitting a tamborine! The man finally went through the gate and the sheep followed him....trying to escape the tamborine I guess!
  19. Well, for now I would "love your neighbor as yourself." Of course, we don't believe that lifestyle is right, but we can still be loving towards all people. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Pray for them. Let your light shine. Hopefully they will come to know Jesus, too, in the future. I hope you find a loving, Bible teaching church where you can be supported in your faith.
  20. Don't worry about dreams or numbers. A cousin once asked me if she should change her phone number as it included 666. I told her not to worry about it...just a phone number. Remember you are accepted in the Beloved, if you are trusting in Christ.
  21. It's always good to laugh, don't you think? I like to look for the humor in things. Have you heard of a neighborhood watch coyote? During the night a car thief was scared off by a coyote who appeared out of the blue and very interested in him! The car thief fled, dropping the keys. So glad these homes have security cameras now to catch it all on video!
  22. Oh my, that's too bad. I thought I heard something about more falls there recently.
  23. When someone says how spiritually mature they are to everyone....thereby revealing spiritual immaturity and pride.
  24. I don't celebrate Earth Day, however I think it's good to recycle, don't litter, have electric or hybrid cars if you can afford one to reduce pollution. Solar power sounds good but of course I don't know much about it. Wind power sounds good. I love animals so if any are in danger of extinction, it's good to place a limit or a ban on killing them. Just my thoughts...
  25. Have faith that a miracle will occur later as time goes on. My dad was an atheist for years due to something he saw happen in the Catholic Church when he was an altar boy. However, the Holy Spirit worked in his heart later and just before he died, he seemed to be in prayer. Just try to live a sincere, loving Christian life towards him and pray for him.
