I very much look forward to the coming of the Lord. However, I am fearful that I will have to watch some of my atheist friends thrown into the pits of hell. How do I ask this....hm.....Is there any scripture that says whether or not we have to watch our loved ones tortured? I really, really don't want to have a front row ticket to watch it all go down. I just want to see my Lord.

Edit: Thought of another question: Is it possible for mankind to speed up the coming of the Lord? In other words, are there things we can do as Christians to bring on the rapture? Sorry if this sounds confusing. I'm bad with words right now.

No it is not possible to speed things up because God has a set time for the fulfillment of His prophetic scripture. However there are men like Ahmadibajad who believe that by bringing about the total destruction of Israel and waging jihad on all infidels. He can speed up the return of his god. There have also been men of insanity like Charles Manson who thought by bringing about anarchy that they could bring about great change.

You don't know much about Islam do you? Ahminawhat'shisname is not waiting for the return of any god. He would be looking for the appearance of the Mahdi. This is a difference between the Shi'a and Sunni. The Sunni are looking for the return of Jesus Christ.

They are looking for a return of their version of Jesus, who is a far cry from the Jesus we love. The Jesus they look for is one who condemns Jews and Christians, who upholds the religion of islam and denounces Christian beliefs that He is the Son of God. In fact, the islamic Jesus condemns us for believing in Him as the Son of God.

They can call the one whose return they look for Jesus, or a car, or Brad Pitt. The one they wait for is none of those. A rose by any other name in this case still stinks.

All the verses used by pacifist christians are about the relationship between individuals which is not the same as nation with another nation. If we were living in a world-wide theocracy, there would be no gray area about questions of justice, right/wrong, territory, etc. because the Messiah would be the Judge.

But we aren't, are we?

We are citizens of heaven first and foremost...but we are also called to be faithful citizens of political entities known as nations whom will be at war with each other until Messiah comes. We can all point to the verses about how we treat each other as individuals, even within the midst of being enemies....but can you show me even one place where we are commanded to refuse military service? Seems like that would have been prominently listed as an exception in Romans 13 and other places.

If you can't do that then we have to take the verses about loving one's enemy within the context of the whole counsel of the Word of God and there are dozens of scriptures where the Lord commands His people into a REAL battle that are simplistically being ignored to prove an agenda that causes contradictions about war/violence where none is necessary.

To say that Adonai commands us to be pacifist is a half-truth...which keeps it from being truth at all.

Right, A.J., the 'muslim Jesus', or Isa (as they refer to him) is NOT Jesus Christ. Isa is a prophet of allah and the enemy of the infidel. This is just more lies put forth in the Qu'ran, the so called 'holy book' of islam, the book inspired by satan himself. :(

I have a belief. I can not prove it in scripture, necessarily, but I believe it nonetheless. When that day comes, we will see the evil and demonic aspect of the nature of those tossed into Hell. We will not see our loved ones as we seee them now. Kinda like the sci fi flicks where the skin is torn away and reveals the monster hidden underneath. The person who loved that person so much all of a sudden sees the truth of what that person is and then the love is gone.

As far as you second question, part of the understanding (true understanding that I am not going to get into at this time) of the scriptures around and after 2Peter 3:9 is a teaching stated in verse 12. It is the idea that when the last person whos name is written in the book of life is saved, that will be the end of this generation. JESUS will come and we will go home.

So, by spreading the gospel to all nations, by being out witnessing to as many people as possible, by doing all you can to reach HIS people with the message of thier salvation, you can "hasten the coming of the day of the LORD".

Who would you fight and why?

I haven't gotten that far yet. :(

I don't want to start a war. But if an army were to exist to declare the word of Jesus Christ, you bet I'd take part in that.

And you would kill those who would not agree with you? How much time would you give them? Do you feel you might kill someone who might have come to a knowledge of the truth if given more time?

You are already a member of the army GOD has raised up to proclaim the word, to attack the gates of Hell, to set the captives free. Put on your armor and Go forth and conquer.

I would not kill.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
