The way it has been handled and hidden is the problem. Half of Congress has been excluded the entire time and that's just wrong. Many people offered solutions and options which simply weren't even allowed a discussion...but then they lie and say no alternatives were offered.

Obviously they think Americans are too stupid to know a skunk when we smell it

the arrogance and lies and ridicule of people who simply want our Constitutionally guarantees voice in the process is the problem here but that doesn't stop them from claiming we simply don't want reform

Yod, the bill is on the internet at the Thompson Library of Congress web site and has been since it was voted on by the Senate in december. I really think you should read the bill before you start judging it's smell.

I ahve not read this bill, but I did completely go through all the original hr3200 bill, and since the conservatives speaking out against it said many of the same things about hr3200 that I know for a fact are not true, I really think you need to read this bill before you talk about it in this manor.

I'm not for or aginst this bill, for I didn't take the time to go through it, but I do push for the truth, and so far I have not found it much of anywhere concerning this bill, from either side.

Please let me know which part is the hidden part that Republican Senators and Congressmen did not know about. IMO if there are things that our representatives did not know about, they need to fire their entire staff and hire people who can do the grunt work of getting through bills.

They need to just go home and let their governor's send someone else back to Washington.

Neb, I think you would need to read Ezekiel Emanuel's book on Health Care in America to understand what's behind a lot of this. I think it would answer a lot of questions.

The goal of politicians on both sides is to win at any cost.

It shouldn't be. They should be doing things for the best interest of the USA, even when it's not popular.... which this may well be the case here....... we'll just have to see how it plays out.

Evryone wants reform and evryone wants insurance companies to do the right thing but that has never been the issue here

This is taxation without representation when they craft it behind locked doors with half of the nations representatives locked out of the process. This was done because there are so many things in it that have nothing to do with health care.

Now we find that they are adding 17,000 IRS agents to enforce it. why the IRS?

They are above the law in so many ways. They don't need a court order to search and seize property. The Gestapo didn't have any more power than the IRS

That should scare the **** out of everyone and it tells me all I need to know. Forcing people to buy something from the government is against the Constitution. This MUST not stand because of the power grab and because of the things hidden in this that no one knows about, including Obama.

We have had compulsory health care here for years. One's employer is required to register you in the scheme of your choice. If enough employees decided on one supplier there is a reduction in fee's and some employers add a % of the costs into your renumeration package.

Some payments are tax deductible as well.

I have found it to be a wonderful system, because I have a choice of hospitals (private) and doctors. Some doctors charge the medical scheme rate and some more, with the patient having to make up the difference. But one has a choice. I had to go in for kidney stones a few years ago and the cost of the hospital and operating fees would have crippled me. It cost me nothing, Nada, zip.

If as a poorer, unemployed person the situation is different. One gets free health care in a state hospital, and they can be dangerous places except for a few of the newer ones.

All in all I find our compulsory health care system excellent, and would not want to change it for the world.

This wasn't and isn't about Health Care. It's about controlling your life. If you want to be the rich man's wife, have at it. After all, Abigail was give to David because Nabal was a fool.
