Well, the old saying goes for me ... "God said it, I believe it, that settles it!"

The trouble starts when we try to add our understanding to His word where He has not been clear on the matter, and God knows I have been guilty of that in the past. When I do find myself siding with something that is not in scripture, I try my best to sit on it and keep it to myself. If it was important for us to know, He would of told us. This is the case of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. How long was it? Who knows? Does it matter? Not to me and I believe that He would of told us if it was important to us, but He did not.

There are so many mysteries in the bible that we could spend a lot of time discussing them, or we could use His word to be drawn closer to Him and do His work in our lives. Even though it is interesting to discuss them, there has been too many debates that have turned south on this one subject. I hope that this does not turn into one of those threads.

thankyou for this, i was just thinking about it today. there are so many unanswered questions, to us, not soon enough, to God,

He knows, when to reveal, and what to do. So thats why its important to ask for His guidance everyday , and those who can hear,

let them hear, and trust and obey. Let love be our greatest aim......

Isaiah 51:3

QUOTE

For Jehovah hath comforted Zion; he hath comforted all her waste places, and hath made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Isaiah 51:3 makes a distinction between Eden and the garden of Jehovah.

No, he is not making a distinction. It is what is known in Hebrew as a Parallelism. In this case it is same thing repeated in different terms. It is a form of Hebrew poetry.

Has made her wilderness like Eden is repeated in the same verse in a parellel structure: "and her desert like the garden of Jehovah;" It is called a synonomous parallel and is one of three common Hebrew parallel structures that occur in Scripture.

When we examine the Abodes of Satan, we find that Satan dwelt in Eden the Garden of God then in Eden the Garden of Man. They are two separate places.
I am sorry, but they are not. They are simply to different ways of referencing the same place.

Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan in the garden of eden. They ate of the forbidden fruit..

All men then therefore, were destined to die with no hope. When Christ died on the cross, all of that changed, now we can believe

and be saved, confessing, and growing in the spirit of Christ Jesus, having salvation to live for eternity. Today, people will still be

tempted by satan, his ways end in eternal death. Satan still tempts people, even though we are not, in the garden of eden.

BUT JESUS SAID, " I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD, I WILL BE WITH YOU UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD "

Genesis is a wonderful book. Imagine God walking the earth with you talking Torah everyday and just relating to Him. Adam had it all.

Throughout scripture, the genesis account of creation is referred to as "creation". While I will admit that scientists have been able to muddy the waters a bit on the subject, I am more inclined to believe in the young earth than the "gap" theory.

But, I do not really care that much about what there was prior to Genisis1:2. What I know is that evolution will never be able to explain this creation.

they just found a 47 million year old fossil named Ida.

do people still believe that Noah was mounted on a brontosaurus when he entered the ark?

let the explanations/excuses begin....

"you see what happened was....."

"what ther devil does is...."

"carbon has errors; im not an expert but what i thinks is...."

This is actually a funny post. Some people lay claim to something being something and you just take their word for it. We have a long way to go before this is ever proved. Some dating methods will date it at 1,000 years and some will date it in the millions of years. In the end, those who want to believe millions will discount the others as flawed and there is some form of contamination that seeped in. Those that want to believe in the shorter time period will point to the fact that the methods for measuring shorter time periods are more accurate.

And it will prove nothing. People of faith will "walk by faith and not by sight" and people of science will decide for themselves what they see and then declare it to be truth and everyone else to be wrong.

On and on and on...............................

I am a Biblical conservative or at least that is how I define myself. But it seems to me that the earth is more than 6,000 years old. I believe however that Genesis 1:1 is the story of the restoration of the earth from a previous state of existence. I believe that series of creative events recorded on the earth were 6,000 years ago. What say you? Am I way off base or close to the truth in your opinion?

Genesis 2:4--These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.

Genesis is not so much a story as it is the record to us of the beginning of creation which is evidence that there is a God that created the whole earth that we live in not only that but we can see all around us the nature, mountains, oceans, rivers and so forth the creation in and of itself is the evidence that God in fact is real but there are those who will not accept this knowledge in their minds and they are those who have been given over to a reprobate mind as a result of them who don't exccept the Lord as The Creator of all that is seen and all that is unseen. But God is maker and creator of all the heavens contains.

I do not think that the whole book of Genesis tells the story or record of the beginning that is created in Genesis 1 & 2 but from this place mankind starts forward living in the universe that God did make. But as man kept on forward there are those who did pray and adressed God in prayer the God of heaven and earth. But not all accepted or acknowledge God as you read further through the book of Genesis.

I am working off of the Scripture you provided. In addition, I speak and read Hebrew and can readily see the error in how you are approaching the text. In understanding Hebrew, I can recognize the use of the poetic genre and the use a parellelisms. It is common in Hebrew poetic form to refer to the same person, place or thing by different terms. I don't need to use any other Scripture than the every ones you are misusing to support the myth of the gap theory.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
