The practice of witchcraft / voodoo /

obeah is becoming increasingly

widespread. It is prevalent in Africa,

however it is gaining popularity in

the West. Classified ads direct us to

those who can help us win back lost

love, make anyone fall in love with us,

steal someone else’s wealth and

prosperity, etc. Some of these are

charlatans and fakes, but some really

“deal” with the devil. The practice of

divination is as old as the Old

Testament, where witches and

sorcerers obtained messages from

demon spirits. So this is a real

phenomenon. I have heard reports

of persons sprinkling potions in

someone else’s food to make them

fall in love with them. Others try to

bring curses on people using items

of clothing. Witchcraft comes in many

forms and is very real.

So my question is does this kind traditional remote -controlled technology really affect Christians ?

Christians who are not walking in the light, who continue in sin while professing the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior are vulnerable to attack.

There is complete protection from all curses...Jesus became a curse for us when He hung on the cross...and from all attacks of the enemy, but as with anything in the

Word of God, there are obligations on our part that if we do not fulfill, may very well leave us open to being attacked.

If a Christian lives in a part of the world where curses and such are a common practice, they must take special care to protect themself by not allowing sinful practices

in their life.   Sinful lifestyles opens opportunity for the devil to have a foothold in a person's life.

The Proverbs have this to say: Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.  Proverbs 26:2

So my question is does this kind traditional remote -controlled technology really affect Christians ?

Curses, hexes, spells and such operate on spiritual principals.  The blood of Christ shed on our behalf declares us innocent but we must still put on the spiritual armor and

be sober and vigilant as the Bible describes.  Fear is also a platform from which the devil can attack, but the love of God casts out fear.

Here is another verse: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  II Tim 1:7

Amen~!

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:34-39

And Amen~!

I remember reading a book in the 50s that was by Dr. Rhine of Duke University who did studies on ESP. He found that the only kind of occult practice that "worked" was voodoo. All other fortune tellers, and those with psychic powers that they tested with double blind tests were hoaxes.

I know one lady who came from a family of fortune tellers who claimed that she could even tell how much you had in your purse, and she was supposed to be converted to Christ. She is back in business so I doubt if her conversion was genuine.

I have to surmise that voodoo is satanic. We know that the people in Pharohs court could immitate God's miracles, and that we are told that practice of communicating with the dead and witch craft, sorcerors with potions etc are evil in God's eyes and not to be practiced by the Jews.

However, I agree with the above post that true Christians who walk in the Spirit are not affected by spells. I have not tried God's word in this respect because I don't know of any spell cast on me. However, I do believe that Jesus became a curse for me and that I would not be affected by a curse or a spell.

Hi Andrew,

Absolutely.......But not the Lord!I was a practicing witch, many years ago(I can't even believe it myself(lol)God is so good!).......There is no difference between black majic, grey magic, white magic, fortune tellers, witches, voodoo, psychics(need I go on)....these are all the enemies tools,tactics,deceit.....the familiar spirit(demon)tells the psychic all there is to know about someone or their family members or the guy they love....he has been around 2000yrs(they know & see& hear alot.......At a seance the demon poses as your dearly departed so& so.....the shaman calls on different demons to do their bidding....its all the same

A Christain is no less vulnerable to being attacked(actually ,more of a target)than anyone else and is powerless....But we have Jesus  and the Word of God,there is no demon that is even the least bit empowered to go against the power of the Holy Spirit....therefore we have all the tools, armor and weaponry we will ever need. The Lord rebukes the enemy for us,He fights our battles,He released us from any bondage ,if God is for us who could be against us.

I am not going to go into this any further because all you need is Jesus,be in relationship with the Lord, pray, know the Word, resist temptation, walk in spirit, ask for discernment and a fresh indwelling of the Holy Spirit.....and no weapon formed against thee shall prosper......all you need to know is written in Gods Word,,,,

Keep God first in your life and fear not for He is always with thee.......glory to God

                                                                                                                              With love,in Christ-Kwik

What I am about to state, I do so with hesitation...I was very conservative in my response.  I have had to deal with things aimed at me by certain practioneers of the occult...real practioneers and not

wannabees...and spirit filled or not, they can be effective.  There is a reason we are told to be sober and vigilant.

I also was involved in a so called ministry some years back, that had all sorts of 'odd' things going on...the founder turned out to be a practicing homosexual, so the door for satanic activity was wide

open.  he was also involved in a coven (we found out later) and he was able to tell members of the congregation all kinds of things about themselves as if he had been present when they said

or did things.  There were also manifestations of other worldly powers...which of course I know now were of demonic origin...and people had their lives badly damaged.  I was quite young and it

was another family member who actually got us involved.  We have all suffered for being involved also I might add.

I say I state what I do with hesitation because of the controversy about whether or not demons can actually harm Christians or if you are 'spirit filled' (remember ALL Christians are sealed with the

Holy Spirit whether or not you speak in tongues does not make you a saint and I speak in tongues so no prejudice there).  If you leave yourself vulnerable because of sin or disobedience, rebellion,

sexual sin and even the usual congregational type sins like gossip and backbiting, then satan does have something he can legitimately claim as ground from which to attack...not him personally

but demons if you will.

Now I really hesitate to say the following, but it bears paying attention to or you can write me off as a ninny, but I have seen more than I wanted to and wish I did not know some things that I do know.

Having said that, I do know that demons are real and they are defeated through the blood of Christ and our victory is in Christ and these things are not imagination and they are not to be played

around with.  Their power is real and most likely greater than the average Christian would like to know.

We just simply need to remember that the devil is defeated...but not in our strength...the battle is the Lords' and Jesus has already defeated all the power of the enemy.  We do need to take seriously

Jesus words about deception, NT teaching concerning false prophets and teachers and be sober and vigilant because the lion is not toothless as some believe but he is wanting to kill and destroy.

In Duet it shows those hiring against them Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse them. But then it continues, Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.

If God be for us who can be against us?

When Jesus returns to this earth after satan comes, all forms of sin will be destroyed.

Proverbs 11:21

King James Version (KJV)

21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
