you know, what I find interesting, about liberals, is they make a lot of accusations, without backing them up. Yet, anytime a conservative, says anything anit-Obama, even if it is something that can be found on a simple google search, we have to "back it up" Now, seeing as this is already going off topic, and I am not allowed to post videos here-and this isnt a copout, Im really not allowed to post videos here, I am going to suggest to you, we drop this side topic and let it go back to the original, and if you want to see the many times where Mr. Obama has called the constition imperfect, among other things, that you go and do some of your own legwork for a change-thats something we should all do. Instead of copycatting what everyone else has told us-we should all go out and do our own research. You have google, a few keywords will find you exactly what you asked for. That way, you can see for yourself-one is always far more educated when one does their own legwork. Now, lets let this topic go back to its original topic-and that is the fact that guns are selling faster.

If you're quoting someone else we should always put down the source, but if we're just stating our own feelings and thoughts why should be post all the source material we used to make up our minds....... Some things we discuss here I've read several books to come to a thought about some things.

patriot, I have found that in some circles I am considered a liberal and in others a conservative; it may be hubris but I do not see myself in either camp. This does not mean I am without certain biases or prejudices on issues on both sides; I just try to make an effort to get as close to what is best or what is true as possible without my personality intruding. We all have filters that color and shade things as we are rather as they are. In this great country, we have the freedom to both express and work towards what we see supports the ideals of America, as beautifully stated in our Founding Documents and the Bill of Rights. To me, this is a sober responsibility, as any and all freedom demands. By now I must be sounding like quite the pompous ass, but really I'm just old and have seen far, far too much craziness in my lifetime (a good portion of it caused by me). My approach may not be so much wisdom as a lack of energy, lol.

I am not much for conspiracy theories. If Obama is looking for a backdoor to take away gun ownership or do away with the Second Amendment, the UN deal won't help; it has no provisions to intrude on the laws of individual signer nations for private usage. If actions speak louder than words, at least the president would have laid the groundwork or opened a conversation for greater gun-control by vetoing, not signing, two laws loosening control. I know this can be seen as extremely conniving on the part of the president, a way to lull advocates of guns into a false sense of confidence, yet no liberal in a position of power could not help but be suspect, and the smart ones know this, hence no trap. The theater killings was a great opportunity for the president to press and rush through, in the emotional throes of that tragedy, anyone objecting looking practically like an accomplice, but he did not. MSNBC was condemning of the president for this excellent and missed opportunity.

In summary, as far as I can see, the right to bear arms will continue.

Don't take the UN lightly. they are setting up a very large set of ways of living and doing thing across the globe....... the teeth can be added later all at one time.. Most likely after another really bloody global war. That seems to be the way they swing the global consciousness of the masses over the years..

I dont often agree with other one-but in this case, I think hes 100% correct. The UN is as power hungry as anyone else-their not this nice little national referee everyone thinks they are, theyre after global control. And seriously, if you really think Obama, or anyone else, is going to try to openly ban all the guns in the US in one fatal swype, your pretty nieve, even Obamas smart enough to know that if he tried that, the NRA would have them bogged down in legal proceedings for years before it could take effect, and if the NRA failed, there would be a war on his hands, seeing as theres guns in nearly 50% of the United States populace. No, theyll nibble away at them little by little, and use backdoor methods like these treaties with the UN to accomplish their mission. It may take longer, but it stands a higher chance of success because people rarely pay attention to whats going on behind the scenes, and if they hear about it, theyll just classify such incidents as "more conspiracy theories" without bothering to research them themselves.

