Matthew 24:11-13

11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

  2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ[a] had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[b] is revealed, the son of perdition,

Knowing that the world will be deceived, how can any of us make sure that we will not be among the many?

I think the scriptures that are found in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-28  gives instructions concerning the day of Christ return and gives us comfort also in having the knowledge of God pertaining to the day of the Lord's coming.

1 Thessalonians 5:4 - But ye,brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a theif.

Dear Sister,

This is often my prayer...."Let me not be deceived,Lord".....not now or in days to come.....in the Book of John6:28-29 reads....Therefore they said to Him,"What shall we do so that  we may work the works of God"and Jesus answered ,saying to them,"This is the work of God,that you believe in Him,Whom He has sent"....Now of course, they were speaking of"works"but the same holds true in any case...our Blessed Assurance is Jesus, our only hope in all things and it is by our faith & His abiding in us that will lead us not into temptation and keep us from deception....Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God...

The elect, the chosen are being warned of things to come and we must hold fast to Gods Word that the Holy Spirit will bring remembrance to us .....we are told to run, flee & stand in the Holy Place at that time.....I think the most important thing we can do is stay close to Jesus,if we are around for these things I believe our Shepherd will take care of His flock & lead us to where we should go & to Him..........Yes,Sister,it is my prayer

                                                                                                           With love,in Christ-Kwik

Openly Curious and Kwik; I agree totally, and yet I've seen it happen to people before my eyes whose walk has been even stronger with the Lord than mine.  What went wrong?   I know it does happen, but how does one simply give up the faith and stop believing?  Is it all about the flesh?

Blessings *Zion*..

Perhaps it is carnality, who is to really know except God.....sometimes(I think)the ones that we believe have unshakeable faith ,did not have that much at all......But we do know that the enemy is constantly seeking to devour who he may,he comes to kill, steal & destroy and if we do not put on the full armor of God then what do we do when those fiery darts come against us?

There are so many times, dear Sister, I hear people talk of my "great" or "strong" faith & I do not feel so faithful,or as faithful as I think I should be....those are the times I know that I must resist the enemy telling me my faith is weak,,,,I have to armor up & pray, praise, worship &read His Word.....the enemy only needs a little foothold to gain a stronghold

Thats why & many Christians disagree,we need not forsake the gathering(as some do)...we need each other also,Follow the footsteps of the flock & they will lead to the Shepherds tent......We are told the gate is narrow & many are called but few are chosen,Christianity is not just a battle...its war.............thank God for His Word, thank You Jesus-bless us Lord

W#ith love,in Christ-Kwik

I would have to say that we don't know if someones walk is stronger than ours. that is probably one of the first ways we can be deceived.

I don't know where my pastor is in his walk. I know he is an amazing man, and loves Jesus, is an awesome father and husband and that his life is a lamp. But I still don't know where his walk with Jesus is.

The quiet person sitting in the back of or church, who says little and I know little about, may be the rock of the church.

We just cannot make that call, and that's OK. I guess it is meant to be that way, only God knows our hearts.

it starts with unconfessed sin that isn't repented of....  that gives the dark side a hold on ones life and it slowly grows from there.  Usually the kinds of things that are private that others don't see coming so it appears that it came from nowhere when in fact it may have taken years.

Once saved, always saved. Plus, your premise doesn't apply to us because the Church will be Raptured before all this. I don't need to reference the Scriptures as they have been posted many times throughout this forum. If you disagree, I don't care. If your saved, you will be raptured anyway. Praise GOD!!

That's so true - and you know pride will make us hold on to that sin all the more as we try to convince ourselves that it's not wrong... scary!  We so need to get this right!!!  Question: is there a quick fix for pride?  Something that'll tear that stain right off??

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
