The "hatred" of Obama pales in comparison to the hatred that was constantly spewed forth for Bush, from all sides. The Dems weren't bashful about saying they wanted Bush to fail. And no one has said they wanted Obama to fail, unless his policies would destroy the country, and they will. Guest LadyC
huge difference RG. the bush bashers wanted bush to fail because they hated BUSH, the person. they bashed him on every level. that's not even in the same league as hating obama's POLICIES and wanting him to fail at pushing a socialist agenda. Guest LadyC
LOL, i'd say you need to spend time searching the dictionary for words that actually describe the situation. "justification" would be if we made excuses for hating obama the PERSON. now, that may apply to a few people on this board, but it certainly doesn't apply to very many of us. tell me RG, do you have children? because if you do, then i know you understand the difference between hating a person and hating their actions. And I *hated* what he did to this nation. But after all was said and done, I can't help but feel bad for him. I mean, he's going down in the books as one of the worst American presidents of all time. He is one of the most hated people on the planet. But I don't hate him. If I hated him, I don't think I'd feel bad for him. I prayed for him just like I am now praying for Obama. Anyway, this is a great thread and the responses are pretty reassuring--except for the occasional tit-for-tat plea. However, I'd like to hear from three people: Yod, Cobalt, and Butero. I would love to know you guys don't actually hate the new President despite your past comments about the man and his character.

Guest LadyC
RG, as i said, very FEW people on this board have expressed hatred of the person. the vast majority of us have spoken only against his policies and actions. since you are bringing this up in direct conversation with me and redwing, please, i implore you, point out a single instance where either of us have spoken against the man personally. Is this the way we are taught to live by Jesus? to do as the world does? That wasn't my point brother. My point was that both sides are guilty, including yourself, which you have admitted to publically here. I didn't justify a thing. However we must beware that our own hatred doesn't color our viewpoint, shouldn't we?

Out of sight, and earshot, of management....some people here at my company are openly hoping the same thing for Barack Obama. It disgusts me just as much as those who hoped Mr. Bush's plane would be shot down when he was overseas. I hated some of Bush's policies and I hate some of Obama's. I would NEVER wish harm to come to either of them though. Whoever is in the White House is MY President and I want him to succeed.
Guest LadyC
i agree we should all want our president to succeed, but the question is, succeed at what? i certainly don't want obama to succeed with his agenda, and policies. i want him to succeed at making this nation stronger and at leading us away from moral corruption. unfortunately, that does not seem to be one of obama's goals. Yeah - I'm noticing no one is jumping on board the news articles about the "stimulis" packages in defense of Obama. I don't mind the opposite voice discouraging hate and encouraging praying for the president . . . but how does the "voices" regard all this borrowed money Obama is increasing our debt with? More billions were signed away today . . . behind closed doors! So, you guys who are rebuking us . . . what do you have to say about these things?
