You know animals still do talk. Whales, Dolphins and others communicate with each other very well it's a well known fact in the scientific community.. so I'm not even sure why this is even a debate. But if the answer is can they talk to humans, then the answer is YES because it happened twice in the Bible.

And if we want to take it a step even futher.. there are the living creatures around God's throne that worship GOD day and night.. and they are not human like us... (Revelation 4:8)

It is almost like Balaam was in such a rage, his anger out did the shock of the ass talking.

Dude, I've been so angry a few times in my life where I couldn't even think straight, but even in a blind rage like that, if my dog started talking to me, I'd still have the presence of mind to shoot it.

A couple of things cross my mind here.

There were no other humans that satan could act through as an agent of temptation at the time of this event. The serpent was available and it appears through scripture that he was a creature of great beauty. It's also evident that Eve having not been around as long as Adam and having not been qute as acquainted as her stronger side was with the animals that she didn't have the knowledge that he had.

Followed by this, God would have had to allow the temptation. satan is an agent of free will himself . However, God uses even his evil for Good. This much is clear from scripture.

Meanwhile, we have this;

2Co 11:14

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The serpent wasn't speaking. satan gave it voice.:thumbsup:

It's clear though that the serpent made himself available in this scheme for he was punished for it;

Ge 3:14

¶ And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life:

The serpent became the first ensign of sin in fallen world and remains so to this day.:thumbsup:

Balaam's donkey was given voice by an angel. It was in fact a dumb brute beast and could not speak.:thumbsup:

Nu 22:28

And the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto you, that you have smitten me these three times?

The Prophet was quite insane and out of his mind at this point. He was outside the will and the Word of God and motivated by profit which is likely why he wasn't surprised.:thumbsup:

Peter points this out quite clearly;

2Pe 2:15

Who have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

2Pe 2:16

But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb donkey speaking with man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet.

Peace,

Dave

I understand what you are saying, but you are thinking clearly. Balaam's rage had him in a state close to insanity, and all he thought of was how angry he was over the actions of his ass. Had he been taking a leasurly ride and the donkey started talking to him, I believe his reaction would be completely differen't.

I do believe that the serpent in the garden of Eden beguiled Eve to the point of causing her to sin against God.

I also believe that the donkey that belonged to Baalam did talk to him in one instance where his donkey shoved his leg up againt a rock and Baalam smote the donkey for it.

I do not believe that animals can talk the way we do, but I do believe that animals use their body language to communicate with us and their own kind.

The serpent wasn't yet a snake. The serpent also knew sin, so I doubt there was some spiritual connection that allowed them to understand each other. I always thought the serpent was satan in the flesh.

I wondered the same thing... did animals talk before the fall?

I also pondered on things such as 'are there animals in heaven RIGHT NOW? / did God create animals for heaven?' and if so do they talk? will animals talk again after peace is temporarily restored? wild speculation i know...

...But i guess we really don't know. :huh:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
