  1. Reading the bible and prayer would be my suggestion. When you read the bible, don't overdo it, read a chapter, study it, reflect on it, and absorb what you have read. Also, always pray and ask for understanding before you read. God bless
  2. I think a lot of this stems from the Catholic policy of not allowing priests to marry, and that is why it is not as prevalent in Protestant denominations.
  3. Back in the 90's the National Academy of Sciences released the only real in depth scientific data I have ever seen on the issue. At that time they were the beloved poster child of those trying to push this theory on everyone, but when they revealed their findings they became an after thought. I remember at the time one of the gentleman from that group tried desperately to get a chance to speak on the matter, but naturally since they no longer delivered the proper message the news outlets weren't willing to give them a voice anymore. According to that study, the data showed mans impact on the climate change was less than one one thousandth of a degree. The above mentioned study was at that time largely focused on the area of fossil fuel emissions, and I have seen absolutely no trustworthy or scientific evidence regarding that area since. However, in my own research I have stumbled across some compelling evidence of a way that man has indeed impacted the natural order of things. From the time measuring temperature has been available, someone has been recording it. People today will argue that early thermometers were not accurate measurements and such, so I am sure there will still be naysayers but the data we have still supports the theory. You can go back and look at the records for any city across the United States and see what temperatures were recorded there going back a long ways. What you will find to be true in every city, is that when roads began to be paved, and concrete was introduced to the surface, the temperature rose significantly. It makes perfect sense of course. Grass, trees, and other natural vegetation absorb the sunshine, for them it is food. Concrete does not do this very well, it heats up of course, but for the most part it is reflecting those rays back into the air. Shingles on your home do the very same thing, they deflect the rays back into the air. The only serious impact we have on climate would require getting rid of all the roads, tearing down skyscrapers, and coming up with new roofs for all our homes. The reason you don't hear about this is because those who claim to care so much about the environment aren't actually interested in doing anything about it. They will never give up their comforts.
  4. Probably not because we were warned well in advance that people would stray from sound teaching. II Timothy 4: 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. Sin and death replaced perfection and life, quite a change. The issue was two-fold, they now had the knowledge of good and evil, and direct disobedience to God. The tree of life wasn't guarded until after the fall, cause and effect. Why did they just not obey? Adam and Eve already had it all, they had the very thing that all of us are striving to obtain, paradise. When we are all in heaven at the end, should we remain obedient or do what we are specifically told not to? The punishment was exactly what God told Adam it would be. God cannot lie, so therefore the punishment could not be changed. Eating the fruit gave them the knowledge of good and evil. They were no longer innocent, it's not that complicated. God bless
  5. An invisible event would be something not found in scripture. In regards to this topic that would be any event outside of His coming, often referred to as the second coming by people today.
  6. The Word indeed clears the confusion. This is why not one passage of scripture supports an invisible event, but all refer to His coming.
  7. If the rapture happened yesterday then Jesus would be here ruling. Sounds good to me.
  8. Sounds like you are being too hard on yourself to me. If your boss says he likes your work then that is what matters. Don't overthink your way out of a good situation.
  9. Because it could save his life as well as other lives. As part of a civilized society, we have a responsibility to more than just the people in our little circles.
  10. No, to imply God sacrificed the person is putting the onus of the person dying on God. It is because of sin that people die, and sinning is not a choice God makes for people. God can and does use unfortunate circumstances to bring about positive things though.
  11. God doesn't have to give a specific number of days warning to believers. We will know what is happening if we know His Word. I Thessalonians 5:4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. Not exactly sure where you get this idea from, but if it is something you are reading into this passage you offer from Matthew perhaps you should consider what Luke had to say on the subject. Luke 17:34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. One will be taken and the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding together. One will be taken and the other left.” 37 And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” According to Jesus, they are taken to where the vultures are gathered. A bit difficult to explain that from a pre-trib position, which is probably why this passage is not often brought up. God bless
  12. If it puts lives at risk, absolutely.
  13. Ageism!! Oh no!!!
  14. Trick or treat?
  15. Can't say I've ever heard of a church covenant. Sounds like what the churches I have been to call a statement of faith though.
  16. I wouldn't change anything, but I suppose I would tell myself to enjoy life a bit more.
  17. Tyler, I think part of the issue is recognizing why you are doing the things you do. Now, if you truly know God then you already know you cannot fool Him or trick Him into believing you feel one way when you feel another. So, you're not putting on a mask to fool God, you are putting it on for other people. What you need to figure out and be honest with yourself and God regarding, is why you want to condemn yourself? What is it that you have done and/or are doing that makes you feel so unworthy? I'm not asking you to answer this for me or anyone else, but for yourself. Once you figure out the answer then maybe you can start with healing. As far as being divided within yourself, it is not that difficult. We are told to "walk in the Spirit", so you need to figure out what that means and get guidance from mature believers as to how this is accomplished. God isn't just with you when you are praying, He is with you always. God bless
  18. As others have pointed out, you sound kinda young to even be in a position for a long term relationship. My advice is start living your life, making friends, and getting comfortable in your own skin. Once you have established yourself with a career and some sort of direction in life, other opportunities will start to take shape. The first thing you need to do is learn how to become friends with women, and in doing this you will learn to respect them for who they are rather than to view them as something to possess. Second thing, women respond to confidence, your attitude about yourself has you defeated before you even get started. Take your time and enjoy your youth, it doesn't last long. God bless
  19. I think each person is different, and God deals with each person differently. Some require a heavier hand, and some continue to torment themselves over the smallest of infractions even after they have been forgiven the offense. I don't think it is possible to put us all in one box, just as a parent of multiple children would tell you that each child required a unique approach, so it is with God's children. Those are my thoughts, for what it's worth. God bless
  20. For years now I have been going to a nursing home in the area and singing for them. Think outside the box, if you are using your gifts to bless others, that is glorifying Him. God bless
  21. I think Paul summed it up best. Romans 8:38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. God hears your prayers, but His timing is not our timing. The answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no, and sometimes wait. Do I think or believe a dreamcatcher can somehow make God deaf to your voice? Absolutely not. If it makes you feel better, go through the attic and discard it, if it is still even in your home. I don't think it matters one way or the other, but if it eases your mind that is a solution. God bless
  22. I believe when you consider numbers, there will be a revival of sorts, as the Holy Spirit prepares the elect for the approaching day. As far as the country as a whole, I would say no in regards to the majority. It is pretty clear that morality is being tossed to the side at an alarming rate, even amongst people that most would describe as "good".
  23. Praying
  24. Agreed, which is why there is so much disagreement surrounding the issue even within the body itself. Welcome to worthy
  25. Keep it simple, stick to the good news of the gospel when witnessing. The Holy Spirit will let you know when, just be ready to act. God bless