The problem with that num, in order for any one power, to bring about world peace, it needs power. And, all power corrupts-has since the beginning of time, and will until Christs return. And the UNs already corrupt-the more power it gets, the more corrupt it will get. Also, keep in mind, all mankind, is by nature, rebellious-so the more power that those in power try to grab, the more the people will resist, and the more war and violence there will be. Its a viscouse circle, and it will continue, like I said, until Christs return, thats prophecied in the Bible. You will never find world peace, and the UN is not after world peace-its after world domination, thats human nature, the more power you have, the more you want. The more you get, the more it corrupts. And the more corrupt it gets, the more people fight you.

num, I am, and as I pointed out to you, reason says all power corrupts, including the UN. This is something that has been proven over and over and over again through the course of history-and is something that the Bible prophecies, all earthly power will corrupt. Obama, by his own words-has never been a fan of guns, and no he hasnt openly tightened down on them-but that doesnt mean that he hasnt been working against them in the background, because as I said, reasonably, only a fool, would work to openly ban guns. You want to know why? Because, you want to take a guess at what the largest legal organization in the US is? The ACLU? Wrong, think again, its the NRA. Openly banning guns, is a surefire way to start a war. It wont work. So, if anyone wants to ban guns, theyre not going to do it openly. On top of that, if he had tried to push through obama care and gun control it would have been like fighting a war on to many fronts-no chance of success either way. Thats reason, thats solid logic. And I have posted several links that support what I have been saying, and I havent had to be rude, sarcastic, or or made wild statements to the fact, unlike you. Even Katyann, who disagrees with me, is at least responding with respect, reading our arguments and sources, and coming back with reasonable arguments, all you have is sarcasm. Where is your reason? Do you have the wording to the actual UN treaty? Last I checked, they havent released the full version to the public yet-and what they havent released, has the senate up in arms over. So please, do us a favor, and drop the sarcasm, and respond with respect, and some of that "reason" you want us to portray, and this conversation may have a healthy ending.

You have a good handle on the reality of this situation, num. Too often Americans let the talking heads form their opinions for them...I'm strictly against that and have stopped tuning in to the partisan hacks that continuously spread the half truths and C.T.s that drive the majority of us crazy. I agree, let's let the facts speak for themselves; I've not seen ANY indication that the President wants to squash gun rights. Trying to take away American's guns would be a losing proposition and, IMO, would spark an outright rebellion. No government could contain a country this size bent on revolution. Oh....welcome to Worthy. :mgbowtie:

If Num had a good handle on anything morning, he wouldnt have to resort to sarcasm and childish remarks, to make his point. A good handle would be you know, posting an actual link the the actual UN treaty-which he, nor anyone else has done, because to date, the full thing hasn't been released to the general public. Im not a wild conspiracist-other will tell you that, we have gone head to head over sveral such theories, but Im wise enough to know that just because some C.Ts are false, doesnt mean they all are-and Im also wise enough to read the Bible, and pay attention to history-history, has proven over and over again, that power corrupts, and war ensues. The Bible, preaches that power corrupts, and war ensues, and will do so until Jesus returns. And 51 US senators actively opposing this UN treaty, because they fear it may violate our second amendment-is not a conspiracy theory.

Guys, we don't denigrate any leader of any nation, it is in the Terms of Service. The policies we can take umbrage with, but not the person. Please keep this in mind when posting.

Also, the TOS asks we treat each other with respect.

Please take note in further discussions on this thread.

Blessings (from when it comes to US politics, an impartial observer :cool2: )

Thank you for the welcome, morning glory, and the kind remarks. It is hard to get to the facts with a warring media putting their particular spin on everything.

Patriot, sorry if my remarks appeared sarcastic, that was not my intent; a lack of interest in conspiracy theories is not a comment on CTs. And although I am at the age where many enter second childhood, I am unsure what remarks were childish. You make a good point about getting an actual link to the treaty. I did a small search before replying here and could not find it. I took it (assumed, and we know what that means) that katyann had the proper links and posted the pertinent statements from it that claimed the bill did not intrude the national gun laws of the signees. Hope this misunderstanding between us does not lead to bad blood.

Apology accepted, and I also apologize if I took any of your remarks in a way they werent intended. I think we all get a little to worked up on certain things, especially now during the political season that we all seam to speak a little faster then we should, and we seem to react a little faster then we should, and I for one, do need to remember sometimes to step back and count to 10 before making a hasty reply.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
