please help me with: Ezekiel 38 and 39

Did somebody ever do a study on these 2 chapters?

I know its about the war of Russia against Israel, but I would like to know it in more detail, like which countries are going to be involved.

I'm doing a little study about those 2 chapters with my daughter and I want to make sure I give her the right explanation.

It might be talking about Russia, but the Hebrew is a little ambiguous, and as far as we know the people we call 'Russians' today were first called the 'Rosh' Ca. A.D. 1000. That doesn't mean they are not the biblical 'Rosh' ("Head" or "Chief" in Hebrew), but we have no historical proof.

More compelling is the possible linguistic connection between Meshech and 'Moscow', & Tubal and 'Tubulsk.' That may buttress the case a little......

I do not see this conflict happening until the end of the 1000 year reign of the Messiah. This battle is the final rebellion that will happen when satan is loosened from his chains and released from the bottomless pit. he will go out and deceive the nations to attack the kingdom of the Messiah.

(Ezek 38:8 KJV) After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

This is an indication of Israel today.

(Ezek 38:10 KJV) Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

(Ezek 38:11 KJV) And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

(Ezek 38:12 KJV) To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

(Ezek 39:1 KJV) Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

(Ezek 38:5 KJV) Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

(Ezek 38:6 KJV) Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

These are people groups that decended from the forefather of the particular name listed, all are of the linage of Japheth.

(Gen 10:2 KJV) The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

(Gen 10:3 KJV) And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

They all settled in the countries north of Israel, and you find listed heavily Muslim countries with them.

I hope this is 1000 years away, but I don't think it is.

Russia, Turkey, all the 'istan countries like Pakistan, Libya, Persia (Iraq), Ethiopia (look on a map) is below Sudan (where Christians are being killed by the hundreds of thousands by the Muslims.

The way this war is described, naming all these countries, Israel will be surrounded and the main battle will be in the mountains.

(Isa 17:1 KJV) The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

(Isa 17:2 KJV) The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

(Isa 17:3 KJV) The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.

(Isa 17:4 KJV) And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.

Damascus, Syria is one of the worlds oldest continuing cities, and little Israel will nuke them in the coming days. The "glory of Jacob" shall be made thin, as world opinion openly condemns Israel for using nukes to defend herself.

This could be the cause of the invasion or the final results, but I would guess that the nations all around her will attack because of this.

(Jer 12:9 KJV) Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

I never thought of this, hmm .....would be nice if somebody knows an explanation for that. Can it be that those countries not agree to fight this war?

Do you believe that Russia might want to attack because of oil?

Also I tried to find more information and believe that Germany =Gomer. Togarmah = Armenia,Rosh =Russia,Meshhech =Moskow, Put=Somalia. Persia=Iran,Tubal=Tobolsk.

I learned that Iran is a moslem country but its not Arabic? Is this true?

The place what will be invaded do you think that could be mostly in the mountains? Do you think it could be that start the fight in the place which came in possesion to Israel during the war in 1967.?

This war will it become before Armageddon ?

How soon do you soon this could happen? I believe it could happen before the Tribulation start? There is no mention of the antichrist in those chapters.

One the most interesting things that stands out to me in the 38th chapter is how Gog (Russia most likely) comes against the Land of Israel.

Eze 38:9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

Notice the words "thou shalt ascend and come like a storm and be like a cloud over Isreal...."

This a precise prophecy that describes todays military technology. How can a whole army ascend or go up and come like a storm? Aircraft! Fighters, Bombers and Aircraft Troop Carrier, Helicopters etc..

This is an amazing piece of prophecy that looks very far into the future and sees an army coming by air against the Land of Israel being spoken when such technology was completely unheard of and completely unbelievable. If you would have told someone this 70yrs ago they would have thought you were insane not to mention that this was spoken of thousands of years ago by my brother Ezekiel.
