In short, I think there is. And sadly, I think the most blind are some (but not all) Christians. How else to explain the numbers of our brothers and sisters who throw up their hands and swoon in praise of a man who despises them, the Bible, and the God they claim to serve? We expect this of liberals and the unsaved; they're only giving in to their baser desires. But Christians? I never thought I'd see it.

During these final few weeks of run-up to the elections, I've heard there is intercessory prayer going that God in His mercy would pull off a miracle, and deliver us again. Thing is, I'm not so sure we deserve it. Every time He's pulled our national chestnuts out of the fire, there's been a short time of supposedly turning back to Him, but that time is always brief.

I don't know. It could be He'll use another Obama win--and its attendent darkness--to bring us all to Himself. There really is nothing quite like intense persecution and economic annihilation to get our attention. And it's tough, but I think we've brought a lot of this on ourselves. But who knows? Maybe this will help us all to stop ridiculing and slamming each other, and actually begin living like family. Pretty to think so, anyway.

As another poster here says (and I agree with him), "brace for impact."

John, the issue at hand is deception. Christians don't know who their Christ is. Instead they fear God but serve idols. I encourage people to go back and look at 2 Kings 17. When God was done with the northern kingdom he brought in Assyria and took them all away. Unlike Judah who he left a remnant in the land, he replaced the northern kingdom with a people who knew not the God of the land. He gave them a single priest to teach them. In the end they didn't do very well.

And in saying this, you say that Christians are stupid. Both intelect-wise and spiritually. People who truly have a personal relationship with Christ know who He is. Your statement is false, and that is not where the problem lies. What you have attempted to portray as the problem is not the problem. Liberal theology is the problem. Liberal Christians who advocate and support things which the Bible says are wrong know that those things are, in fact, biblically wrong. But they are more worried about what their friends and family will think, and their Liberal world view, than thay are about doing what Jesus says to do, so they embrace the world instead of Christ. They want the best of both worlds. They want to be able to straddle the fence, claiming to be Christians while being world-friendly. Not surprising, since the Bible tells us there will be people like this. You yourself enjoy some really poor theology, so you practice what you accuse others of.

The fact is, at some point, America will fail, as a country. It has to for God's plan to see fruition. He may give us a season of reprieve. It is possible. And He may not. True Christians are still going to serve Him, no matter what, and the ones who are in name only will drop by the wayside. And it is the ones who always cry "Where is the persecution, Bring it on! I'm ready!!" that will fall by the wayside first. Because no truly wise person flagrantly courts persecution. They simply pray they will have the strength to endure it, if it happens. I see people, even on here constantly blaming the Church for our countries problems. They didn't do enough, they didn't evangalize enough, they didn't either burn people at the stake or allow them to do whatever they wanted so they could join a touchy-feely church. Take your pick. The Blame Game does not work, because at the end of the Day, God is still Supreme, God is still Eternal, God is still Omnipotent. He put the plan in motion millenia ago and it will unfold exactly as He has planned it, no matter what we say, no matter what we do, and no matter who is President.

Hi Cobalt, I am not saying this, God is. I am just repeating what I hear. You say that I enjoy some pretty poor theology but that remains to be seen as all will be revealed shortly. I blame no one. Deception is just that deception. I have been subject unto it myself. You now believe that I am subject unto it presently and I understand. All will be revealed shortly. We will find out who does and does not know Christ. We will find out who is or is not known of Christ. Who has and is walking in the Spirit of God and who is not. Just as Paul said that he believed he had the Spirit of God, so do I and therefore I speak what is revealed unto me by him. You oppose me and that which teaches me. I can but simply listen to what you submit to me as the truth and work to evaluate it for truth and respond to that which is actually the truth. In the end each one of us will give an account and the hidden things of our hearts will be revealed. Let us each work out (not for) our salvation with fear and trembling. I do appreciate your coming to me openly when you believe that I am in error and giving me the opportunity to accept or reject what you bring. I will have to give an account one day as you have not held your peace but spoke what was on your heart. Bless you for that. I do not think that you and I are far apart on this but simply are viewing the same thing from a different perspective.

In Jesus Name,

Gary

Agreed, which makes the adoration this man is getting--especially from Christians--so incredible. I mean, he's for government-sanctioned perverted sex; he's for abortion from conception through birth; his economic and foreign policies are horrendous, and people don't seem to care, because he's glib, cute, and has a winning smile.

