  1. A military without men of God, a frightening thought?
  2. 11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
  3. 9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
  4. 7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
  5. 5 The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises.
  6. I don't have any advice for you, hoping one of the ladies or someone else might. Just know I am praying for you both. God bless
  7. I think scripture covers this as well. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. God will provide for His children, faith is what we need to have, He will do the rest. God bless
  8. My pleasure sister, I would also offer this for your consideration, as it applies to your earlier conversation in regards to whom Jesus was speaking to. There are three accounts of this conversation in scripture, and the details of all three accounts are telling. Luke 21:5 And while some were speaking of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, Luke tells us that some were speaking, no specifics given, although in following verses he records these individuals were calling Jesus, teacher, or Rabbi. Matthew 24:3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Matthew tells us that His disciples came privately and asked these things. This would account for the witness of the three gospels which discuss this, and it is important that He is speaking to the very men who would start the church following His resurrection. Mark 13:3 And as he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Mark gives us the specific names of those asking, and we recognize them as four of the twelve. Pay close attention to the fact that John was one of those four, and his gospel is the only one that does not include this information. Specifically though why it is important to note that John was one of these four is this. Pre-trib wants to claim that this information was written to the Jews, a sort of pick and choose what parts of even the gospels apply to them. Now John is one of the four asking questions here, but in regards to this they say it is about Israel, nothing to do with the church. However, they will tell you that in Revelation 4 verse 1, when John is told to come up here, this represents the church being raptured. So it is telling, when a theory conflicts with itself, is John a Jew or is he representing the church? It seems to be that the idea here is whatever is convenient to support a theory, whereas I prefer consistency. Anyway, just some food for thought. God bless
  9. Hey ivy, Yes, this is sensible. what I always found interesting about that particular passage, is that it seems to indicate our prayers can alter the timing of this. "Pray that your flight is not in winter" suggests that the time could be in winter, or could be some other season depending on our petitions. Also note in that passage, when it says those in Judea should flee, that is also a clear indication there are those outside of Judea as well. The reason the people in Judea need to flee is because the anti-christ sets up shop in Jerusalem. Again, this is sensible, and supported by scripture. Revelation 13:16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. That will not be possible, but I can share scripture that states they will be around. Revelation 13:5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven. 7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, 8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear: 10 If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints. God bless
  10. Praying for you both laurie. Communication is so important in a marriage, praying that he begins to open up and that you don't despair. Regardless, you should continue attempting to communicate with him.
  11. Welcome to worthy Praying for you.
  12. The falling away has been happening for some time, as evidenced in your OP, and also in your words here. I wouldn't look at it as some future event, it has been happening for some time, and is getting worse each day. You have churches ordaining homosexuals to lead their flocks, churches that embrace pedophilia, etc. This is not some new or distant occurrence, it is ongoing.
  13. I like the ESV, to me it is the most accurate translation, particularly the Greek. NASB is not bad either.
  14. Maybe because that is not what I was responding to? This was what I was responding to, as shown in your quote. God bless
  15. Praying. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  16. I agree with Yowm, I think #1 is where the trouble begins. I would add also, that one of the most telling symptoms is the issue of depression, which has become very prevalent. I have often asked myself why this is, and I found this opinion to be very insightful. God bless
  17. Fight for your country, risk your lives for us, but uh-uh, we don't want you voting.
  18. Hey brother, Where is it before it comes down to earth? Because that is where John is during the vision, it doesn't come down til the end. Well, this is really the problem when we start to over analyze things. Above the sky, being the first heaven which we can look up and see with our eyes, is not limited to outer space, but also would include the third heaven. I think you are reading too much into this and limiting what "above the sky" means. I don't want to go around and round with you though, just wanted to offer this for your consideration. God bless
  19. Brother, where is God's throne? You are arguing about what part of heaven when the answer is found within the verse. You and I both know that God's throne is not in the sky above us, it is in the third level of heaven. Unless you have changed your position on this?
  20. No problem my friend, welcome to worthy by the way God bless
