To Set The Record Straight

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:10-13

Jesus Saves

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:35-36

The Bible teaches about two salvations.  One is by the pure love mercy and grace of God in giving everlasting life to His children of promise (the elect).  Effectively making children of men into children of God.  The second is the salvation in the here and now by entering into His kingdom.

All of God's children are eternally saved.  Not all of God's children are saved here and now and enter into His kingdom.

Those children who fail to enter into His kingdom , here and now , will suffer the consequences of being foolish and disobedient children.....namely a stint in hell; missing the marriage supper and the millennial kingdom.  These foolish children will be redeemed at the great white throne of judgement, where they will be judged, not for their faith (they are children of God), but for their works.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Romans 3:23-28

Here

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

And

And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 (ESV)

Now

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

Scripture teaches only one salvation, which is through Christ Jesus.  There is no second chance for anyone after death; no purgatory or trying by fire in hell.

Romans 10:8-10

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Hebrews 9:27-28

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

I agree we are saved through Christ.   All of God's children have everlasting life and will live in the forever with God.....because Jesus paid the ransom price for all of God's children.....period.
But what is not taught, is that the foolish and disobedient children of God are not worthy to rule and reign with Christ in His kingdom , yet to come.  The foolish and disobedient children will not make the marriage supper nor the millennial kingdom but spend the time from death , through the millennial kingdom.....IN HELL.......waiting for the judgement of their works, not their faith; they are children of God and their names are in the book of life.

And that is basically the difference between the OSAS lie and Eternal Salvation.

The Evil One has done a superb job of decieving many of God's children making them feel secure in their foolishness and disobedience.  Heavens sake, just look at the Calvinist and Arminians and there erroneous dogma and doctrines......a little bit of truth mixed with falsehood.  And they have been arguing and bickering over the word of God for centuries.  Where is the Holy Spirit in settling their confusion?  I say......ABSENT, NOT THERE.

You do not provide any scriptural evidence for your theology that they are tested in hell while still being in the Book of Life. Nobody knows who is in the Book of Life, so what you say is just a theory and should be considered as such ... unless you have scripture showing otherwise.

I challenge you to show where purgatory, or any other refining in hell, is scriptural.

I am not going to do a long reply when I agree with OneLight, and I too invite you to provide scripture from the 66 books of the Bible to prove your statement.

Blessings to all,

Anyone who will stand before the Great White Throne of Judgement is in trouble,no man comes to the Father except by the Son(Jesus)as it is written in John14:6.......My brother,OldSaint, some food for thought(all men are Gods creation but are not all His children)I am not sure what you are saying ,if you are speaking on universal salvation...which is one of satans dangerous lies?

There are plenty of Scriptures given to us in the written Word of God to warn us of eternal damnation in the eternal fires of hell for anyone who is not saved by Grace through faith in our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus...Matt25:46,Matt18:8,2 Thess1:9,Jude7,Jude12:13,1Cor15:1-4,John 5:24,Rev 19:3,Rev 20:10,Luke 3:17 and that is just to name a few.God is not a God of confusion and He never contradicts His own Word

There are no explicit New Testament references to Christ descending into hell after His death either ,as taught in the "Apostles Creed"(Catholicism)although there is mention in 1 Peter 3:19-20 where Jesus preached to imprisoned spirits? This theology is sometimes what can lend to confusion as to hell(or Hades or Sheol)being a temporary holding place which is contrary to Gods Word. This "story"first appears clearly in the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus(aka-Acts of Pilate)written by Ananais.....

I am not sure where you are getting the notion of hell being temporary but perhaps this information may be helpful in separating fact from fiction. In my early years I attended Catholic school and these untruths were taught to me,it took many years for me to be"de-briefed"(lol)...I pray you receive this with love,as it is intended

                                                                               With love ,in Christ-Kwik

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
