I'm less than half a year away from 40.

So still a youngster then...... :emot-pray:

The words of this song have been bouncing around my head for days now.

"Better one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere"

We can live in His court here and now (a pale comparison as to what is to come, but His court never the less). When the curtain was ripped at Golgotha His court was revealed, and we only have to step into it :24:

As an aside. There are people that are struggling with depression on worthy. More than one.

If life has taught me anything, it is to jump in feet first. God gave us endless choices that we can make. I have always dived into life feet first. Have I been hurt before? of course. But He is always there to pick me up, dust me off, and push me back into the ring!

I could not imagine doing it any other way. That would be boring. My life has been enriched because of it, even through my depression, which changed me, and I came out of it all the stronger thanks only to Him.

We can stand in the shallow end with a deepwater faith, or we can start swimming.

Dive in now!

Blessings

jumping in now because i very much relate to the OP but would really like to know "what does that mean?" jump in where, swim where? just feel like that is a cliche. what if no opportunity is given to jump or swim? each day is the same and nothing changes. waiting on the Lord, i've heard that too.

please, in your experience, where did you jump in feet first? it seems that nobody ever continues the thought with real life example.

Since Fez probably won't get back to post his reply to your question (he's being married today) - I will offer what I think is meant my jumping in feet first....

I think everyday that we depend on the Lord and live upon His words - have the faith of the blind to go and do the things that we often dread and know in our hearts and the faith within that God will take care of us - that is jumping in with both feet - IMO. There was a time in my life where I was faced with being a single parent to growing children - I had to change my career and take a job I'd never done before. I was scared - but, I asked God for His Grace and Protection and to just show me the way - He did.... and it was deep water, too. He is true to His Word. He will Provide and the strength is there when I need it. Just my opinion. Blessings!

Hi Dearest Sis Nebula,

I may have gotten it wrong, but when I read Fez's message I thought he meant going and doing something completely new and different. It made me think of examples like: going away for one year in another place; starting a new hobby...???

Maybe I am projecting my own dreams on you :emot-pray: Sometimes I tell myself that if I didn't have my kids to raise, I would go somewhere in South Asia or Latin America for a year and live there, and take up Spanish/Hindi classes or something. You know like the TEFL teachers: you go and teach English somewhere and they pay you and lodge you....

Anyways.... ahem... back to reality

:) I'm less than half a year away from 40.

Well...you're six years younger than me, kid!

Yeah, you're right. But sometimes I wish I had more than faith to know (believe) this. Especially when my problems, struggles, etc. are beating me up more than I'm overcoming.

We all will always have struggles and obstacles to overcome. The 'overcoming' is keeping the faith and doing His will even when we feel like we're drowning.

Well, I sure would like to know where my place in His plan is.

Only He knows that but, and you know this already, He has a plan for each and every one of His own. It will be revealed to you when He is ready. I struggle with this too; I'm middleaged and single again. I worry that I will grow old and be the neighborhood 'cat lady'. :)

I think God's plan will be revealed to you when you are ready. I used to keep asking what was God's plan for me. I have stopped asking that. I know life is not about me, but it's about God and His glory. I know He has a masterplan and I have a part in that plan. I rest in the assurance that God has a plan and His plans are beautiful, and in His sovereignty He will accomplish His plans

Psalm 33:11 "But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations".

So I just do what I find in my hands to do every single day, believing with all my heart that it is God who holds my life and my future and will use them according to His purposes.

And when I don't really know where to go, I have these verses to hang on to:

Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

The Bible is full of God's promises. So though you don't know what He has in store for you at the moment, hold on to His promises.

On a practical note, I have learned to look back and see where God has brought me from one point to another. It helps to look back and really see how far God has brought us, whatever situation we are in. I try to recall all those times I was down and God saw me through. And I know it will be like that all the time, maybe one longer than the other, one more painful than the other, but God delivers all the time.

Blessings...South

Helllllllo!!! That would be Cat WOMAN. MorningGlory has little chance of becoming the neighborhood 'cat lady'. To really be a legitimate cat lady - you must have at least 8 but not more than 12 cats (that's just tasteless). Now if you want to be the "Crazy Cat Lady" - you must ride a moped and pay for all your groceries in loose change from milk jugs. You must wear a baseball cap advertising a lumber company and Converse "Chuck Taylor" Hightop sneakers. I have conducted a study of cat ladies most of my life - there were a number of them in the small town I grew up in. They are unique. :)

Bless you , South!

The encouragement to take my eyes off of lowly me wandering through life in a fog and focus on Jesus is what I'm finding to be the only thing keep my feet moving one in front of the other.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
