What Does The Bible Tell Us About The AntiChrist?

How will we know who he is?

Are there signs we need watch for?

What are they?

Please reply with Scripture. This is more or less a means to better understand what God's word says of the greatest enemies mankind is to face in the nearing future, if not, is already presently facing.

The war for Christ is ever present and has not ended, in fact...it seems it is only begining.

But...will we be ready? Whose side will we be on in the end?

Scriptural, the anti-Christ is the spirit behind saying Jesus is no the Christ. We learn that there will be many anti-Christs. Are you referring to who scripture calls the beast, dragon, the devil, or the man of sin?

All of the above. It is important to recognize these figures and know their roles in the end times. So any information on the enemies of Christ would be insightful. Thank you for taking the time out to reply Onelight.

the antichrist is a spirit. read where in 2 john it says what that is and is also 1 john 4. beasts are goverments not persons. daniel saw beasts not persons and each beast he saw had a name given,ie greece, medio-persia,babylon and rome

There are a number of ways to approach this and all are important. I believe the subject is large in scriptural depth and will pm you a book that up to this point handles this subject in an overall scriptural way without pointing fingers of identification but lays out scripture in abundance on the subject.

Biblical prophecy is a pattern and just as Jesus had three and a half years the son of perdition will have the same. Jesus had the prophet John come before Him and so will the man of sin have the false prophet come before him. Judas was called the son of perdition, a major type, was a thief, faked caring for the poor, had much influence within ranks of the disciples and the disciples didn't recognize his craftiness. There was a point Judas was revealed to them as it will be to the faithful at the appointed time. That is a major point, the faithful will know, some will have an idea ahead of time but we all who are faithful will know at the appointed time, Just as Jesus fulfilled much prophecy the man of lawlessness has much to fulfill also.

I wrote you in another post about David and Goliath. When you look at the measurements associated with Goliath and his weapons, series of sixes, and his armor bearer went before him, type of false prophet, and David used five stones, Torah, the five books of Moses as will Jesus, the king of kings who will sit on the thrown of David forever and ever, will defeat him with a double edge sword from His mouth. Revelation. This is a simple look at a type from the scriptures that is just a small portion of how much scripture there is for us to grow in our overall understanding of this character.

Sound doctrine is so important. The false prophet will twist scripture like no one before him. If we can't see through a Bill Hybils, not judging his heart or intentions only what he does and says, we will not see through the real deal.

I got to admit it seems your loading a lot on yourself so May God bless you in your searches. Remember not to neglect the most important aspect, getting the manna that falls everyday. You will grow more in reading the Word and prayer than anything else as you pursue these things.

Matthew 24:14-15 KJV

(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

(15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Jesus tells us that our study of the abomination of desolation should focus on the book of Daniel (Matthew 24:15). When one makes a careful study of this book they discovers that the abomination of desolation can be divided into three parts. These parts are: the abomination of desolation in Daniel's day (involving the first temple); the abomination of desolation in Jesus' day (involving the second temple); and finally the abomination of desolation in the time of the end (involving the whole Christian church). The issues that come into play in the abomination of desolation as treated in the book of Daniel remain consistent in each of its three phases. Therefore they are types, or examples, of each other.

Have you every studied Daniel, chapters 2, 7 & 8

They start the process in a walk through history that will point out the last ruling power before the coming of Christ. This power represents the work of the antichrist for it is against Christ.

Starting with Daniel chpt. 2 we read of a dream had by the king and the interpertation given.

The dream is of a statue which represents kingdoms, which at the time were yet to come. The only kingdom in power was the one represented by the head of gold - the kingdom of Babylon.

Dan 2:32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

Dan 2:33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

Dan 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

Dan 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

BABYLON

Kingdom of GOD

= Stone that smote the image

This is just a beginning point. This prophecy is repeated in chapter 7 and extended in chapter 8. I can post more if you are interested.

the beast and false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire...... how do you throw a government into a lake of fire???

Anti-christ, not Messiah but will act like the Messiah. Anti is the type just as Yeshua was the 'anti-type' of the lamb not the real lamb but did the work of the lamb. When the ac comes around he is going to sound a lot like the Messiah, which will lead many many away from the true Yeshua Hamaschiach. We will only know him when he is presented to the world and when that happens we all better have our faith in tact cuz he is going to go after those who 'keep His commandments and have the testimony of Yeshua'.

We will see the building up, as we are seeing now, the worlds govts to fit the beast model one reason so many see obama and others as the ac because they have their part to play in the whole thing. Babylon is a system of systems, not just religious but monetary, military, social, etc. The ac will head all that once its all finished and in place, no one knows who the ac is, as of yet we cannot even truly know if its going to be islam, the US, the pope, the Turks, etc. who will finally come out on top. Whoever it is though will be a comglomerate of all the past 'beast' as we see in Daniels and other prophets writings.
