I have a depression struggle, too. And I've learned a lot about it in order to deal with it.

Depression can be a result of unresolved painful situations in your life.

Often, depression is actually the flip side to anger - or you could call it anger turned inward.

Depression can also have spiritual roots. It is possible for sins of the parents and grandparents to be passed along. Our society recognizes how this happens with alcoholism and abusive behavior. But any sin (sin being "missing the mark") can be passed along the same way. Whatever it is that causes depression could be generational sin. To break the "curse" you just need to confess the sin and repent of it on behalf of your family and yourself and renounce the deed. It may take a while to work through it, but it can be done.

But curses can come from other means.

This concerns me:

it hits me hard when i am home.

There could be a "curse" placed on the home/building and/or property. Often when a problem becomes worse when one is at a certain place, it means the problem could be with the place. (And who knows what was done there before it became your posssession.)

Again, it is possible to break the curse. Walking the home and the perimeter of the property, repenting of sin (first ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you as to what sin to speak repentence over) committed there, renouncing it, speaking the covering of the blood of Jesus over the place, and casting out the evil that is there. Then dedicate the property and the home to Jesus.

I hope this makes sense to you.

Prayers for your healing.

Since I can't post in other boards I am using this one to maybe get some help.

I suffer for major depression. Despite the fact that I ,thank God, am able to have a full time job it hits me hard when i am home.

Most of the time I barely do some cleaning and quick cook for my son. I am a sincere born again christian but some times

I wonder if since God promissed a peace that surpasses all understanding why don't I have it? Why do I become so anxious

we events that other people will not think twice about it? Why my mood is so vulnerable? Do I really belong to the Lord

or am I delirious?

Lori

Dear Sister

First I suggest occupying most of your free time with the Word of God and worship. The Lord says that the battle field is your mind. Occupy it with the word and it will renew your mind because faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Pastor Joyce Meyers has a wonderful book called the battlefield of the mind. It will give you the tools you need to walk in the peace that God has for you.

Hi again LoriC, lots of good advice been posted, but reading, learning etc can be difficult especially when the depression strikes. Even worship can seem impossible even though we know its good for us.

Can i just urge to try claiming the blood of Jesus over your life, family etc and then renouncing curses daily (as in my previous post).

Then also these other methods advised as able.

People suffering from anxiety, panic, stress and depression should consult a specialist and only then should use the medicine, as there can be various reasons behind the disorder. Medicines used to cure such disorders are habit forming and should be used for small duration. As per my personal experience, I have used Xanax and it helped me in getting over my panic and anxiety disorder. You can have all necessary information about this on http://www.xanax-effects.com Along with medicine, the concerned person should take a break from his/her regular schedule, go out and take good sleep.

You say you're a born again believer in Jesus which is great. Are you baptised in His spirit, and pray in your prayer language which gives you the fire and power according to Luke 3:16? Of course, each day we have to confess, repent of, and ask forgiveness for the sins we commit.

Depression is a demonic spirit which started working in your mind. You've opened the"door" to thoughts of anxiety, worry, fear, doubt, etc. which have led to a hopelessness and to thoughts of suicide. Many people are depressed and don't even know it. Even though we may be born again, we still have the unregenerated flesh to contend with. We have to guard the "doors" of our minds and keep ungodly thoughts out by praying, quoting Scripture, etc.

You will get the deliverance you need if you confess, repent, and ask forgiveness for being afraid, anxious, or anything else that has come in because you weren't trusting God to intervene in your life. Then you can get someone who's believes in deliverance to pray for you, or you can pray for yourself, and command the demonic spirits to come out in the name of Jesus. Be specific and name the particular spirit you're casting out. As you start calling things out, the Father will show you others that need to go. However, repentance is the first thing you need to do because the demonic strongholds or power have to be broken in you life. After the deliverance, ask the Father to show you how to guard your mind and crucify your flesh so that you can walk in the spirit 24/7. Believe me, it is possible because our Father resides in us, and that's His desire for each and every believer.

If all this seems weird or strange to you, pray about it. You do not have to take my word for anything, and I have no doubt that the Father will confirm what is truth and what isn't. Also, remember that you have to TRUST Him in every situation and circumstance. If you do this, He will move "mountains" on you behalf.

Hugs,

Darlene

Father,

I thank you for Lori, and that you love her very much. Thank you that you're leading her into a better relationship with you, and I know this because she's in this trial and testing time. All tests and trials are for you to see where we stand spiritually. Continue to lead and guide her life and be bigger to her than she could ever have imagined.

I ask this in the name of I AM.

Darlene, have you ever been depressed? It does not sound like it. You cannot imagine what it is like if you have not. I know you meant well by your answers, but trust me, I tried everything in the book and then some. It was not a "thought" to rebuke and it is a sickness. You are not in your right mind, your thoughts change constantly and you cannot hold on to anything. It is very frightening. I was okay one day and seemingly the next day I want to die. I was prayed for by many saints of God and was not "delivered". I also had terrible anxiety with depression. Nothing helped, praying, having prayer, reading the bible. All knew to do was keep crying out to God, I had tried everything. I was in 4 hospitals and mine is a chronic condition. I wish my faith were strong enough, believe me, or whatever it takes. I take medicine which helps, but it sometimes I feel I am never far away from crying. God has brought me through a terrible trial. That was a sweet prayer you prayed for Lori. The last time I went to the hospital, I was in bad shape. All of a sudden I felt a wonderful presence of God sweeping over me. I found out my sister-in-law had interceeded for me at that exact time. I knew then that God was with me during the trial. People need comfort and healing during these things, instead of a bunch of should dos and should not dos. At least I did. Even now, I don't know what to do sometimes, God doesn't have to tell me why. I just know that HE is and always will be, no matter what we go through.

Look I completely disagree with you, depression isn't always caused by demonic possession as you seem to claim. I'm not saying that it can't happen just saying that more times then not it is one of two things or more both then anything. If depression is a sign of demonic possession then I would say the vast majority of the population of the world suffer from demonic possession. This just silly when you get right down to it.

People can be born with depression as they grow older, all it is, is a chemical imbalance in the brain that a person can not control. Now this on it's own can be corrected through medication. However what inflames the problem are negative thoughts. When we hold on to negative thoughts and dwell on them it only increasing the depression and makes it worst. People who suffer from the chemical imbalance naturally tend to dwell on negative thoughts and it becomes habit forming. They need to retrain how they think and they can over come the thoughts that occur in there mind. The chemical imbalance can be corrected through medication, however it can also be dealt with out medication. The first step is to realize when depression is about to set in, at that moment you must empty your thoughts and focus on the Lord and the Word of God.

I suffer from this as well, except mine isn't due to chemical imbalance, it just from dwelling on negative thoughts for so many years that it became habit forming. I am now trying to retraining my mind and spirit and the best way to do this is by turning to the Lord and focusing on him.

I recommend those suffering from depression to go to itunes and look up Joyce Meyer Radio Podcast. Then look for two part series called Your Brain and you. I found this series to be most enlightening. I think it is a podcast that some could really use. Actually think Joycer Meyer is one of my favorite ministers because she is informative, clear and direct, and yet not dry and boring. I wish more ministers were like her. I highly recommend any one to listen to her podcast, she so awesome and you can see how the Lord is working through her.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
