hi,

i was going to write this out as a short prayer request. there's a bit more than that though.

i have a question.

does it show a lack of faith in God that i would choose to seek help from a doctor for a spiritual condition even when my physical self is so out of control? i did not even make it 24 hours this time. i'm high while writing this because i think i could only say what i'm going to say...hgh. my faith sure looks like it's in how much smoke i can consume. not knowing how else to proceed...i know the VA has an outpatient drug abuse program for veterans. i don't know what else to do...things are coming apart at the seams...really fast now. so i figure that since my faith in God has either left me or has never been there in the first place..i have no other option except to call em and ask for help from them. i know, folks say doctors are given talent by God to help heal someone...nurses too. i suppose every thing about my thinking is pretty messed up and therefore my body follows that thinking. thought the forums of this site and the chatroom i've definately had the pleasure to be a part of this the past few months, 3 i think. i'll take a look later on but i think i better go for now. thanks.

oh, if i could ask God one thing...it would be why did you take everything away from me that mattered. why. i was really that bad huh?

I have been where you have been, except when i was out there i had no understanding of Jesus or the Bible. James 2:20 tells us that "faith without actions is dead faith". We live out what we believe. Apparently you do not believe that drug abuse is wrong. If you did your actions would prove or confirm your faith. Also it is not a lack of faith to go get help! If you go get help this will show that you have faith that God can and will help you by any means possible. One of the cool things of Gods love it always leaves us in a better condition then when we first come to HIm. The trick is we have to let Gods love work in our life. He will not make you do anything. He wants you to do the right thing out of love and gratitude for Him. When we are stubborn He will allow us to reap what we have sown in order to get us to a place where we are truly sorry for our sins and willing to give Him 100% of our life. As a Christian we must learn to give up the rights to our life to Him. If we say Jesus is our Lord, we must treat Him that way! Hard to do this when we hold back certian parts of our life back from Him.

I will be praying and trust you will come out on top! God Bless! Faithfulness pays off! Dont give up!!!

Hi,

I applaud you for admitting how bad things are with you and for desiring to seek help.

It does not show a lack of faith to seek help. He could have a reason unknown to you for seeking help at the VA. Perhaps in submitting to the help from the VA, you will learn how to submit to Him. One never knows what lessons we can learn from our circumstances.

As for taking away everything that matters, He hasnt done that. What matters overall is Jesus. He has not taken Him away from you. As for the rest, we are not of this world any more. The enemy knows this. He is the one who seeks to destroy. The devil seeks to destroy those whom the Lord oves. Look at the example of Job. He lost everything, more than once. God did not forsake him. Keep strong in faith.

treetop,

yes, your drug addiction is sinful, and there is a spiritual element to this struggle you are in. but you seem to be denying there is a PHYSICAL component to your struggle. i'm not saying that God isn't capable of healing even the physical, and delivering you from your addiction, but what i AM saying is that God doesn't always choose that method (instant delivery) for every person. He has His reasons for what He allows.

there is nothing wrong with seeking help, whether it is medical help or therapeutic help. God uses people in that capacity! God gives people the ability, the skills, and the desire to provide medical and/or therapeutic treatment to others!

Don't give up. God is with you and loves you. Doctors are used by God for healing and I don't see anything wrong with going to them for help. Did you know that Luke was a doctor? Remember that it is our faith in Christ and His perfection that is our salvation. None of us could ever be saved through our own perfection. We all fail...backslide, but don't turn away from God.

You say that you want to ask God why He took everything away from you that mattered. That breaks my heart. I can hear the heartbreak you have when you say that. Remember, though, it isn't God who takes away from us. The evil in this world started back in the Garden of Eden when Satan spoke his lies and Adam sinned. Since then we have been forgetting to put the blame on Satan rather that God. We aren't promised a trouble-free life once we accept Christ as our Saviour, but He will see you through the rough times. If you read the book of Job you will see that Satan attacked Job every way he could, but Job was faithful to God and God restored double all that he lost. Will everything be restored to you? Perhaps not in the same way Job regained everything, but do look to God for your strength and guidance.

Hey by all means to to the VA...you will meet some new friends who are going thur the same thing as you... and you will form some strong relationships I,m sure...what a blessing....as far as taking everything from you.. I can relate...cause God stripped me of all material things too....right at the start of me being saved ....lol....I was miserable for a while.. and did'nt understand...but ohhhhh I tell you... every single thing I went thur was so worth it to have the fellowship and relationship with Jesus the way I do....You are chosen that is why God Is training you... when He is done....he will send you out in the world to spread HIS TRUTH....setting the captive free with His Word ...there is nothing that brings joy more than seeing a changed life in Christ as HE did for us.....You have been crucified with Christ therefore you no longer live....Jesus Christ now LIVES In YOU.......trust Him......He does not cast us away ever.....HE will deliver you as HE did me... and somethings took a few years too... so don't be discouraged....praying for you too.......... :whistling:

I do believe that drug abuse is wrong. What we believe shows up in our conduct. You said you were High when you posted. Apparently it has been a long battle. I really did mean what i said. If you are truly convince that abuseing drugs is wrong your actions would have been toward the rehab a long time ago! As an ex-addict its never quite wrong enough to stop until it begins to cost us more then we can or want to pay. When you begin to lose family, jobs, friends, ect, the price of living high, is to high. Did you mean something else besides drugs, when you said you where high? If you did, then i did misunderstand you. and if i did, i apologize for that.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
