President Obama ignores most holy Christian holiday; AFA calls act intentional.

President Barack Obama found time to prepare an eight paragraph proclamation for Earth Day on Friday, but found zero time to issue a proclamation for Easter, the highest and holiest day of the year for Christians.

While waxing eloquent about the necessity of preserving our nation's "natural heritage," he had not a word for the millions of Christians celebrating Easter in America and around the world.

The American Family Association believes this was an intentional act of disrespect.

This is consistent with other egregious examples of disregard for our Christian heritage on the president's part, such as omitting "Creator" from the Declaration of Independence, which he has done on at least three occasions.

The president has shown far more interest in promoting Islam than his own self-proclaimed Christian faith, the faith of our Founding Fathers.

The president has been devoted to issuing statements marking all major Muslim holidays, which are of no historical significance to the United States whatsoever. He has released statements in honor of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha, holidays which most Americans cannot pronounce and certainly do not celebrate.

More glaringly, President Obama made no mention of Good Friday or Easter in his weekly address to the nation on Saturday.

Even the secular media noted this inexcusable slighting of the Christian faith. When asked about it, the president's spokesman, Jay Carney, answered mockingly by saying, "I'm glad you're asking me these important questions, guys."

Why Obama Doesn't Think Much of Easter

The media and the blogosphere are abuzz with dumbfounded reactions to the White House's snub of Christians during the weekend. No presidential proclamation celebrating Christianity's highest holy day of Easter was issued, compounded by the White House chief spokesman's scoffing response to reporters' questions about the omission.

As Fox News noted on Monday, "By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha." On top of neglecting Easter, the president "also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday." The White House did, however, "release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day," which fell on Good Friday.

What's more, on March 20, President Barack Obama even videotaped an "important message" that was more than four minutes long commemorating Nowruz, the Persian New Year that Iranians celebrate. In it, the president said, "You

More than anything said about him, and most of it does not affect me directly anyway (we have one of our own to worry about...), this concerns me more than anything else that has been published about him.

It's now gossip to state a defined fact? Obama gave no official statement on Easter and in fact gave many and varied statements on many and varied Muslim holidays.

I'm not certain how that warrants the label of gossip.

Somewhere down the road we have equated patriotism and Christian piety to being synonymous. I would rather see the president ignore the holiday than hypocritically play the role and add to the deception. I learned during the last election cycle we would have been better off to have hired a mormon, even though everyone else was checking the religion box as Christian.

Gossip, this is all this is.

When the president of the United States honors Islamic holidays but does not honor the holiday where Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus - all the while saying he is a Christian - it's a serious issue.

I am not convinced he is a Christian in the Biblical sense, and thus I pray for him to get saved for real. For the evidence is clear he's never truly encountered the God of Israel, the Lord of Life.

We are in agreement about the questionability of Obama status as a Christian....what I would suggest we all come to terms with...cultural Christian observance alone is not true piety....to declare the holiday then continue on the path of governing like an agnostic is distasteful to God and deceptive to the general public
