There is ONE GOD, HE is SPIRIT and HE was manifest in Christ.

Rom 8: 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so it be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

Do you get it? The Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of God.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Christ is the Spirit

1Cor 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ

2Cor 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken way.

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. John 10:30 I and my Father are one. (Not two nor three !!!!!)

According to his Spirit Jesus Christ is the Father, the Spirit and the Son. The apostles always baptized in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5, Rom 6:3, 1Cor 12:13, Gal 3:27. In the name of Jesus the lame wacked. In the name of Jesus they cast out devils. In the name of Jesus they shall speak with tongues. We pray to God in the name of Jesus. There is no other God beside him and HE is the only person in God. Acts 4:12 , for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Rev. 4:2 A throne was set in heaven, and ONE sat on the throne. (not three) Rev. 7:17 For the LAMB WHICH IS IN THE MIDST OF THE TRRONE shall feed them, and lead them unto living fountains of waters and God shall wipe; away all tears from their eyes.

When we see Christ we see God. God and the Lamb. God is Spirit and only in Jesus Christ HE is man (flesh) too. One God (Spirit) in one man and not two nor three.

Caspar, why don't YOU believe in the Triune personality of GOD? If the HOLY SPIRIT is NOT a person, why does JESUS HIMSELF refer to HIM in personal pronouns (John 14:15-17)?

What is your denominational/non-denominational background?

Is the Holy Spirit a person or just a force used by God?

God Bless

"Holy Spirit, What is --?"

This is a very disturbing question to me the way it is posted.

I can take a lot of things but not calling I AM an "it".

I know it was not done to offend, but it does me.

Hi Casper,

I agree that the trinity is hard to understand, I myself attend an Apostolic church where they believe as you do, but I am not so sure.

God does not say that there are two other persons or gods beside HIM.

And yet Stephen saw this:

Acts 7:55

But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;

Here we see the triune God and yet God is one.

Here is Stephen testifies to all standing around through the Holy Spirit of seeing both the Father and the Son:

Acts 7:56

and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened up and 0] the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God."

Another interseting passage of scripture is found in Daniel:

Daniel 7:

9

"I kept looking

Until thrones were set up,

(Notice here the term thrones)

And the Ancient of Days took His seat;

(God the Father)

His vesture was like white snow

And the hair of His head like pure wool.

His throne was ablaze with flames,

Its wheels were a burning fire.

10

"A river of (6) fire was flowing

And coming out from before Him;

Thousands upon thousands were attending Him,

And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;

The court sat,

And the books were opened.

11 "Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire.

12 "As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.

Now notice what Daniel testifies to here and it greatly puzzles him as you read further down.

13

"I kept looking in the night visions,

And behold, with the clouds of heaven

One like a Son of Man was coming,

And He came up to the Ancient of Days

And was presented before Him.

Notice here that the Son is presented before the Father.

14

"And to Him was given dominion,

Glory and a kingdom,

That all the peoples, nations and men of every language

Might serve Him.

His dominion is an everlasting dominion

Which will not pass away;

And His kingdom is one

Which will not be destroyed.

This definately speaks of our Lord!

15 "As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed within me, and the (17) visions in my mind kept (18) alarming me.

You see that Daniel being a Jew is very confused here and distressed not only of the beast that are mentioned but of the vision of God.

These particular passages of scripture are what make me question the "oneness religious groups" There are many others but these in particular.

What are your thoughts?

In Jesus

The Holy Spirit is a separate part of God in separation, and The Holy Spirit was sent from God, and yet is God's Spirit from Him, inside of Him. Now when the separation happened God sent His Spirit to do different things then He does, yet He is The Holy Spirit. So God chooses to do different things through different means, when He wants. Thus in the separation we See God's Spirit, doing things which are different then what He personally does sometimes, and yet other times He does exact what The Father does, the thought is, The Holy Spirit, and The Father each have the underlining purposes which are the same, yet in order to accomplish that, sometimes that is different in what they do, and other times they do the same things.

It is my personal belief that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of the Father.  I can't tell you what the Spirit is for I don't understand.  It makes no sense to me to argue as to wether the Spirit is a person or not except to fit into someones definition of what the trinity is; which we have mostly agreed is a mystery and we don't understand fully.  I only refer to the Spirit as an it sometimes, because I don't understan what spirit is, and I know the Spirit is very very special.  We must treat the Spirit with much more care than we do the other two parts of the Trinity, so I really shy away from too much detail.

Sam

In looking more into the Trinity from a different thread, I have changed my thoughts as to the Spirit being the spriit of the Father. I have spent much time contimplating and reading and have come to the personal conclusion that the Holy Spirit is more of the Son than the Father. The Father sends the Spirit of the Son so we can be one with the Son, as the Son was one with the Father. This gives us access to the Father through the Son.

I realise most of you probably think I'm nuts to start with for not buying into the general belief of the Trinity, there is just too much scripture that leads me away from that doctrine. It wil all work out in the end anyway, one way or another.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
