If you were not here to change minds, you wouldn't be posting these threads.

Well now.....here is where you are wrong. I understand that not everyone, if any, will accept or even listen to what I post. Have been doing it for a few years now on lots of different forums. But is it up to me to change minds? Did everyone accept what the prophets and the disciples told them? No! And what did God tell them if they did not?

Mark 6

[11] And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

So again....you do not have to read, reply nor accept anything that I post. You DO have a choice you know. Or can you just not control yourself to the point where ya just gotta say something!

Either way....it's not my job to open eyes and minds! That's God job!

2 Thes.2

[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

My job is to quote scripture!

Hi everyone.

This topic has certainly been one that has been debated among Christians for years now. At least it has been where I live.

There is something on my mind here that I don't think any one has touched on in this conversation. Or I have missed it if they have.

I keep reading information that talks about how this holiday is still one that is celebrated in the neo pagan world and among those that are witches as one of their main feasts/celebrations of the year. If what I am reading is correct, it is still believed by many that during this time the veil between the spiritual world and the physical world is thin and it is easy to pass between the two. The way it is celebrated by these groups is certainly occultic and is certainly not harmless fun.

It appears that these folks are still looking at Halloween in the way the historians that claim it goes back to occultic origins speak of.

So it seems to me that even if you don't believe that the Scriptures that have been quoted apply to this holiday, there is still a very real present time evil that is very much a part of this holiday.

I don't know if that makes any differerence to any one in what they believe about any of this. But I would think that it is something that really needs to be considered.

If I had young children today, I don't believe I would want them participating in Halloween celebrations. To them it may be just fun and games, but to others it involves very serious occultic practice.

Your job is to rightly divide the Word. When you try and apply scripture with absolutely no shelf-life regarding holidays, verses which are, in fact, a condemnation of something specific, i.e. Molech and child sacrifice, and try to apply them to Halloween, you are not rightly dividing the Word.

Why do you continue to quote just one verse? Does not God address 'other' abominations that nations practiced; such as activites against the occult, witchcraft, wizards, enchanters and necromancers that DO have aspects of Halloween in them?

My reason for listing these practices was to let some that may not be aware of it that anything dealing with such, God's considers an abomination and evil.

All kidding aside, I still think it is a good time of year to make sure that your kids understand that witchcraft is not a game, and that demons really do exist and we really don't want anything to do with them. Supposedly the nephilim were canabalistic and drank blood so not even vampires are really something to play at for there are disturbed people who really do take that seriously.

I'd not get them involved with the dark side of the spiritual world, but they do need to know that it exists and should be avoided.. We had a hundred or so kids come by our house tonight, and I did give them some good candy. It seemed that the Snickers were the hit tonight. One small boy that looked about six or seven looked up at me and said thanks a million..... I really like snickers....... I couldn't help it, I just had to give him a bunch and the smile I got in return was priceless.

I think next year I'll make up a business card and give away full sized snickers and an invitation to Sunday School.

God tells us to separate ourselves from the customs of the world. What fellowship should you have with things "ONCE" associated with idols and with darkness?

Something that used to be doesn't make it true for today. A day in and of itself is "not" evil however there are evil sins or wickedness being committed within everyday. This being the case do we seperate ourselves all 365 days a year and not participate and stay in our homes staying out of sight as much as possible.

I "Once" was lost in sin but "Now" I'm not cause Jesus took me in

I "Once" was an idolator but "Now" I serve the one true and living God

I "Once" was blind but {u]"Now" I see

Should we have fellowship with one another within the body of Christ because we all "ONCE" was bound in sin held as slaves in the kingdom of darkness because our sins kept us from serving God in the kingdom of light.

You can't have fellowship with things that "Once" use to be associated with idols and darkness and from my understanding this is what you are saying. But again a day in and of itself is not or cannot be evil. Everyday single day is holy to the child of God as we can worship the Lord in all of the 365 days within the year.

How far do you take all of the customs of the world to be? are we to disregard the days around Easter time where we recognize the resurrection of Christ despite the easter bunny. Do we disregard Thanksgiving where we come together and give thanks for the blessings of the Lord on the bounty from the harvest for that year? Are we to disregard Christmas day and stay away from everyone who recognizes the birth of Christ and who give thanks all because someone comes along and says it used to be or it's origin use to be pagan. To a child of God every day all 365 days in a year are holydays.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Romans 14:5-6(a) One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. [uLet every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
