Blessings Everyone..

I don't know ,I find this topic rather interesting....I don't see how I could pass judgement on the believer that marries an unbeliever, since our flesh is always at war with the spirit there are times many a believer is lead into temptation...does that mean that they are not a believer?Oh,I know there will be post after post of what Gods Word says we shouldn't do but haven't we all done something  we clearly should not have done and then when we couldn't stand the conviction we dropped to our knees & thanked Jesus that He still loves us and we repent?

Yes of course we all have sinned no-one is saying we have'nt and no-one is passing judgement either. The thread is about why a believer should not marry an unbeliever and I stated reasons why..obedience. Just because I pointed that out does not mean I'm passing judgement its what scripture says...its the way that The Lord has laid out for us to walk.

I personally don't see what the attraction to unbeliever would be but I don't walk in another brothers(or sisters  shoes)...could it be possible God has predestined one to be saved & has a believer all picked out for them? After all,His Word does say that the marriage can be sanctified and the unbeliever is under the believers umbrella of grace(so to speak)?

No its not  ok  to date an unbeliever  in the hope that they may be saved after marriage. Believers should not bear the yoke with unbelievers, not for any reason. The Lord knows what it best for His children and we would be wise to strive to walk in that way in which He has laid out for us.

I am just pondering different scenarios is all....any thoughts?I just try not to pass judgement because I cannot know anyones heart....that is between them & God......we would do well to always walk in spirit  & in truth ,to never sin & to always be as Christ is in heaven but for now,we can only strive for perfection....praise & glory to God!

Dear WIP,

I never did say anyone was/is being judgemental....I am only saying I cannot be,all I am doing is giving my opinion and like I said, pondering different scenarios that others may experience and trying to understand others....as often I do..

I am very well aware of what this thread is about and what the reasons we should not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever....this not something I would ever consider doing and frankly,God knows that, so I suppose I really did not even have to add that? You see,I am in total agreement with you and I cannot see God blessing 2 people that do not put Him first in their lives and do as He says....just as I have preached to my son & now is happily married to a lovely Christian girl...

I am sorry that for some reason you thought my post was about you or anyone else,if it were ,I would have said so...I hope I do not sound disrespectful but I just wish for once I could just share some thoughts without someone taking apart every paragraph & taking it personal.....kind of takes the joy of sharing out of it...well,another thread I will retire from...peace,love & blessings to you WIP and to everyone.........                                                                With love,in Christ-Kwik

Any believer who marries an unbeliever is rebellious and disobedient...and as such steps out of The Lord's blessing...He will not bless disobedience. Getting married is a huge step to take and there is no excuse for the believer to go ahead and marry an unbeliever totally disregarding what God's word instructs us.

I agree with the above, WIP.  I have never be able to fathom how such a marriage could work anyway.  The two people would have nothing important in common and, of course, when they have children, how would they be raised?

i just find it remarkable that you would judge ones salvation by their pick of a spouse.  i thank God we are not neighbors.

other one.I do not think that God is judging a person by those words.God wants us as believers to be happy.Their may be a handful of marriages that work out fine being unevenly yokes. The majority that I have seen have been a disaster.

1 Timothy 4:1-3

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Mark 3:28-30

"Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation"-- because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."

James 2:8-13

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Romans 15: 33

Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

I would not marry an unbeliever. I met a couple where one was a southern baptist (sound very conservative Christian from what the wife told me) but the wife was a full on pagan. I don't know how the marriage is working out now but it was pretty rocky because of their difference of beliefs. The guy also wanted to marry the girl within one week so it was a little creepy.

What to do when your search for your partner goes south. Singledom or pray? Isn't being single a gift from God.

I would not marry an unbeliever. Howevr i would be a great influence in her life in realizing she cannot have a true loving physical relationship until she has a personal intimate relationship with God/Jesus Christ.

I think so, I believe those who are not married and burn not are more blessed to tend to the Lord with far less distraction or trouble in the flesh.

I'm married but I try to encourage those who are not.

Though Im married to an unbeliever. Even still, if I were ever widowed, I would have no interest in marrying (even a believer) but rather doing my own thing in the Lord without any in house man distractions.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
