According to scripture they are the same, the Lord is the Life and the Lamb of God. There are many books written in heaven besides the book of life, the which each soul is judged from them accordingly. There is the book of works, the book of false-witness and injustice, the book of kidnapping, the book of adultery, the book of robbery, the book of extortion, the book of cruelty, the book of justification, the book of prayers, the book of wounds and tears, the book of caring, the book of forgiveness, the book of repentance, the book of blasphemy, and the book of sacrifice.

I would be interested if you can provide us with where you find this in scripture, or if this is just a belief you have.

My pleasure. This is not my opinion, but found in the Bible for anyone to read. Here are the biblical references you asked for. Be blessed: the book of works- Malachi 3:16,18+ Matthew 16:27+ Revelation 22:12, the book of false-witness and injustice- Matthew 12:36,37, the book of adultery- Hebrews 13:4, the book of cruelty- Psalm 109:5,13,14, the book of justification- Luke 10:20, the book of wounds and tears- Psalm 56:8+ Ezekiel 2:9,10, the book of caring- I Timothy 6:18,19, the book of blasphemy- Matthew 12:31,32, book of life, AND OTHER BOOKS- Daniel 7:10+ 12:1+ Revelation 13:8+ 17:8+ 20:12.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing where you got these ideas.

the book of works- Malachi 3:16,18+ Matthew 16:27+ Revelation 22:12

There is a book of remembrance mentioned. But where is the reference to it being a book in Heaven or a book of works?

Mal. 3:16-18

A Book of Remembrance

16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who meditate on His name.

17 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.[a]
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”

18 Then you shall again discern
Between the righteous and the wicked,
Between one who serves God
And one who does not serve Him.

Matt. 16:24-28

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 “Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

Rev. 22:12-13

Jesus Testifies to the Churches

12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

the book of false-witness and injustice- Matthew 12:36,37

Where is there mention of a book here?

Matt. 12:33-37

A Tree Known by Its Fruit

33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart[g] brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

the book of adultery- Hebrews 13:4

Again where is the mention of a book here?

Hebrews 13:1-6

Concluding Moral Directions

13 Let brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. 3 Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.

4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”[a] 6 So we may boldly say:

“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”

(For the sake of lengths of posts I'll continue on a second post.)

God bless,

(part 2)

the book of cruelty- Psalm 109:5,13,14

Where is there mention of a book here?

Ps. 109:3-16

Plea for Judgment of False Accusers

3 They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,
And fought against me without a cause.

4 In return for my love they are my accusers,
But I give myself to prayer.

5 Thus they have rewarded me evil for good,
And hatred for my love.

6 Set a wicked man over him,
And let an accuser[a] stand at his right hand.

7 When he is judged, let him be found guilty,
And let his prayer become sin.

8 Let his days be few,
And let another take his office.

9 Let his children be fatherless,
And his wife a widow.

10 Let his children continually be vagabonds, and beg;
Let them seek their breadalso from their desolate places.

11 Let the creditor seize all that he has,
And let strangers plunder his labor.

12 Let there be none to extend mercy to him,
Nor let there be any to favor his fatherless children.

13 Let his posterity be cut off,
And in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord,
And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15 Let them be continually before the Lord,
That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

16 Because he did not remember to show mercy,
But persecuted the poor and needy man,
That he might even slay the broken in heart.

book of justification- Luke 10:20

Not sure but there seems to be a theme starting to develop here. Where is there a mention of a book here?

Luke 10:17-20

The Seventy Return with Joy

17 Then the seventy[e] returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather[f] rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

the book of wounds and tears- Psalm 56:8, Ezekiel 2:9-10

Is the book specifically a book of wounds and tears?

Ps. 56:8-11

Prayer for Relief from Tormentors

8 You number my wanderings;
Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book?

9 When I cry out to You,
Then my enemies will turn back;
This I know, because God is for me.

10 In God (I will praise His word),
In the Lord (I will praise His word),

11 In God I have put my trust;
I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

Ez. 2:6-10

6 “And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns arewith you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house. 7 You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious. 8 But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”

9 Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it. 10 Then He spread it before me; and there was writing on the inside and on the outside, and written on it werelamentations and mourning and woe.

the book of caring- I Timothy 6:18,19

These are instructions to the rich. Where is the book?

