I would like to ask you jackie d What does one have to do to get rid of a generational curse off of their life? Do you have a formula or solution to break this so called generational curse?

the only thing that I know of OC is to turn our backs on the sin that is under this curse..let's take addiction-alcoholism for example-studies through medicine and science state that addiction is inherited. Many Christians state that addiction is sin. If medicine says it is hereditary and Christians say that it is sin. Then would it not make sense that for a person to break this generational "curse" would be to either never drink or drug if aware of the curse or to stop using it? I was addicted, my father, my father's father, my grandmother on my mom's side...many more members of my family can be traced back through the generations to show that they have all suffered from this "curse"..I no longer use..therefore I am no longer under the "curse"...I sought redemption through Christ..thus making me free from this curse through His forgiveness and healing of the "curse"

I suppose if we wanted to be politically correct we could use another word for what I have described..one of the least politically correct people I have ever known was Christ...what do you think? Would He call addiction a "generational curse" or would He go with a more suitable description in today's world like maybe....Hereditary mental/genetic disease?

blessings

Very interesting reply jackie d

I for one am not PC and as long as I live and breath I will exercise my freedom of speech even if I am rejected for doing so for the record. I do believe jackie d that we have a inherited sin nature from Adam that we inherited as a result of the fall I addressed in my last post to "undone" if you should want to got back their and read it. Now we all have to agree we came from Adam and Eve as they was the father and mother of the earthly family we all are a part of right. Now it that be the case then Adam's and Eve's likeness or image would be passed down from generation to generation as those that followed would somewhere in the family line resemble them in looks. Same with all the others being born on the earth in the earthly family.

This would also be true in the bodily nature and genetic make up as well for we all have been going on the very genes that was given to Adam and Eve back then to this very day.

Well before the fall man had a nature that did not know they was naked this was hid from them and they only knew good but then the fall happened and something physically happened in their nature and they knew they were naked and was ashamed of thier nakedness as a bad thing as evil became part of their world as well. Something happened in their nature as a result of sinning against God and eating the forbidden tree. It was the sinful nature which came into existence as it was exposed now to death and to evil but prior it only new good and was not subject to death. We inherited this nature from our earthly father Adam all of us have it from birth.

Our nature from Adam is prone to sin it can be manipulated through temptations to partake of forbidden things in which God tells us in his word to stay away from it is Satan who plays on our fallen nature we have and live in from birth. This is not a generational curse however and all of the things you mention like alcoholism, drug addictions, sexual sins you name it these are all common to man from the beginning since evil has been part of our world. If such a generational curse existed then it would have started from Adam and come on down the line. Our flesh and blood nature is prone to sin and not only is our flesh and blood nature prone to sin it likes sin it loves the pleasures of sin that Satan tempts us to dabble in like alchol getting drunk doing drugs eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die attitudes that our flesh has but our regenerated spirit man the new man in Christ lives inside of a corrupt inherited sin nature of a body we inherited from Adam that is corrupt and is dying daily as we live and breath though our outward man perish we are being renewed on the inward man day by day. amen that is good to know. We have just got to learn to follow the inward man instead of our old nature that has been corrupted and tainted with the pleasures of sin.

I think Christ would say something along the lines like John the Baptist did, "you generation of vipers bring forth fruit meet for repentance." He that commiteth sin is of the devil and you are servants to whom ye yield your members to obey speaking of the members of your fleshly bodies being your eyes your hands your feet your mind your soul every fiber of your being. you don't give your body to fornication you don't use your hands to partake of evil things you don't look at bad things with your eyes, you don't let your feet take you to places you ought not to go. you don't give your mind over to idle thoughts and to smut which is all the flesh and blood bodies of our wants and craves but we are to give our members of our bodies over to holiness we think on things that are lovely of a good report we use our hands to bless others and we use our feet to carry the gospel we use our eyes to learn of God's ways instead of learning the wicked ways of the world.

Jesus even taught that if our hand offended us to cut it off because it was better to go to heaven maimed then to enter into hell whole. I think Jesus would say these same things to day for it is better to fear God than to fear man and what he can do to the body.

Yes, that is included in his book.

By the way, those seven times are:

From the sweat in the Garden of Gethsemane.

From the whip lashes.

From the crown of thorns.

From the nails in His hands.

From the nails in His feet.

From the spear in His side/heart.

I can't remember the other, but they are all supposed to have a certain significance in the freedom from different curses. Example, in the bible thorns represent poverty. So His blood shed from the crown of thorns was given in that case to free us from the curse of poverty.

Mareesta,

That is good news! But a word of caution to you: Even if you are unaware of a sin in your life, you are still guilty of it, until repentance. Ignorance of a sin is no excuse before God. I am telling you this so that you will not teach that to other new believers, as it is an erroneous belief.

Not good news at all Axe

that is, if you consider that I was sinning when I knew not the sin.....to me, that makes no sense....that I did not know the sin, but I am guilty of what I did not know. Very strange thought. However, once I knew it was a sin, then if I did it again....oh yes, I would be sinning. What you are saying is like accusing a blind man of looking at a naked lady and calling it sin. No, I gave up even thinking about what I did when I knew not.....but I am very aware of what I do know.

you might even look at it this way,

if you are driving down the street, and you are doing only 35 MPH, you look in the mirror, and see a police car behind you with lights going, you pull over and he writes you a ticket for speeding. you did not know that the speed limit in the town was only 25 MPH unless other wise posted, the street you are on has no posted speed limit signs. you did not know you were speeding, but the speed limit is still only 25 MPH.

now

you go before the judge, because you feel you have been unjustly ticketed...

the judge first allows you to explain your side and then the gavel hits the bench, with the words "IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSS" ......

when we go before the Judgement seat, there will be no excusses accepted, we either have accepted Christ or we have rejected Him and the Gavel will fall.......

