God does say that every tear will be wiped away...but the Bible does not say we will not remember our life on earth. Perhaps we will see it from God's perspective.

Many people have speculated about our eternity, but I would just be careful not to say what the Bible itself does not say.

Again, we do know we will have joy in God's presence...what is the point of all we go through down here if we simply have our memories wiped clean like a computer with a virus?

Paul talks about a great cloud of witnesses up in heaven...you can almost get the picture we are viewed by those who have gone befoe...I would take that to mean we are

cognizant of our time on earth.

There are a few other references that seem to give the impression that memories are in fact, intact in heaven...prob with a different perspective IMO, but can't say for sure

Some say that these passages tell us that we will not have a memory of our life on Earth:

Isaiah 65:16So that he who blesses himself in the earth

Shall bless himself in the God of truth;

And he who swears in the earth

Shall swear by the God of truth;

Because the former troubles are forgotten,

And because they are hidden from My eyes.

Isaiah 65:17For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Perhaps the only memories that will be cleansed will be the ones that involve sin, pain and sadness:

Revelation 21:4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Well, I was just answering the op, not actually responding to your post.   I'm surprised you thought you had to provide me with scriptures?  But, since you did, I believe scripture really does not

indicate we loose our memories.  Of course, if you prefer to believe that you do loose your memory (ies), that is not a salvation issue, so no harm done I guess.

Here are some thoughts on the matter.  I don't think I'll respond again, because really, this is not a debate after all.  Thanks

When we get to heaven, our human nature will be changed.  In this life we have an imperfect human nature; a sinful human nature.  In the next life, however, we will have a perfect human nature as Christ Jesus has; a sinless human nature.1  It is important to note that Christ Jesus is different from us in that within Him dwells perfect humanity ( a sinless human nature) and Divinity; He is God-man.

As to memories having sin in them; memories are not sin.  Sin comes about when one gives into temptation, and given the opportunity, would act upon it.2

Both the righteous and the un-righteous will retain their memories in the next life.

2 (James 1:13-15)

Question: "Will we remember our earthly lives when we are in Heaven?"

Answer:Isaiah 65:17tells us, “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” Some interpretIsaiah 65:17as saying that we will have no memory of our earthly lives in heaven. However, one verse earlier inIsaiah 65:16, the Bible says, “For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.” It is likely only our “past troubles” that will be forgotten – not all of our memories. Our memories will be cleansed, redeemed, healed, and restored – not erased. There is no reason why we could not possess many memories from our earthly lives. The memories that will be cleansed are the ones that involve sin, pain, and sadness.Revelation 21:4declares, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

IMO - Yes.

All sin is left with the body, which is dust.

You'll be raised in a proper light where true wisdom is taught.

You'll become you again, but without sin.

A second chance by the grace of God.

Yes. It doesn't get any plainer than that.

Revelation 21:4

Anyone would like to comment?

How do you understand "for the old order of things has passed away?" Do you believe that or do you not? Are pains and sorrows not in the old order of things?

I don't think we will have all of our memory erased:

Rev 6:9

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Rev 6:10

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

They obviously remembered their time on earth.

we live this life on earth,to be the Christian, what the Christian means, that means the people restoring  the intimate relationship with GOD(which was broken bcs our ancestor's sin).and on this base,we walking and working with GOD,to fullfill GOD's plan in our life, and in this process ,we become more and more mature in GOD,have more and more understanding about GOD,have more and more experience working with GOD,etc......to remove all of these?then GOD work in vain, and our live in vain

i think we live this life is just the learning program ,to train us be the qualified citizen in heaven

Blessings to Everyone!!!

This is something I often pondered about, being carnally minded I can be so full of self that I think my memories are a part of what makes me what I am but  it doesn't really.....in the same way I have become a new creature in Christ Jesus I am still a process of repentance and I am far from but yet still strive for perfection.....God is perfect and He remembers my sins no more from the day Jesus wiped them clean with His Blood......I think when I leave this body and become as Christ is in Heaven,I too will remember my sins no more and reach perfection......

I am not sure if I am expressing my thoughts very well but let me try another way....How can I have perfect joy and peace if I can remember the pain, suffering or unhappiness of myself and family members ....if I have the memory of unsaved loved ones and then knowledge that I will never again see them? The people and family members we have come to know and love never belonged to us in the first place....everything and everyone is Gods...memory would be holding on to the flesh ,would it not?Our hearts ,souls and minds are carnal,,,the spirit is separate,it was at war with the flesh....

No matter how much I feel free from sin condemnation I can still remember living in sin,I don't believe those memories have any place in heaven...I think every tear will be wiped away with any memories that would make us unhappy

Those are just my different thoughts, not a thing I am sure of because God has not yet revealed this to us in full and His ways are not mine...I know for sure He promises joy beyond my wildest imagination because of His magnificent glory....I don't think anything else will really matter in the least...like my favorite song"I can only imagine".........Oh brothers and sisters, let us rejoice and give Him the Highest praise-for He is more than Worthy!!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
