I don't have any tattoos. I guess I always kind of had the following mental image...

When I'm 70 or 80 I don't want to look anything like this.

I decided this before I was even a teenager. So yeah that image did it for me.

man i cant stand those arrogant legalist that try to put others under the law- thay dont even keep the law themselves- for those that insist we are under the old testiment law, have you kept it? how many sinners and heathens did you stone to death this week? are all of your clothes that you wear made out of a single material? are you doing your old testiment duty by making a multitude of animal sacrifices? make sure that you lay in the bed from friday sundown until saturday sundown just to be safe that you did no work on the sabbath too.

Really? Can't stand your brothers and sisters in Christ because they disagree with you? You can't stand them?

Some people feel very strongly about this issue. Apparently, so do you

I can understand the view of no tats better than getting one, but hating each other over it shows real immaturity and perhaps one

reason to avoid them

dunno........... :sneaking:

i'm talking about those who try to put themselves AND others under the old testiment laws, and i just dont mean the ten commandments, i'm talking all old testiment laws. plus they say your wrong and in sin if you dont live like they live. hope that clears up any misunderstanding

P.S. the apostal paul had some pretty harsh things to say about those that would be put back under the law.

If someone wants to live under the law, that is their problem. Your problem, is calling other believers names and saying that you cannot

stand them.

Jesus had some pretty harsh things to say about those who say they love God but hate the ones they can see

Jesus trumps Paul

but paul and jesus agree 100% on everything when it came to scripture, wouldn't you agree- and maybe i need to be more clear about what i mean- i dont hate the person, what i hate is what they are doing, trying to put believers under a yoke of bondage.

what i stated before is still valid though- about people trying to force others to live under the old testiment law. if someone chooses to live under the law thats up to them. the problem arises when that same person tries to make others do the same, and if they dont go along or agree with them that person then starts to judge and condeme those that dont do as they do.

LOL! Paul admitted his partial understanding but I guess you see things differently.

The perfect law is love. Love covers a multitude of sins. That is the only reason any of us can stand before God.

You don't have a valid argument to go against that law

Here are your words and what they mean:

YOU cannot stand those arrogant Christians...your brothers and sisters in Christ...who feel or believe that the OT scripture dealing with tattoos (markings of the dead in particular), is something they respect and want to obey.

They have the nerve to believe something that you do not believe; therefore you cannot stand them.

You believe you have the freedom to tat yourself up one side and down the other and you want the respect of everyone by having them agree with you.

Doesn't that sound absurd? and petty? and childish?

Further, if Paul could let people have it, so can you, by gum and just watch you have at it! :fryingpan: That'll work.

Furthermore, Paul and Jesus are equal.

except that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and Paul was the first to admit he had imperfect knowledge

whatta drag

Can anyone really force you to live under OT law or are you convicted and whining about it? Don't answer...I don't care...that is yours to deal with

I am simply trying to point out that your freedom and liberty DOES NOT INCLUDE PUTTING OTHER CHRISTIANS IN THEIR PLACE

when you apparently do not know yours.

Been nice. Being nice is up to you. Some, would call it being a mature Christian.

This is something we all need to practice...I agree about OT law....actually those who want to quote it and apply it, are under the

whole law which is impossible to keep. I do not think it is advisable to get a tattoo as a Christian but I cannot take the part of

the Holy Spirit and convict someone. I can only pass along what I have learned and or believe.

I have nothing more to say.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