Those with out Christ will be drug away and tossed into the Lake, those that have Christ will be Praising and Worshiping the Lord God Almighty.....

the laws were given to us so that we might know that we are sinners and that we might know that we are unable to obtain Righteousness on our own.... there is no way that we can keep every little piece of the Laws, the Laws have been there for about 4 thousand years, if we choose to ignore them, and be ignorant of them, that is our choice, if we choose to try and justify ourselves that is our choice, but when it all comes down to it, if we do not have Christ, we will not see the Father.... if we have Christ, that does not excuse us from the Laws, we are still suppose to keep them..... " IF YOU LOVE MY, YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS" the word WILL is the key word, it does not say some, it does not say might, it does not say exempt......

with Christ, we are able to live within the Grace of God, and the penalties of the laws are no longer hanging over us.... we are still to keep them... if we stumble..... should sayd when we stumbe, we are to pick ourselves back up, dust ourselves off, repent and move on.... key word, REPENT.....

repent does not mean you can do it over and over and over and over again, knowing you will be doing it again...

i have heard people say, all i have to do is ask for forgiveness and it will be ok, so i can go out drinking and corousing around friday and saterday night and then ask for forgiveness and all will be well when i do communion sunday..... this is not repentance.....

paying money for ones sins is not repentance either, that is pentance, we can not work out our own salvation, we can not get to heaven with our own doings, we will be judged for our works.... but our works do not equate to righteousness.... the only righteousness we can get that will be of any value is tha tof Christ...... and only Christ......

we will still be held responsible for our actions, and inactions.....

it is also told that those that have no knowledge of the law will not receive as severe a punishment as those that have full knowledge of the law.... this does not mean that those with out Christ gain entrance into paradise, for there is only one way, and that is through the SON, dont matter how good you are...... for if we could do it through works, our own doings, then Christ coming to earth was a wasted trip....

Deu 5:9

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me,

The Lord is indeed still visiting the people of this earth and not only the children of Israel. But the whole earth is now filled with his glory.

The lord is having mercy on whom he is having mercy as they call out to him just like the children of Israel while they was in Egyptian bondage for 400 years and then God heard there cry as Joseph told them that God would surely visit them and bring them out to the land of Canaan. God still hears our cry today and in every generation if we call out to him. He will extend his mercy.

But for those who hate God they shall not have the mercy of God extended to them because they will not serve him being a stiffnecked and rebellious people in God's sight and they will not recieve the blessings from God neither will the blessings be on their offspring if they choose to walk in rebellion to God unless they come to a place of repentance and call out to God for mercy. The blessings and riches of God will be upon your children's children as many as are afar off according to Joel 2 as many as call upon him if they are obedient to God and put no other God before Him and love him with all their heart soul and mind and body with all their being.

The unbelievers of this world are under the curse of sin and will stay there in bondage to their sins until they call out to God for mercy. Then the Lord will give mercy and grace and the blessings of the Lord will come upon their lives as they become faithful to the Lord and are serving Him. This is true in every generation in all of our families in which we are part of in this earth to your children's children.

But if one wants to choose death over life then that is what they will have their is no blessings in death no life at all so nothing can grow in the heart of the wicked except wickedness and they are exempt from the blessings and life of God that can bring spiritual healing to a sin sick soul that is still living under the curse of sin. But God is still visiting the hearts of mankind today through the Holy Spirit moving on the hearts of man to come to a place of repentance but many will not heed the call of the Spirit and be delivered from the curse of sin.

Just like there are generational blessings, there are generational curses according to scripture.

To believe in God is to believe in the God who turns curse into blessing. Please read about Baalam in the book of Numbers.

The whole purpose of Curse in the Old testament, was to turn a man back to God. This was Gods mercy at work. When any of the resultant effects of the curse were observed in a persons life, it was the sign post to turn BACK...You are going the wrong way.

In the New Testament, Jesus became the curse for us...There is nothing you can ADD to the work of the cross. It isnt about the cross + your efforts......

You are justified ONLY by the blood of Jesus poured out as a sacrificial offering TO God for YOUR sins. It is a fatal mistake to believe that God accepts US.....

God only accepted the offering and sacrifice of his only begotten son. God only accepts YOU through CHRIST.....

YOUR offering is as worthless as Cains'. Think about that...

Look to Job for your example....When God has finished dialogueing with Job, he tells Jobs friends that what they have said about God is NOT right. He speaks to Jobs friends also. But does he tell THEM to provide an offering to make ammends...??? NO..!!! Their offering would be worthless. God instead commands Job to make an offering FOR them and pray for them, and God said himself that this would result in their forgiveness.....Just as Job did for HIS friends what they were never able to do for themselves....Jesus did for US what we could never do for OURselves.

If you honestly believe you are cursed, then God is working things out, so that curse will turn around into blessing.

Dont give the devil more credit than he is due. And be careful that what happened to the seven sons of Sceva in the book of Acts does not happen to YOU..

Regards,

Ben.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