I could be way off on this, but I think there's something deeper at work here, a deception that goes back as far as time. It's almost as if a darkness has spilled across the land, and there's a bill about to be paid.

My own opinion, of course, but I can't shake the feeling.

There is a big possibility that we are not being told the truth about who is leading in the polls.

When you see these things begin to happen, look up and lift up you heads, for your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28 NKJV We are not supposed to be watching all these things. We are supposed to be keeping our eyes on Jesus and watching for His appearing.

If we never saw them or watched them how would we know they are happening?

That verse does NOT say don't watch or look. It actually means keep our eyes on Jesus and not on the 'things' in the sense that we

do not have to become paranoid or overcome with fear

We are told what will happen. We are not told to ignore it or pay no attention.

How many people do you know who have read Revelation and not noticed that it is revealing the Person of Jesus Christ? Most people seem to focus on the horrifying things. That is why horrer movies sell so well. I agree that we are to be aware of the things that are going on around us as though in our peripheral vision, but our focus should be on Jesus Christ.

AMEN!!

AND our saviour so lovingly and beautiful says and reminds us:

JOHN 18:36

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.

If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders.

But now my kingdom is from another place.”

Frankly? None...that may be your experience and should we ignore the 'horrible' things? Didn't you just state that the horrible things

should cause us to look to Christ? So which is it?

Please do not try to make me say what I did not, in fact, say.

Don't walk around with your eyes looking at the sky because you will trip on something on the ground that you do not see.

Christians should be wise, they should use their intelligence and not walk around as though they had already been translated.

When Jesus walked this earth he was born as a baby and grew to be a man. He ate, slept and conducted Himself as though

he were human only even though He is the Son of God.

He is my example so I do not take to heart the expressions of people who try to appear as though they are holier than everyone

else.

I do not mean that to you personally. Thanks

Oh the beautiful special human covenants.

It will always and only all be in GOD's hands.

The creator of all things!

The blind can not watch, but they can feel and hear.

The deaf can not hear, they can only feel and see.

The maimed have their own disabilities.

Yet, we all have sin.

Funny that only GOD knows the true end and who will be chosen; even JESUS has no power over that.

When JESUS says to be careful and watch is really for those man-made covenants.

My friends those covenants are everywhere.

The main covenants are RUMORS, CONFUSION, and WAR; on any level ( not just physical).

JESUS is amazing.

All who truly believe just have to deal with it and be strong till the end, because even evil people must eat and their children.

This is why JESUS says to pay Caesar, run from sin, shake the dust off your feet, and just spread the word and live in love.

No one knows if an evil person's child can be a messenger from GOD; only GOD knows.

So, we must just love one another.

Love to all in the Holy Precious Name of JESUS CHRIST who lives and reigns forever and ever ( believers be aware of the man-made covenants of the Pharisees today; they will easily use Christ's name).

Back to the original topic. Yes, I believe there is a growing blindness coming over America. It is a judgement because American law has forsaken God's Word, enabling the proliferation of sin rather than curbing it as the law of this land was created to do by our founding fathers. Hollywood has made the public think that "everyone is doing it" and changed our mores. We have been taught by Harvard and other "higher education" that there is no black and white as Christ taught, but only shades of gray. We evangelical Christians are truly a minority in just 50 years.

But this is not true of the whole world. In many nations where Christiaity is forbidden people are turning to Christ in great numbers. Campus Crusade has stated that the majority of those asking for literature, asking questions and making commitments are from Arab nations. Dalits in India are desperat for hope and are turning to Christ litterally by the thousands. One person who spoke there saw 7000 people receive Christ in one night!. So many people asked for prayer, and he had no idea what they were saying, that he just ask God to meet their need. People were physically healed, delivered from alcohol, marriages were healed and reported by those who drove them to the meeting and by local pastors. There is a great need for Bibles and teaching materials in these lands. There is also great persecution. Many of them may be first as we may be last in God's kingdom, since we who know more will be held accountable for more.

AMEN!

But the man-made covenants are definitely an answer to this topic as well as an answer to the topics on many other threads on this site and other sites.

JESUS already warned us and as HE says, " they that have an ear, let them hear"

AGAPE.

Amen? Does that make your day? Judgement is a good thing? Do you hate the US?

A true disciple of Christ is grieved and in pain over this nation and is fasting and seeking God.

They are not saying amen to judgement.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
