Why are politics on this board?

CHRISTIAN LUTHIER..........

You said, that when Joseph fled to Egypt....he was defying the "authority " of

king Herod.

When GOD is involved......aren't we suppose to listen to GOD before man.

Joseph listened to GOD and fled to Egypt and he did as what GOD commanded

him to. This was to save JESUS from being killed by King Herod.

Matthew 2:13

Now when they departed , behold , an angel of the LORD appeared

to JOSEPH in a dream, saying , "Arise , take the young CHILD and

HIS mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word;

for Herod will seek the young CHILD to destroy HIM."

I am a voter and have my freedom of speech.......

I can turn on the T.V. and hear politics, or get on the Internet to hear it......

If i don't hear it.... then, i wouldn't know who to vote for......

LOVE and PEACE to everyone,

Cajun, that is an excellent post!! Very true!

In Christ,

Kat

I agree with both Christian Luthier and Called :P

Yes we are called to obey the Authorities and Yes if the Authorities tell us to go against what we have been instructed to do by the Word Of God then we must disobey that command against the will of God.

But there is a big difference between obeying a worldly Authority and getting into bed with that Authority. It could be argued that if people had followed that scripture Called posted then the war of independence against the English Crown that happened in the USA would never have happened and the USA would today still be under the Authority of the Queen of England.

Here is the reason why.

I want the world to know who i like and want as president. It is this countries job to put in the best guy in office, i think it is Bush and i feel i have an ablugation to the country to help put in the guy i feel, even though others feel differently and they have the right to promote who they think is better.

Politics and Religion have always coexisted. They both effect each other. Our (US) Government established a Government to allow the freedom of Religion not the freedom from religion. The US government established a freedom of religion so that Government would not infringe of the rights of Christians and other religions. But you see as our government becomes more socialistic which leads to communism that these freedoms are slowly being taken away. The Freedom of Religion is becoming the Freedom from Religion.

Its important that Christians vote in favor of Religious freedom so this is the reason we discuss politics of these boards. If Christians did not participate in politics then Christians would not have a voice in our country and we would lose our religious freedom.

God bless,

If we Christians don't keep our noses in politics, the other side will surly keep our noses bloody.

We have already learned from our mustakes. If Christians leave Politics it goes heywire. Christains already tried leaving Politic and it got bad, then if we leave again all are rights will be taken away.

I can't speak for the moderators, but my short answer is this: Scripture says we are to obey those in authority over us. Electing those leaders is a critical issue in our lives. If believers aren't educating ourselves and discussing these issues in light of God's Word, preparing ourselves to take a stand for what is right and true...then we may as well lay down and die right now. It isn't about politics as much as it is about making wise decisions and positioning ourselves to reflect Christ to the world.

Tess, you sure are getting a head start on wisdom in that young person that you are. I agree to the fullest....:rofl:

BTW Christian Luthier I was remiss the other night when I read your first post not to welcome you to the boards here. You and your wife together I should say.

Welcome Welcome Welcome As Gomer would say from a warm caring heart...

Now, this is just my opinion. I hope I don't get personally attacked by anyone or offend anyone. What I believe is this: I believe that voting won't do us much good, no matter who would vote for. The government is corrupt, and they only care about lining their pockets with voters hard-earned money. In my opinion, it doesn't really matter who you vote for. It will always end up in a mess. Taxes will heighten, laws and freedoms will be taken away, etc. no matter who's in office.

Now, I know that we are supposed to respect those who are in authority as Jesus

designated. I won't deny this. And I'm not trying to discourage any of you from not voting. This is all just my opinion of course.

Ok let say that, but i'd rather get there slower then sooner

I mean if you vote for the right person, you will get to the stage more down the road then sooner.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