1 Tim. 6:17-19

Instructions to the Rich

17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

the book of blasphemy- Matthew 12:31-32

Where is the mention of a book?

Matt. 12:31-32The Unpardonable Sin

31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

God bless,

From the many scriptures you all have cited I do not see how anyone could get around the fact that some names entered into the Book will be deleted according to whether they turn away from Christ or remain faithful to Him. The parable of the seeds is a good way to see it. The seeds that were snatched away were never believers and so their names were never entered into the book in the first place. In the case of those with hearts of shallow soil, the seed germinates and they are born again. Then when they have to go through trials they give in and turn from Christ (Mt 10). Their names are blotted out. Those who allow the thorns of lust to grow until they are overcome by them will also have their names deleted (2 Peter 2:20). The names of those who are "good soil" will be found to be written in the book when the books are opened.

When I read the Bible I see this taking place in the context of time, frame-by-frame. In one frame they turn to Christ but later they may rebel (like King Saul, or Judas). On the other hand, there is a mystery about it because it appearson one hand that the book is an ongoing work in progress; however, other scriptures suggest that it is already been completed.

I had a difficult time with this until I read the Net Bible. Their grammatical analysis of Rev 13:8 and Rev 17:8 shows that these verses should not be translated as "the lamb slain before the foundation of the earth." It is not the slaying of the Lamb but the writing of the names that was done before the foundation of the earth. The "lamb slain" should modify the book so as to read "The Book of the Slain Lamb" This describes the origin, nature of this book and WHO possesses it.

The verb "written" is conjugated in the perfect tense indicating that the action (of writing) was begun and completed in the past and that the completed result (the names) remain. God in a sense "took up His pen, wrote every name, finished the list, put down His pen." The ones who will worship the Beast will be those whose names were never written in the Book but how does that square with names being blotted out. I think it is because that book exists in the realm of His foreknowledge

To us the Book is a work in progress, names being added, never added, or deleted. The Book undergoes many revisions until it reaches its final form and is published. WHen that happens the Final Edition will be identical the one He knew in the beginning. This I take to be the result of His transcendent foreknowledge. He is the only writer who possesses the final edition of his work before it has been written. We will not know whose names are in that book until the books are open and it is published. In the end we would have had a choice whether our name was included but He would have known our decision. Freewill and foreknowledge was what the early church believed.

It seems to me that you have read scripture and have created a mental list of books so you can refer back to the idea. Not one of the references you stated refer to a book by any name, and in many cases, not even to a book.

Though I respect your means of remembrance, your idea is not scriptural, but a tool you use. There is a difference in someone using tools and the tools being scriptural fact. That is the only message I am trying to get across, your means of remembering scripture, by creating a list of books, does not equate the books as being scriptural.

Law

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Romans 3:23-28

Of Faith

Of sin, because they believe not on me; John 16:9

Don't Leave Earth Without It

I agree.

These books are not foretold of in the bible: the exact names are not clear, thus, what you have claimed is not upheld by scripture. (also not disproved) but as OneLight stated earlier, best not to venture outside of Scripture.

I quote scripture. Please read Revelation 20:12, and notice the word "bookS" is plural....

The Book Of Life

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12

And The Holy Bible

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:47-48

For These Two Books

A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. Daniel 7:10

Are Truly Life

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Exodus 32:32-33

And Death

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 3:13

You See

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. J

Ok, at the risk of digging the nail deeper, if Jie has had a vision shown to him about heavenly books, and if that vision was given by God, who are we to dispute? The problem that we have is that we can only go by scripture, and while God always confirms His specific communication (dreams, visions etc) with His holy eternal scripture, it's not always clear to others receiving the information second-hand. So Jie, if you say that these books exist, I won't dispute with you. But I'll leave just as your experience unless/until God leads me to enquire further.

Blessings.

Visions do not go against scripture, but supports scripture. Visions are different than prophecy. If we are to accept everyone who comes here teaching their visions, having the same weight of scripture because it came from God, where so you think your walk in Christ would be today?

We are instructed be be as the Berean (Acts 17:10-11), to take what someone says and place it beside scripture to see if it is true or not. Anything not found in scripture should be seen as either extra-biblical or false.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
