Looks like a pale horse to me! Thought I really like horses, I couldn't tell on breed from another.

What's odd about the word translated as "pale" in other places is translated as "green."

Why is it translated as "pale" this one time?

And if it was actually green John saw, it is odd because green is thought of as the color for life.

As for trying to match colors with actual horses - not sure about that. John also saw a red horse. Unless he saw a red variation (i.e. reddish brown), he may not have been seeing the kinds of physical horses we see. Just my guess.

(chloros) means "green" like chlorine and clorophyll, the same color as the "green" grass

Look at some flora just as grass to get the idea of the color of the horse.

The color of this horse is called “palomino” . There are my shades from much lighter than this to much darker. Palomino is NOT a breed but the name which describes the color of the hair. I would consider some of the variations in this color to be called “pale”.

This horse’s color is NOT a palomino, NOR is it a white horse, but it is called “creme”. I would consider this to be a “pale” horse

The color on this horse is called a “buckskin”. They have about the same shades / variations in color from light to darker just like a palomino, but the difference between the two is the color of the mane and tail. Palomino’s have from white to very light creamy colored mane and tail and buckskins have black manes and tails. In describing “pale” I would consider this to also be a pale horse.

None of these horse’s listed above are a breed of horse. Palomino, buckskin, and creme all describe the hair color. These horses, are what I visualized when reading “pale horse”.

This below is pale grass, it is not a variety of grass but a description of the color. I didn’t put the two together until the replies on this thread. The word “green” threw me off.

Awesome!! very interesting. From one horse lover to another THANK YOU. you might want show everyone what a red roan looks like and gray all grown up (white). nice pic of a brindle, those are very rare. Ido believe the bible is describing a palomino.
